I read this story as an e-book on my Iphone, so I mostly read this when I didn't have a regular book around, over the course of a few months. One good thing about the book was that the story did not go stale with time, which happens to me sometimes with books that I take too long to complete. The story is interesting and well-paced. I would have rated it 3.5 stars if I could have, but I could not bump it up to a 4. There were way too many editorial or grammatical errors in the later stages of the version I read that any normal person could pick up in regular reading. Reading it on my phone, where the screen changed about every 3 seconds, for me to be able to notice that many typos demonstrates a lackluster effort in proofreading. But it is a good read overall. It is a good story to be read on an e-reader, with the relative shortness of the chapters. A fun adventure.
EDIT: The author wrote me to say the story has been professionally edited since, so if you read it, it should be cleaned up a bit.
I really enjoyed this story and became quite attached to the three main characters - Angus, Ron and Tom. The action as the story progresses really mounts and is definiterly exciting, drawing the reader into the adventure and the emotions that the three intrepid young men go through. I have only marked my star rating down for this book because of the large number of spelling and punctuation errors which make some passages quite difficult to read. If the book were to be re-edited to resolve some of these issues, I believe it would greatly enhance the reader experience and would certainly push my view up to five stars.
