Forewarned is a warning to people to heed God's voice when they are tempted to do things that could lead to harm. Jasmine in all of her gullibility truly believed she was immune to internet predators. She's also very accident prone (poor thing.) Living alone didn't make her any safer either. Her best friend Jack is there for her but she fails to see that his concern for her runs much deeper than friendship ... at first.

Through various events that pull them apart and then push them back into each other's arms, they discover things about their relationship that take it to another level. Jazzy is a bit stubborn (that's putting it mildly) and confused about what she wants in life. Jack is more sure of what he wants, but neither of them like to take risks. It's only when things escalate that Jazzy allows Jack to intervene.

Anyway, this story is suspenseful and it's also a warning to heed that still, small voice that niggles you when you are making a choice that will lead to your eventual destruction. The Lord knows what will help us and what will harm us. We need to trust His wisdom. God's voice doesn't beckon us to limit our fun in life, but to protect us ... if only we would listen.

Jasmine didn’t want to rely on her sister Chloe. She was lonely, scared, but despite her handicaps, she wanted independence. Getting out with blizzard weather wasn’t for her causing more pain. She goes on the internet to find people to chat with. Jack is like a brother to her, though others say there is more there than she thinks. When she does see him she wants to hug him. A heart warming story, of how she came to realize what Jack meant to her.

Forewarned by Debra Ullrick is a wonderful, suspenseful book that kept me on the edge of my chair and chewing on a fingernail. Jasmine Moore lives in Steamboat Springs, Colorado but due to a near fatal accident, she can no longer stand the frigid cold of the winters in the area. Jack Warren has been Jasmine’s friend since they were young children. He has been in love with Jasmine for years and wants only to marry her and love her for the rest of their lives but she has a problem with trust even though she wants the same thing. Because the cold is so painful for Jasmine, she spends most of her time inside which leads to boredom. She decides to start chatting with friends online and connects with a man with the screen name of Simonrapport who sounds like every woman’s dream. Jack warns her about chatting with men online and even though she has slight feelings of danger, Jasmine continues to chat with Simon and soon finds herself in great danger.

The plot of the story was very well done and all the twists and turns in the action kept me guessing from page to page and I found it almost impossible to put the book down when I needed to do something other than read. All the characters were expertly developed and their dialogue was well written and easy to follow which made for an easy read. The realistic descriptions of the scenery had me feeling the cold of the snow and the joy of walking in the woods. The story was quite inspiring and without being critical or preachy, the author revealed that online chatting with strangers can lead to danger. Except for the bad guys, all the characters in the story showed by their daily living that God played a very important part in their lives. Jasmine and Jack were often praying for guidance and protection and God provided for their needs.

I very highly recommend this book to everyone who likes a story with a heart touching romance and lots of suspense to keep you guessing to the very end.

Thank you to Debra Ullrick, the author, for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Okay, 300 pages in half a day. This is a GREAT book! I thoroughly enjoyed it and am excited to share with you just how good it is.

Jasmine, Choe, and Shanelle are identical triplets. Jack has been best friends with Jasmine since they were in elementary school. As these friendships grow, they start to fall for one another, at different times —of course. They don’t want to lose their treasured relationship, so they’d rather risk LOVE.

In the meantime, due to some previous injuries, Jasmine can’t really go out in the cold much. Living up in the mountains of Colorado, she ends up cooped up in her house eight months of the year. Deciding to develop friendships online to pass the time, she opens and Instant Messenger Chat and meets some interesting people, and not just in the good sense.

Between people she meets online and wanted criminals in the area there are three possible villains. It kept me wondering if they were all the same person. If she was going to be attacked by each one at different times. Maybe one guy would attack and the other would attack that one to get him out of the way. Perhaps she and Jack would end up catching a bad guy before he does anything to her. There are just SO many possibilities.

And of course, while all the havoc of threatening phone calls, weird tracks in the snow and news of peeping toms, Jack’s and Jasmine’s love for each other blossoms, but is in much of a tangled tango. Oh how I LOVED this book. I would definitely say it is for people who love Christian Romance.

I also liked that Debra, the author, included a note to the reader at the end. Again reinforcing that you should Trust God, Listen to God, Obey God, and Talk to God. Many of us ask Him what we should do, then let our own thoughts get in the way. This is very clearly portrayed in Forewarned. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

In Debra Ullrick’s book, Forewarned, Jackson Warren is a man in a relationship with God first, and second, one who wants to be in a romantic relationship with his best friend and girl of his dreams, Jasmine Moore. However, Jasmine does not see Jack in the same way, is not aware of his deep love for her, nor aware of her love for him as a man. Because she is housebound and recovering from an accident, she is somewhat bored, feeling smothered by her well-wishing friends and family members, dislikes the cold temperatures where she lives, and is looking for a diversion. Thus, she seeks out a relationship with a man through Cyberspace – the result of a chance Internet meeting.

This book is a combination of suspense and love, part thriller and part romance, is full of intrigue and will keep your attention on high alert. There is a strong message throughout the story emphasizing our need to listen to our inner promptings and warnings, the still small voice of God, and the advice of friends and family. Jasmine insists on living her life without constant dependence on others – especially Jack and her sisters – and has a stubborn streak which ultimately ends up haunting her.

I found the plot to be fascinating, and needless to say, I was hooked from the first sentence and held captive to the last page. Debra writes about unforgettable characters who draw you in to their complex lives so you can experience right along with them what they’re going through day by day. Her descriptive writing brings you directly into every scene where you’ll experience emotions and encounters right along with her interesting cast of characters. You may find yourself praying for them and cheering with them, and you might even want to reach right through the pages and strangle a couple of them!

This was a fun, suspense-filled book, and I’m glad I took the time to read it. Debra is a great writer and reading her books is a rewarding experience.

Jasmine Moore lives in Steamboat Springs where the winters are harsh and bitter cold. Due to an accident she can no longer handle the cold. She wants to move to her grandfather's lake cabin in the south and also to get away from her overprotective sisters. If she moves she will not only leave her sisters behind but Jack, her longtime friend.

Because Jasmine is cooped up for so many months in her home, she decides to make some friends via the internet. In doing so, she puts herself in danger.

Can Jasmine find the friends she is looking for? Are the worries that her sisters and Jack have, unsubstantiated? Are Jasmine's choices what she wants or what God wants?

I enjoyed this story and really hoped that it would be one that was too far fetched, but in reality it isn't. We all need to be more cautious with our decisions and the information that we reveal to others.

Ullrick writes a great mystery romance. Her writing talent shows with each chapter that is written. This was a quick, easy read that kept you wondering throughout the book. I give this 4.5 stars

This book made a gripping read with some unique & refreshing imagery.Jasmine gets herself caught up in a dangerous online romance largely because winter exacerbates her chronic pain & so she is confined indoors. Unfortunately a degree of selfishness causes her to misread her family/friends loving warnings as them being over-protective & cloying. Unaware of her stalker following, she leaves town without trace & does achieve some self-awareness, despite her life being in jeopardy! Although the book was an exciting read,I'm only giving it a 4 - I had some frustrations with it - at 1 point we had minute by second account, then in the next chapter we have suddenly jumped 3 weeks ! I think the author could have benefited from a medical advisor - eg. someone fainting following serious concussion should have immediately had medical supervision. There are loose ends - why didn't Chloe call the police as intended or maybe she did ? I'm sure Jasmine would have done so herself anyway in real life. Some passages, especially the romantic bits, were a bit long. Finally, I will read more of Debra Ullrick, but I am hoping for more careful editing and writer development.

SUMMARY:
Lonely in the winter months, Jasmine turns to finding social interaction online. When her friends warn her of potential danger, she does not heed their warnings. Her best friend, Jack, attempts to protect Jasmine from danger even after she refuses his help. Although forewarned, Jasmine enters a most dangerous situation…

A PENNY FOR MY THOUGHTS:
The novel’s plot keeps the pages turning due to the author alluding to the coming danger. The author’s excellent technique of balancing intense and peaceful moments makes for a thrilling read. The novel explores the potential dangers of the internet which provides an excellent opportunity to use the book as a learning tool. The book has the ability to serve as a great read for both parent and student as the book forewarns readers without alarming them.

MY RATING:
4 (out of 5) pennies

This was the first book I have read by Debra Ullrick and also my very first review. I love reading Christian suspense/thrillers. This by far was one of the best ones I have read to date. It took me time to read it, not because I couldn't get into the book, but that I had to read in between work and working at home.

I loved the dynamic between the main character, her sisters and her "best" friend. The author made them so that I could relate with all of them at one time or another. I was kept guessing until the end. I will not go into details as I don't want to give spoilers away. The message I took away from reading this book was that we need to listen to God. Because we are humans, it is very hard to do that. Anyway, I will say I will probably read this book again and let both of my daughters read it as well. Kudos to Ms. Ullrick and I can't wait to read more by her.

This is a great story about dangers in life and how the answers to prayers can be followed or ignored, based on what the person praying really wants. Jasmine finds an interesting man online who makes her feel special because he seems to care about her and the things going on in her life. Since she got herself lost and injured, she's felt overwhelmed by her family and her best friend Jack. Now she feels the need to get away from all of them so her life can start going in the direction she wants it to go. When her family and Jack find out about her internet friend, they are even more persistent in their need to protect her and Jasmine makes some choices based on her beliefs that turn out not being very good choices. But God finally breaks through her barriers and she starts seeing things for what they really are.

Really enjoyed this clean, inspirational story.

After Jasmine survives a fierce accident, the harsh, cold winter weather of Colorado affects her with constant pain. Not able to get out much, she goes online hoping to find new friends to chat with during the long winter. Since Jasmine's accident her two sisters are suffocating her with their watching over her. Her best friend, Jack, is also hovering over her because he cares about her. Jack convinces Jasmine that two of her online friends may be a danger to her. Jasmine wants to move to warmer climate but she will have to leave behind Jack and her sisters. Jack fears she will not be safe alone anywhere she may go. Suspense abounds, setting descriptions are strong, and the memorable characters will stay with you after the last page.

I told my kids that all the time. (If you have to hide it, you know you shouldn't be doing it.) I liked this book a lot- the internet poses a lot of dangers, that are often ignored. Each time Jazzy innocently gave out just a tad of information, thinking it was just an innocent piece of information, I cringed. It's TOO easy to put all those pieces together, and someone looking to harm you- it doesn't take long...Then there are the times the Holy Spirit talks to us, and that is ignored. This book engaged you and you keep pushing until you can be sure that everything turns out okay. I was given a copy of this book for my honest review.

Well, Debra Ullrick has done it once again. This book was AWESOME! I was hanging on the edge of my seat with each turn of the page. I was completely caught up, and swept away in this captivating story. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down.

Have you ever wondered if you should do something when you had a feeling not to do it, and you did it anyways? Well, after reading FOREWARNED, it will certainly make you think twice about doing it again.

What a fantastic read. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

A relevant message for today's world. I enjoyed the Scripture spinkled throughout the book and the story was great. I got emotionally involved with Jasmine Moore and Jack Warren - even to the point of scolding Jasmine out loud while I was reading..ha I was very judgmental of Jasmine through the first part of the book, but soon recognized that maybe I haven't done the same online - but I have ignored that whisper of warning, or 'gut feeling' from the Holy Spirit because I was determined to do what I wanted to do.

Great message, great story, great writing!

This book was given to me by the author in return for my review.

This is the love story of two long time friends, Jack and Jazzy. This book reminds us that God always loves us and we should always trust us even when we do not understand what is happening in our mist. It also shows us that conversing in the Internet with strangers can also be dangerous. It is a nice and clean story of love that I recommend to those us who love reading inspirational stories. I highly recommend it.

Annoying

I agree with some of the other reviews I have read. The leading lady is foolish and self-centered. She's like the stupid chick you yell at in the horror movies to "don't go in there!" The book dragged. I lost interest about halfway in and started skipping (because I like to know the ending), and it was still difficult to finish. Sadly, I would not recommend this to anyone.

Nice .

Not enough mystery and a little too much melodrama. Would have helped if there had been some more in depth development of the characters. Still it was interesting. Thanks Debra Ullrick.
