Sergius Durham and his brothers are legendary trackers in these parts, and only the local sheriff knows why. They’re wolf shifters, attempting to live quietly on their horse farm. A difficult task when they’re summoned every time a hiker goes missing.
Serg knows there’s something different about his latest case the moment he touches her left-behind clothing. She is his mate, and nothing will stop him from finding and claiming her—except maybe the repeat-offending nuisance of a vampire who lured her off the trail.
Juliana Polanski isn’t sure how she got so lost, but there’s no mistaking her instant attraction to her rescuer. No denying the passion that explodes between them when rain drives them into a cave for shelter—or at his home, in his bed, even after the crazy, improbable truth of his heritage comes out.
Yet Serg knows the danger isn’t over. At any moment Julianna could be kidnapped right out of his arms—by the only creature the Durham brothers have never been able to track.

So, this book was pretty terrible. But I laughed...and I finished it. So, I'm giving it two stars.
I realize that with PNR, you have to suspend a bit of reality. With this, you'd have to suspend reality (and the ability to speak like a normal person) entirely.
The dialogue was awful. Seriously...maybe the worst ever, except in my favorite book ever, Real.
Some of the best (or worst) quotes include:
"These are the sweetest nipples in the world. You taste like honey. An appetizer to the main course, which will surely be a culinary delight." <--- ACTCUAL DIALOGUE
"So smooth. I love this shaved look. And it'll feel good against your panties or just bare, your naked pussy rubbing against the denim of your jeans every day while you wait for me to fuck you." <--- AGAIN, ACTUAL DIALOGUE
"He's gazing at my most intimate parts."
"Your clit is peeking out of its hood, pulsing with need."
"I'll suck your clit into my mouth and drag a mind-numbing release from your pussy."
"He held himself inside her, letting his semen pulse deep into her womb." I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE SAID ENOUGH: WOMB SHOULD NEVER BE USED EVER. NOT IN EROTICA, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE A GYNO AND A PREGNANT WOMAN.
AND MY ABSOLUTE FAVOROTE (IF FAVORITE MEANS THE WORST THING EVER) "He stared at her and visualized a baby of theirs sucking the same little bud."
Yes, that actually happened. Along with some of my other favorites like petals and folds and women "squirting come."
2.5 stars. It was rather bland. Not bad; not good. It all just seemed sort of superficial. The bad guy got away to leave room for stories for the brothers of the hero. One was enough for me so I won't be reading more of the series. I think this was a spin off series. Perhaps the original one was better.
Super light plot, smexy pnr--more sex than plot. The villain and H's interest in the heroine was too insta-lovey even for pnr. Still some fun, but not enough for me to rush to read the next one. Maybe sometime later...
I know you are looking at that 3% and going "WTF? Why even bother writing a review if you barely scratched the surface." And, in reply, dear reader, I say the this: if any of the following is wrong or I am misunderstanding the situation, please let me know and I will finish the book. I want to read this book, it was recommended and in general sounds neat. I could not get past one particular point though and must call it quits.
What is that particular point? The presumed villain.
He is a vampire. Okay, makes sense. Our main is a werewolf and his love interest is human so a vampire as the antagonist makes sense.
He kills humans and animals indiscriminately. Alright, going for a less civilized more monstrous vamp. That can work. It would be a nice inversion of the usual cultured vamp vs blue collar werewolf.
He was Native American when he was alive. Huh, that could be a problem because of the previously mentioned more monstrous vampire thing thats going on, but not necessarily a problem yet. If done with delicacy and consideration, I dont see why this can't be done.
He is hunting a white woman on former native lands in a creepy objectifying and possessive way. NOPE! I'm out. I have read enough turn of the 19th century frontier fiction to stop right that and call it a YIKES.
So, unless I'm wrong on all counts, that will be a "no, thank you" from me
The Durham brothers live in the Great Smokey Mountains on the TN side. They are known by the Sheriff to be wolf shifters. They help find lost hikers in the mountains. They own a small ranch and raise horse. They have given up on finding their mates. Sergius Durham, the oldest brother is searching for Julianna Plolanski who is lost. He sniffs her sweater to get her scent before he leaves to find her and realizes she is his mate. There is a problem Keeton McKinney is a vampire that claims the mountains as his home and he has already found her and is the reason she is lost.
This was fun read and exciting very enjoyable. I liked it a lot.
This was a great start to the series! I love that this is a wolf shifter series! Serg and Julianna have amazing chemistry and Serg is obviously the Alpha, with his pack and in the bedroom! Can't wait to see how the rest of the series shakes out with the brothers and with the big bad vamp!
Title: Rescue in the Smokies Series: Durham Wolves Book 1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Becca Jameson Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PRN #WolfShifter #Vampire #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ ••••••••••••••••• Now this waz really an exciting book. Ms. Becca takes you to the Smokies for one he'll of a ride. I bet this series is going to be a blockbuster hit. Juliana Polanski aka: Jules is celebrating with her two friends because she has finished her Masters in Anthropology. They were all hiking up the mountain, her friends decided they wanted to stop so she started the trek up Chimney Tops Trail. But Jules gets lost than she was so tired she just wanted to sleep in her shiny mylar cover. Being rescued by a handsome man was the dream come true, he was gorgeous and she wanted to be with him so bad. Why not you only live once? Sergius Durham aka: Serg is a twenty-three year old Alpha Red Wolf Shifter with his brothers Micah and Jaxon, they live on a farm in the Smoky Mountains raising thoroughbred horses. They also help the local sheriff with things as they are well know trackers, plus sheriff knows their wolf shifters. This day is going to go down in Sergius journals because the sheriff brought clothes from the missing hiker taking one tantalizing smell, he almost passed out, he knew his life was going to change forever. Keeton McKinney is a Powerful Vampire who found a delicious red head in his woods, she smelled scrumptious. He played with her so she would go far off the trail, plus it was fun teasing her, he even enthralled her to sleep all day. Keeton heard vampires can have human mates. It would be nice not to be alone, he just had to hope he didn't drain her. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Sergius Durham and his two brothers live in the smokey mountains. They stay to themselves, raise horses and they help the police track lost hikers in the mountains. As werewolves, they are very good trackers. So when a women named Juliana gets lost, they agree to help find her. When the sheriff mentions that the local vamp is in the area, they know they have to find her before he does. Sergius, smells her clothing and knows she is his mate. He has to find her fast!
Juliana, is a seasoned hiker. So when she gets misdirected by a mysterious stranger, she has to wait for someone to rescue her. Her rescuer is not only a great tracker for finding her in the middle of no where, but also very HOT! Their attraction in immediate and almost magical. They are both drawn to one another. Juliana has no idea why but is already craving his touch.
Sergius knows the vamp wants her for a reason, otherwise why would he leave her alive. So watching for the vamp, he try to bring her to safety.
This book was great! Lots of drama, action, danger, sexy time, and a man who wants to make a woman very happy. The story between the 2, is both heartwarming and toe curling. Becca I am hoping to see a couple more in this series. Loved it!

Fun start to a new series about 3 brothers living in the mountains raising thoroughbred horses. On the side, the sheriff comes by for their help whenever a hiker gets lost in the woods. They are the best trackers for one reason, they shift into wolves to track the scent of the lost hiker, and the sheriff knows.
The three brothers are single and like it that way. but, this time, when the eldest Sergio takes a whiff of the hiker's sweater, finding her becomes more imperative, as she is his mate, and a vampire has been spotted in the area!
Warning: this is a sizzling read, as wolves who meet their mates have only one thing in mind!
It was a fast read, and it seemed the sex scenes overtook the plot, and with some paranormal romance stories... There's no build up between the couple before they are taking off their clothes. I prefer a little more romancing before the clothes come off, and a little more story to the plot. It was a fun quick read, though, and I might want to see what happens when the other two brothers meet their mates, maybe.
I've had this one sitting on my Kindle for a long time, so I thought I would 'maybe' start this series. I try to save a few books so that I don't have to just read book one, then read book 2 later and realize I don't remember book 1 at all because it's been a long time between publications. With some authors that can be more than a year (and that would be 100 plus books ago.)
I liked the story, but there isn't a satisfactory ending, and if you are on an e-reader, you might think this was an incomplete download. No, it just stops. I read the first couple of bdsm light scenes, but skimmed the rest of them. We don't really get to know Juliana or Sergius very well at all. It's a pleasant, short read, but I won't be buying the rest of the series.
This was one HOT read....story line wasn't bad, can't wait to read the next book to see which brother's story is next! If you are looking for a short, sexy read...this will do the job just fine! I recommend.
Usually I don’t read shapeshifter books, but this one series had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I really liked the storyline in this book of a lost hiker, Juliane, Who is experienced in hiking and the Sheriff knows something is remiss, so he goes to 3 brothers who are wolves and can help find missing people quickly. Serg finds her asleep and when he touches her to wake here up, he feels the attraction that only a mate can bring. Realizing that a Vampire has his eyes on Juliane, Serg must do anything in his power to protect her, so not to give the story away something happens, and Serg must do what must be done to save his mate.
Just what I needed today. Love a short and spicy story as a little palate cleanser 😆 Not much to say about this book other than the chemistry is great, the spicy scenes are hot and I’m planning to read more. If you like your men big and strong and outdoorsy and who like to take charge in the bedroom then you’re in for a treat. The fact he’s a wolf shifter was just an added bonus 😏
I would have liked to see more on the two main characters as a couple. Very abrupt ending. Second book in series just jumps right in to his brother finding a mate. Not a very thorough book in my opinion. I've read better on Wattpad, and I did not have to pay for those books.
I would give this book a 1.5/2 if the plot had been more developed. I was excited to read it, because of it being set in my current city, but there was minimal connections to Knoxville/Pigeon Forge. Mated wolves are cool, but it was heavy on the smut. Smut % > plot %.
This book was superbly written with an exciting build-up of action and the characters were believable and I couldn't help wishing for my own Smokey Mountain shifter.
Close enough to a four star read I'll probably grab the next book in the series. The substance of the story dropped into excellent erotica but once it got there the substance of the story almost disappeared, with a short resurgence before the erotica returned and the novella ended.
Juliana & Seth’s story starts fast with her rescue & moves quickly- keeping her out of the villains hands... but she’s his ‘mate’ so there’s lots of sex-
