In Born Again, the most important cases which provide evidence of reincarnation, including cases researched by Ian Stevenson MD at the University of Virginia, are compiled. Dr. Semkiw methodically presents crucial reincarnation cases in easy to read synopses, such as the James Huston | James Leininger case, which demonstrate principles of reincarnation. These principles include the observations that facial features, personality traits, talents and passions can remain consistent from lifetime to lifetime. Dr. Semkiw also reviews the very significant Ian Stevenson twin study case, which shows that souls can plan lifetimes, so that loved ones can be reunited in families through reincarnation. Significantly, it is also shown that religion, nationality and ethnic affiliation can change from lifetime to lifetime, as demonstrated in the very important reincarnation case involving Anne Frank. As people realize they can be Jewish or Muslim in one lifetime, and Christian, Buddhist or Hindu in another incarnation, and vice versa, violence based on differences in cultural identity will be diminished. Xenoglossy cases researched by Ian Stevenson, MD, where individuals can speak and understand a foreign language that was not learned by normal means, are also presented. These cases show that past life personalities are retained intact within the soul. The independently researched cases involving Penney Peirce, as well as many cases researched by Ian Stevenson, MD, show that a soul can inhabit more than one body at a time. Even a case involving suicide in a past incarnation, researched by Dr. Stevenson, is reviewed. Dr. Semkiw also presents his reincarnation research performed in conjunction with Kevin Ryerson, a world famous trance medium who has worked with Shirley MacLaine for 30 years. Mr. Ryerson channels a spirit guide named Ahtun Re who has demonstrated the ability to make accurate past life matches. Reincarnation cases derived by Dr. Semkiw in sessions with Kevin Ryerson include those of Laurel & Hardy, Halle Berry, Uri Geller, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Oprah Winfrey, Amitabh Bachchan, Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, Nobel Laureate Kary Mullis, Shakespeare and Abraham Lincoln. In sum, in Born Again, not only is compelling evidence of reincarnation presented, but a comprehensive understanding of how reincarnation works, based on objective evidence compiled over decades, is provided.
Most of the cases in the book involve famous historical people reincarnated into people who are well known today. Each chapter ends with some photos or portraits of the pair, stating that they bear a remarkable resemblance to each other. The modern photos have the person with the same expression or in the same pose as their supposed previous incarnation. I really found the pictures having only a slight resemblance. Some of the stories are quite convincing, while others seem contrived. I can't believe I wasted a lot of time reading this book.
Starts out really strong and interesting then turns to repetitive phrases and just boring. I stopped with 15% left to read because it just wasn't holding my attention any longer.
Repetitive! The author continually naming Shirley Maclean as if that's a confirmation of the truth. The photo comparisons are a joke, they look nothing like each other. The book tries to align its findings with Dr. Ian Stephenson which comes nowhere near his convincing research. Don't wast your time or money!
