The book “Will You Come Back For Me” by Ann Tompert is classified as fictional book, targeting ages 3 and up; the illustrations are multicultural. This story is a good choice for reassuring children and acknowledging that being left at preschool or daycare (especially for the first time) can be incredibly scary. It is a comforting story that will give little ones and preschoolers some security and comfort that their family loves them and their family will be back to pick them up at the end of the day.

This story explains the daily routine of a day at school. It can be used to discuss the anxious feelings associated with morning drop-offs and to reassure children that parents always come back at the end of the day. I like how the author incorporated diversity into the story. I would use this book with elementary school-age children because the pictures and words are small and the book is lengthy.

While this book is good for promoting social emotional skills and family relationships it is rather long. The pictures are colorful, but small due to all the writing on the pages. I would use this as a book to look at and maybe read to certain students who need it within a small group, so that the pictures could be seen to help intrigue the children to sit through the whole story.

This is an extremely long book that would be best read in segments to young children. I think this book would be more appropriate for pre-kindergarten children and up, because it is so lengthy. However, this is a good social/emotional book that teaches children that "mommy's and daddy's always come back".

This is really a good story of a pre-school child who hated school, and cried every day to go to school. This book shows parents different systems they can come up with to solve the problems and helping their little ones get adjusted to change. This book is exactly what every 4 years old needs. This book speaks directly to those fears and helps us, as parents to get on their level.

This book expresses social and emotional growth as well as the relationship between a mother and her daughter. The books illustrations aren't as big as some other books. I wouldn't use this for Pre-k possibly first grade because they would lose interest very quickly.

This was a good story to read to children that are about to start a new school, go away to visit someone. A great story to reassure a child that their parents or, family members are going to come back to pick them up after they leave.

Great book . Is a good story to help children prepare for school or other times of separation from their parents. I liked the part about the red heart and I think it's something I may incorporate with little children.

Many children question if their parents will return, and others have not doubt they will or fear if they dont ;), yet for those who need reassurance this book can help. It follows a family and little girl, Suki, who is afraid to leave her mom to go to school at the age of 4.

Suki is worried her first day of school of her mom coming back for her. Nice book showing how nervous children may feel their first day of school, but reassuring to know their parents will return for them.

The story is kind of long. It seems it is suitable to read it by parents first, then teachers. This book will reassure the security to children that parents will come to pick them up at day care/school. It will help frustrated children who attend in the new schools or/and separate with parents.

Great book to read on the first day of school. Children can feel welcoming to new students because of this book.

1. I liked this book because it shows what a child feels like when they are dropped off at school or at a day care center. This book shows the type of emotions that happen when the child has to be separated by mom or dad. I like how the dialogue is so realsitic because I've heard parents say words from the book to their children and I find it really helpful for them to explain it in that way.
2. I think a child would like this book because they can relate it to themselves. Especially from infants to ten year old maybe because they're the ones who feel more emotion when they leave their parents. I would try to read this book with emotion as if I am the child and the parents, but ill change my tone of voice when I am changing character.

Realistic Fiction:

This book is great, like many others, in helping children prepare for school or other times of separation from their parents. A good way to introduce little ones to the idea of their parents or guardians leaving them at school or daycare. I enjoyed the part about the red heart and think it's something I may incorporate with my little one.

Great book to talk to young children how they feel when mommy or daddy drops them to school. Let them know they will be picked up no matter what. Teaches social and emotional.
