4 "You’re my dream come true" stars

God this book was so adorable!!! Personally, I love reading about single fathers, while they're raising their baby girls on their own. This was Caleb's story. Caleb and his daughter, Madison stayed alone when his wife and his daughter's mother passed away.

Now four years after her death, Caleb never thought about other women, his heart completely stolen by his little angel. This changed when he met Abby, his daughter's teacher at kindergarten and his mother's-in-law friend.

Abby was a lonely woman, having been heartbroken by her high school sweetheart and never managed to open her heart to anyone after. Being a teacher is a job that she loves until her ex's nephew joins her class and her mother's friends granddaughter as well. Her father is a hottie, but she thinks she's not good enough, while he thinks that even though he likes her, he's not alone, but he's responsible for a kid and he can't risk making them bond and then breaking his daughter's heart.

I really enjoyed this book. Watching their fears, their thoughts, was just too precious. Madison was so adorable, especially the way she was talking and giggling. I kept having a smile on my face while reading this one. The only bummer was the lack of sex scenes, even though it was full of innuendos. Still, it was a lovely read & I thoroughly enjoyed it!

“Why do you call me squirt every time you see me?”
“Because the first time I ever had to change your diaper, I pulled back the tape, opened it up, and you squirted me.”
He started to laugh as Madison attempted to cover his mouth with her tiny hand. “Shhh, that’s private, Uncle Stefen.”

4 Beautiful, Love heals all, heart warming stars!

This is an amazing story of love, forgiveness, heartbreak and much more.
It is very well written and keeps the reader going until the very end.

People in you life don't stay forever..
Death is something that cant be predicted..
But even after loss you have to find a way to move forward..

Abby Sullivan lives a simple life in her hometown of Santa Barbara, California as a teacher. She cherishes life and has a supportive family and best friend.

When she meets Caleb Hunter things begin to change..fast! She didnt think she needed a man but Caleb is different..will everything work out for them?

"One of the biggest lessons you learn about surfing is how to operate in the present. That's really what the foundation of the entire surfing experience is."

Caleb Hunter is a successful writer who lost his wife a few years back to cancer and since then things haven't been the same. His life has become revolved around making sure everything is perfect for his daughter five-year-old daughter, Madison.

His mother-in-law who has become a mother to him since his wife passed away is pushing Caleb to start dating again but Caleb doesn't think he is ready that is until he goes to drop Madison off to kindergarten and meets Abby.

Will love be enough to heal old wounds?

I really enjoyed this book it was different to the books I usually read and I loved the characters and how it all worked out. The moments between Madison and Carter were so adorable and I was like awww!

."She was pouting. When he watched his daughter do this, she held his heart. When he witnessed this sexy woman do it, she had his soul."

It was a journey through heartbreak and loss to healing and happiness.
It shows how life is unpredictable and even when things go bad, you should always have hope for tomorrow..
Tomorrow things will be better!
This is a funny, emotional, heartbreaking, beautiful love story!

"Caleb's lips were demanding against hers until a little voice asked,"Daddy, why are you on top of Miss Abby kissing her?" CRAP!"

I was looking for a heart-warming and sweet romance read and It All Started With A Lima Bean sounded like the perfect book. The prologue was extremely moving, sad and beautiful and really drew me into the story of Caleb, Abby and of course beautiful little Madison.

As a reader, sometimes you just want to be swept away in the beauty of a story and the characters and this really was a sweet and delightful read.

As I said, the prologue really did set the scene for me. My heart went out to Caleb at this point and he certainly took a larger part of my heart when we witnessed his interactions with is enchanting daughter Madison. Oh sigh, I did adore these moments.

“He was so swoon worthy. Who wouldn’t love watching a gorgeous guy carry a child.”

Who indeed! Especially when that man is the divine, kind and wonderful widower and author, Caleb. Abby teaches at the local school which Maddison attends and is dealing with her own heartbreaking past.

There is an instant spark between Caleb and Abby. They both enjoy little flirtations here and there. but for both Abby and Caleb, moving on from painful pasts means trusting and opening their hearts. Taking that second chance at happiness. For Caleb, the thought of moving on after the passing of his wife is something he has delayed. Instead, Caleb has lived every moment since his wife’s passing, putting everything he has to give into the well-being and happiness of his daughter.

“You can’t have hope in the future if there is no peace in your past.”

This story was delivered with a sense of innocence. Both move into the relationship with trepidation yet know their hearts have been seared by the other.

This is a second chance love story dealing with loss, sadness, hope and lots and lots of love. There is no steam in this book but I didn’t miss it because the story and characters held their own in this beautifully written story.

The only reason this one doesn’t rate higher with me is because although I did feel the love between Caleb and Abby, I didn’t experience that intensity of their feelings. I found I wasn’t hanging on every page for dear life, waiting in anticipation for their relationship to develop. It was more a slow and expected build up for me.

“You have so much to offer and I would be the most blessed man to call you mine.”

Maddison completely stole my heart. The love and warmth felt on every page between Caleb and Maddison had me spellbound. It was truly was magical.

“When he watched his daughter do this she held his heart. When he witnessed this sexy woman do it, she had his soul.”

I thoroughly enjoyed It All Started With A Lima Bean. It was the perfect read at the perfect time. I would have loved to have “felt” some of the moments between Abby and Caleb instead of being told about them. For lovers of sweet contemporary romances with absolutely captivating characters, then this book is for you.

It is books like this that make me love and enjoy reading. This book just warmed by heart. I couldn't put it down but when I did I was thinking about the story and couldn't wait to get back to it. It is truly hard to believe this is a debut novel because it is so well written and so detailed and thought out. Insanely amazing book.

This is a story about Caleb (whom I absolutely adore) trying to take care of his daughter alone since he lost his wife. He keeps getting encouraged that it is time to more on since it has been 4 years but he doesn't feel ready. I must say his daughter Madison is my favorite child in a book. She is so freaking adorable and I love her so much!

Madison's teacher Abby has had a rough time with love and doesn't think there is anyone out there for her. Luckily she has an amazing best friend Leah to help her get through the rough times and talk some sense into her.

This book is the story of Caleb and Abby and it is such a great story. I can't wait for more from this author and this series. Excellent book and I recommend it for everyone!

This is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. It was so sweet, so cute, so mushy and drama free.

Caleb is a single father to Madison, he meets her kindergarden teacher, Abby who has been hurt herself in the past.

Everyone needs love and compassion to thrive

The relationship between the two was a slow moving one and it felt very believable.

My main problem with the book was I felt my attention to the book wandered off a few times and maybe some detail could have been cut down.

Perfect if your looking for a drama free, sex free, sweet romance.

Just too sickly sweet for me, liked the concept Caleb a widowed father falls for Abby his daughters teacher, although there were obstacles no real and at in the story.
If you like light chick lit with no sex and no f bombs then this is for you.
It wasn't a bad book at all just not for me .

Once in a while, you come across a book that by all standards would appear to be just an ordinary, fluffy romance. Well this isn’t one of them. No you won’t read about hot sex, as a matter of fact the main couple waited till they were married. Wow that is a lost concept these days but so refreshing to see the angst and stress that alone caused. You won’t find immature characters living for the drama and demanding that each other prove their love. No, Abby and Caleb knew from the first look that they wanted each other and that trust and desire just grew from there.

Caleb became a single father to a baby girl after his wife Rene passed away. With a family that he couldn’t count on, with childhood memories spent with his parents that he could count on one hand, he dedicated his life to his daughter. With the help of Rene’s parents, who stepped in and became Caleb’s family, he focused his free time on his novel he was writing.

Abby, a Kindergarten teacher who had a past that was keeping her in one place, focused her time and life on her school kids and her best friend. With Abby’s mom remarrying and spending her retired time with her new husband, Abby was faced with an empty schedule, boring life and the longing for more. Her past refused to allow her to move on, how can she expect a happy life after what she had done as a frighten teenager.

One sweet little girl, who wanted a mommy, two lima bean plants and a host of caring friends and family members who were determined to become match makers paved the way for Abby and Caleb to explore if there was a chance for them to find happiness. The only thing stopping them, was Abby needed to forgive and let go of her past. Caleb, knowing what it is like to have to face past mistakes guided Abby to the point of freedom from her former self and choices.

This book, although not an intense and angst filled read was priceless. I am so glad I read this and saw the life lessons that we all need to learn. How forgiveness frees yourself, not the ones who hurt you. How one little girl with a pure heart can show adults how to share love of those she has in life. How watching the love of a father and daughter can heal the emptiness you feel inside because your father left you. This book is really about life and acceptance. Beautifully written, easy flow and consistency, it is just a beautiful book that all should read.

I was so happy to see that she is already in the process of writing the next book in this series about Abby’s best friend Leah and Caleb’s cousin. I was hoping that their story wouldn’t end at Abby and Caleb’s happy ever after. I am also still needing more of Madison’s innocent moments as the little pumpkin who helped bring her daddy and momma together.

I downloaded this book while on vacation because I read everything else I had {because I was sick :(} The synopsis said it was clean and it looked cute, so I went for it. *Regrets*

What I didn't like
1.) Nothing about this book is clean. Nothing actually happens between any of the characters, but there are so many innuendos and "My thoughts are going down this inappropriate road" scenes, that I was not happy. Honestly, they should remove the "This is a clean romance book" from the description. Just because nothing happens, doesn't make it clean. Although I was warned, the language was so much worse than I expected, too.

2.) This book is a classic example of telling, not showing in writing. The grammar and spelling were pretty bad (or the editing, anyway), which always bugs me. I'm pretty sure I could have written something like this--and I'm not a good writer by any means.

3.) There was way too much going on. The Power Moms, Peter, Blaine liking Abby, Tiffany's problems, Stefan and Bri's problems, Leah's mom and sister, Lisa, Abby's insecurities about her mom... It was just way too much for one story. I understand it was setting things up for the rest of the series, but I've seen set-ups like this done so much better. Just mentioning something would suffice--no need to devote an entire chapter or more to each situation. Abby also asked herself a lot of questions after a remark someone made, but there was never an answer to them. It just bugged me.

4.) Abby had to transfer to the fifth grade?! Really?! The entire Power Moms thing was ridiculous, but that was just dumb. The principal really should've told the moms Madison was transferred, they aren't breaking any rules, and there was nothing else he needed to do. I hardly agree with transferring Madison, but transferring Abby was completely unnecessary.

5.) I couldn't tell if this was supposed to be Christian Fiction or not. There was mention of God and forgiveness, but nothing really ever came from it. Yeah, Abby forgave Peter, but that part was so small compared to the rest of the book. It wasn't really given the time it needed.

At first I was going to write things I liked about this book, too. But the more I read it the less I had to write about the good parts. It was basically a train wreck from the beginning. I have no inclination to read anything from this author again {especially given the description of the next book in this series.}

Five Fantastic Stars!! If you are looking for an outstanding stand alone this is the book for you!! It was like a breath of fresh air to read something that breaks the mold. If you are looking for insta-love, angst, virgins and a ton of sex then this book is not for you. If you are looking for a true love story, a swoon worthy lead man and a independent woman then this is definitely the book you are looking for!! Caleb Hunter is left a widower and now has to raise his sweet daughter Madison on his own. Abby Sullivan is strong independent woman who is a kindergarten teacher. Teaching is her passion and she is excited to start a brand new school year. Little did she know, this was going to be the best year of teaching that she has ever had. Fate brings two unsuspecting people together, with a little help from a meddling mother in law and a best friend, and what happens next is pure happiness. This book is good for the soul and it helps remind you that anything is possible; that true happiness and soul mates do exist. This is a MUST READ!!!

3.5 stars

Caleb has been a widowed dad for 4 yrs now. Hasn't full moved on since the death of his wife, Rene. He loves, cares for and raises his daughter, Madison, surfs and writes books. He hasn't even felt the urge to date again. That is until the 1st day of kindergarten and meeting her new teacher. Ms Abby

Abby is a sweet young teacher who is very shy and easily embarrassed. This is a slow building romance. A standalone read within a series. There will be obsticles they must need to pass. His regrets losing Rene, her ex and their dark past, the ex's family, his family. But with the help of her best friend, Leah. His mother-in-law Grace and the adorable daughter, Madison these two have a fighting chance.

I'll will tell you why this only got a 3.5 and not a 4-5 like most will give it. I aint one for the sappy romance and that is what this is....with no sex! I like a few twist and I was sure this book would have with with all the possible suspects. Her ex and their issues, the stuck up moms at her school, his past, the ex's brother, etc etc. but alas it was simply a romance. Still enjoyable but not the bang for the buck I need to love a read.

This book is so sickly sweet its unreal and I loved every single second!! For a book to start at such a low point and end on such a high is amazing. It really is a journey you fall into with the characters so deeply. Kimi is truly an amazing writer

The book starts on a really low note after our amazing male lead Caleb, (Such a sexy name isn’t it) traumatically loses his wife. He’s naturally heartbroken and the story watches his progression with learning to deal with this loss. His saving grace is his adorable little daughter Madison. Caleb desperately wants to find happiness again and by some twist of fate, Madison’s teacher Abby turns out to be that saviour. Abby is a teacher and battling with her own luggage due to a less than idyllic past when it comes to love. Abby is kind, caring and sweet as hell throughout this book and you can’t help but feel that she really deserved some good to happen. That’s what makes this book such a killer – because you really really want them to find that happiness together.

One of the many things I loved about this book was how the relationship between Abby and Caleb progressed. They didn’t meet and instantly fall in love, have babies and live happily ever after. The build up to their relationship was incredibly sweet, romantic and to be brutally honest, refreshing.

I’m hoping that there is a second book, if not about Abby and Caleb but maybe Leah… hint hint! There were a few really amazing side characters in this book which really helped pull it into the amazing book hat it is. I wouldn’t change a thing. I loved every second! <3 Kimi Flores is actually amazing and I am now stalking her on goodreads and I can assure you, you all will too after reading this!

I LOVED this story....

I took a chance and added this to my TBR list a few months back. I took a greater chance today pulling it up on my kindle to read it. Man am I glad that I did. This book is beautiful. It is not often you get a book where one of your main characters is a widow and a dad. It is not often you find a book where you truly LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HEROINE!!!! This book has it all.

This story is about two people who with a little encouragement from those around them get a chance at love.

I LOVED Abby, she was strong, she was cute, she was so amazing. Her whole attitude throughout the book was amazing. She had so much compassion.

Caleb, swoon worthy, totally melted my heart from page one. He and his daughter Madison (who I absolutely ADORED) first meet Abby at school where she is going to be Madison's Kindergarten teacher.

What I actually LOVED the most about this story was the build up of their relationship and it did not even involve sex. YUP you heard me throughout this entire book they did not have sex once, but you know what Even though I love a good sex scene in a book this one was beautiful without it.

Caleb and Abby get to know each other, they take Madison into consideration with all their choices they make.

This book is definitely high on my Favorite list of reads. It was sweet, emotional, and truly made me feel like I was right their within the story. If your looking for an amazing read and an Awesome HEA then I would suggest this book to you !!!!!

I can not wait for the next book in this series with Abby’s best friend Leah and Caleb’s cousin Stefen.

Okay, so I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. Initially, the title is what caught my attention, it sounds super cute & quirky, like it would make for a fun read. So I really did have high hopes when I started reading it. While it was definitely a sweet enjoyable story, I just didn't feel like there was any major conflict or ups and downs. It was basically just the telling of a story without a whole lot of action going on.

The main character, Abby Sullivan, was a little too weak for my liking. She doesn't have to be an abrasive bitch, but she could've at least had somewhat of a backbone and stood up for herself when necessary. Instead she would just cry and walk away when insulted. The writing was clean and flowed nicely, the characters definitely modeled your average person which helps in being able to relate to them, but I just wasn't feeling it. I never really got hooked into the story or worried how it was going to turn out.

Even though the story focuses on the lives of adults I would have to categorize this as Young Adult. It has a mature storyline but absolutely no sex, so if you like a bit of steaminess in your books you won't find it here. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I think maybe it could've helped hold my attention a little bit better.

This is a good book. This book is a sweet love story. It will have you rooting for a happy ever after for all characters involved.

Abby has been through a lot if heartache in her life. She doesn't want to date, because men only cause her pain. So she focuses on teaching kindergarten. She loves kids and enjoys teaching them. So when she sees Caleb for the first time she is surprised to have such a reaction to him. Since his daughter is in her class will she give him a chance? Can she overcome all the heartache and love Caleb?

Caleb is a writer and a widower with a little girl, Madison. He doesn't want to replace his wife. He never thought he could love another woman. When he met Abby, his daughters teacher, he never expected to be attracted to her. He hasn't looked at another woman that way since his wife died. How long can he fight their attraction? Will he be able to risk Madison’s and his heart to let Abby into their lives?

It was a little long for me. I needed it to be at a faster pace. With that said I still think it is worth the read. Well done Kimi!!

Such a heartwarming story and just what I needed! I adored the relationship between Abby & Caleb. These two heartbroken people found love again and that its ok to move on from tragedy. Abby was such a sweet, compassionate person who deserved to find her Prince Charming. I loved how she grew and got a backbone when she really needed to put some horrible people in their places. Caleb *swoon*, this man was in one word perfect! An amazing father, friend and boyfriend. I was so happy he found his true love after going through so much loss. I absolutely loved the supporting characters. They just added such fun and heart to the story. My favorites were Grace (sweetest woman ever!) and Madison (cutest kid ever!). I can't wait to read more from this author and series. After reading stories that have tons of sex and dark subjects it great to read a sweet, fun book to put you in a good mood and a smile on your face after your through. I am very excited for Leah & Stefan's book. I know it will be a good one and with a guy like Stefan definitely full of angst ;)

It All Started With a Lima Bean...it's one of those titles you look at and think to yourself that the title alone makes you curious enough to crack the book. It doesn't take long to get sucked into this story. Abby is a down-to-earth school teacher. You can easily relate to her. You can't help but root for her. She's the girl-next-door kind of girl who, if she were real, I'd love to have as my best friend. Then, there's Caleb...the swoon-worthy picture of perfection. While he's struggling with the loss of his wife, you just want to hug him. He's such a good father to Madison. You can't help but hope he and Abby end up together. What a match made in heaven! If you want a feel-good, pick-me-up book, then this book is just for you! Read it! You won't be disappointed!

The author takes us on an emotional journey with Abby and Caleb. I so hoped while reading this that they overcame their heartache and find peace and happiness. Of course you will need to read this to find out:)
I loved these two characters. Caleb's daughter Madison was brilliant and the other characters were the icing on the cake.

A light and heart warming story about finding love for the second time and all about family.

I just couldn't help it when it comes to stories about family like this one is. Madison made me smile a lot throughout the whole book and Caleb being a great dad to her really touched my heart. I felt Abby's happiness about finding the two.
