I don't really know what to say about this. I didn't hold my interest very long. Some things about the story just didn't sit well with me.

First off, if you are an Alpha, you should know all things regarding your pack. So, how come Mustang didn't know he turned Gray? How did he not know how this is done? His explanation was since he made it a law not to turn humans he never learned or bothered. WTF?????

Another thing I didn't like was the fact they killed Gray. I know, explain right? Since Gray went to a "human" hospital when he started to get sick, one of the "pack" doctors, who by the way are stationed in every hospital, classified him as dead. Gray was told all of this in the hospital. I don't blame Gray for being pissed off. You wake up and someone tells you you're dead and can't go back to your life. I'd be pissed off too. What kind of crap is that???

Another thing I didn't like was the heavy BSDM. I don't mind it in my stories but it was like 80% of the damn book. Mustang actually punished Gray for being pissed off that he couldn't go back to his life. WTF??? I was actually happy when Gray ran away. I was actually hoping he stayed away.

We are not even going to start on the circle enforcers. WTF??? If Gray can't adapt in 3 days he doesn't get to live. That was my impression. Again, WTF????

I found myself skipping most of the book. When I wasn't doing that I kept putting it aside to come back to. I do not like this world at all. I doubt I'll be reading anymore of this series. It's just not for me.

There was one thing I did like about the book. Gray turned out to be an Omega. Why did I like that fact you ask? Well because Omegas are higher ranking than the Alphas! They are the Circle Enforcers, which is their council! The Alphas answer to them. That one thing however, did not dominate the 20+ things I didn't like.

Now keep in mind this is my opinion. If you are into heavy bsdm you might like it. I didn't.

I actually liked it a lot. Grayson and Mustang are strong characters in their own right. Loved the dynamic of a turned human bogling the mind of an established alpha - "The fact that he was an Omega didn’t penetrate, really. Who the hell ever heard of a turned Omega?"

Good secondary characters...would love to know more about Cian and his "house dynamics"

BDSM and I are not really friends, but there are a few books that I absolutely adore! This book is looking to be a very good starting point for this series.

Hm a bit different from other shifter stories I've read. How their wolf side is described was a new one for me and I actually kinda liked it. I like the fact that this breaks the stereotype of the submissive role. Because Grayson is not a little guy at all.

There were a lot of sex scenes in this one, definitely erotica. But the BDSM wasn't anything I haven't read before (even the sounding haha). And I only mean that in the sense that it wasn't too much for me. I'm not into really hardcore stuff, and this wasn't out of my comfort zone. Grayson was referred to as a "pain-slut" but really the most painful things they did were of course biting (duh, shifters), nipple clamps, a LIGHT flogger and only the one time, and the pleasure-pain of a withheld orgasm (albeit with a cock ring and a sounding rod, but that was actually pretty hot ;P). Oh and the first time Gray got off with Mustang was when he was actually being tattooed, so that's a pain thing. But see? Not the whips and such that come to mind with the word "pain-slut".

So I give it about 3.5 stars, because while the sex was hot, I wanted just a bit more plot. And also for the supporting characters. I can't wait to read Cian, Kane, and Abel's story. And maybe find out more about the human that Cian wasn't allowed to turn in the past.

I have serious issues about all the scenes and the BDSM dynamic that were in the book. First of all, when Mustang tattoed Gray for the first time he barely comforted him afterwards, like ?????? The second time they did a scene, in the club, he also didn't and he left leaving Grayson alone while dressing up.
I don't like that Grayson in the dynamic of their relationship is not allowed a say in it, like not for being a sub you're less of a person or less valid than your Dom; it just doesn't sit right with me.
The fact that he also is not allowed to be pissed, when his whole life changed so drastically is a no-no for me; damn he isn't even allowed to think, is not like he scaped, he left a note.
Mustang sometimes shows display of being a real Dom but most of the time is just a boy who doesn't know how to deal with others having their own opinions and being their own person.
Independently if you like BDSM or not, i think this books shows inadequate etiquette and an inaccurate example of how a healthy 24/7 D/s dynamic should be.

I really really enjoyed this, It gives a really interesting slant to the whole werewolf / shifter and even D/s world and group dynamic... and what a dynamic this is lol.
This is book one is the series and I can not wait for more, now that we have been introduced to some of the characters and learned how their world ticks I have a feeling things are going to get even more interesting in the future books.
I must make a point of saying the the smoking hot love scenes in this are .. well wow lol.

I always know Im going to get an entertaining, sexy and emotional read from this writer and Im soo glad to say this is another great one from Jana.

Next in the series here I come....

If you like hardcore BDSM with werewolves, you will like this. While well-written with strong world building, it just wasn't my thing. Which is why I am not rating it.

Although I didn't quite agree with the reduction of werewolf culture to BDSM relationship I still found this book interesting. I'm not a fan of BDSM romances and haven't read any, mostly because they seem to be very exploitative relationships. For the first time it clarified for me what a D/s relationship is and why someone would choose to enter such a relationship. My only previous example of that was Fifty Shades of Gray and apart from the writing and plot and character problems, one of the biggest things that didn't sit right with me was that Christian simply told Anna she was submissive and proceeded to push her into this intense relationship without fully examining whether she really was interested in or cut out for it. In this book, both parties are fully aware of what they're signing up for and even then proceeded with caution. There is also repeated emphasis on the that fact Grayson's need to submit does not make him weak and that even though Mustang is the Dom, his power derives entirely from Grayson's decision to submit. Mustang as the Dom might have the control, both they share the power in the relationship. I still think that there's huge amounts of room for abuse, more than in an ordinary relationship, but I can now understand why it appeals to some people.

That being said I did have some problems with the book. Grayson having to suddenly face all these changes without been given some time to deal with them is something I didn't quite agree with. I also felt that Mustang could have occasionally been gentler. And again, I think that saying that a wolf is submissive immediately reduces them to a sexual submissive is too simplistic a conclusion. In all this was an enlightening (which is why I gave it three stars) but not incredibly enjoyable.

The pain is pleasure BDSM life makes no sense to me. Strangely, I really liked this book, though. Granted, to someone who actually likes those books, this is probably mild (or sugar kink). I bought the book because the story is a little different. The shifter world is straight up D/s, no exceptions. I was betting on the story being enough to out weigh the kink. For me it did. I liked the MCs, and the secondary characters. Easy to read, some minor angst, but mostly easy solutions. I would like to give this a 4, but not quite that engaging.

I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed this one. There was an accidental mating after an intense BDSM scene, tattooing, hot wolves, and even sounding. I had a kinky Saturday night! Mustang is the Alpha of his pack and is shocked to be instantly drawn to the frat boy in his shop for a tattoo. A big guy, Grayson is not what most people think of a submissive, but he yearns to be dominated. Mustang promises him one night. Of course, fate has a little bit more in mind.

This started off looking like another forgettable but alright read. But then it turned into something more. I liked the glimpse into the pack hierarchy, and how it was both familiar and different at the same time.

I liked the BDSM. You don't see sounding scenes all that often.

I liked the growth in Grayson.

Being BDSM books I wasn't sure about them but I enjoyed them. They are heavy on the story and characters. The scenes are an important part of the story but not the focus.
