2.5 Stars! I got acquainted with Ms. Baxter's short stories with her Millionaire Matchmaker series, and decided to continue with her BBW Blind Date series. Ms. Baxter has a unique way of grabbing hold of your attention and taking you along for the sizzling ride right alongside her characters.
Summary:
Monica Jordan is a plus sized woman with bad luck in love. Unfortunately for her, men aren't often looking for a woman with curves. Having been rejected because of her weight too many times to count, Monica has given up on dating. It's not worth the heartbreak when she sees disappointment or worse, disgust. Especially after talking and getting to know each other online. Regretfully, hopes of meeting her dream man fade, but she decides to give into one last date. Gabe Stark is a divorcee looking for love. Desperate to find a woman who likes him for himself, Gabe turns to online dating. When Gabe and Monica find themselves comfortably talking late into the night, they both agree to meet up and see what happens. Monica can't control her nerves or fear of rejection and humiliation, but she does find the courage to show up for her date. Will she be able to put her insecurities aside in order to give Gabe a chance, especially when she learns he's not just any man, but a billionaire with stunning masculine beauty?
I liked Monica well enough. I don't feel we had as much character development as we should, though. I would have liked to have gotten to know her personality a bit better. Gabe was sweet. I don't feel we learned anything of him except his billionaire status and recent divorce, but he still grabbed my attention just because of his treatment of Monica. My biggest complaint is that I don't feel the price fits the length of the story. I bought the complete series bundle, which saved me a bit compared to if I bought them individually, but still the story is no more than twenty pages or so, so $2.99 is a bit much for me. I guess for me, in the next installments, I'm hoping for a bit more substance. <3

The story is kind of cute. I like the part where Monica and Gabe get to know each other by chatting online. And I like their first real date. The sexual tension between the characters is good. Even the first part where Gabe takes Monica home is hot. But when they get down to it, they don't use any kind of protection. Not only does it piss me off, but I find it completely un-sexy. They don't know each other, it's their first date, they don't know where the other has been and what they've done. It's just such a stupid thing! In this day and age, it's all about protection. Even for make believe people. This is why I ducking it down to 3 stars, other than this very important detail, it's a solid 4 star story.
