146 books33 followersFollowing in her father's footsteps, Elizabeth Power wanted to be a writer from a very early age. Once she realised that copying Rupert Bear stories word for word from her albums wasn't really the thing to do, she was on her way!
By the age of fourteen, Elizabeth had produced her first full-length novel—alas! never published—and by the age of fifteen her teenage years meant life was so full that all literary ambitions became somewhat overshadowed.
Married in her early twenties, Elizabeth found that the needs of the home became her priority. Despite the ever present nagging little voice in her conscience that constantly reminded her of those unfulfilled writing ambitions, the creativity had stopped.
A few weeks before her thirtieth birthday, Elizabeth was thinking about what she had done with her first thirty years and realised she had been telling herself that she would "start writing tomorrow" for at least twelve of them! She couldn't help wondering, "whatever happened to that dream?" Within two weeks her "tomorrow" would come when fate took a hand in the form of redundancy!
Writing was now Elizabeth's life. After several attempts, the letter that was to change her life arrived from Mills & Boon. They wanted to publish her book. The novels flowed, and they have continued to publish her books ever since.
Living in England's beautiful West Country, she likes nothing better than taking walks with her husband along the coast or in the adjoining woods, and enjoying all that nature has to offer.
Travelling ranks very highly among Elizabeth's pleasures, and so many places she has visited have been recreated in her books.
Of her writing, emotional intensity is paramount. She says, "Times, places and trends change, but emotion is timeless." A powerful storyline with maximum emotion set in a location in which one can really live and breathe whilst the story unfolds is what she strives for.

Tłem dla romansu z harlequinowej serii "Światowe Życie Extra" jest tytułowe Monte Carlo. W książce poznajemy dziennikarkę Rayne Hardwicke. Kobieta chce wyrównać rachunki z przeszłości z mężczyzną, którego znała przed laty - z Kingsleyem Clayborne’m. W tym celu wyjeżdża właśnie do Monte Carlo. Tam spotyka Kingsley'a. Mężczyzna, wraz ze swoim ojcem - Mitchem, zbudował wielkie imperium i dorobił się milionów. Niestety wszystko to odbyło się kosztem ojca Rayne. Dziewczyna pragnie zemsty, co jednak jest skomplikowane, gdyż Rayne będąc nastolatką kochała Kingsleya. Pech chce, że teraz te uczucia odżywają i to ze wzmożoną siłą…
Jak potoczą się ich losy? Czy Rayne zemści się na Kingsley'u i jego ojcu? Co tak naprawdę wydarzyło się przed laty, co doprowadziło do dramatycznych wydarzeń, mających taki wpływ na przyszłość rodziny Rayne? Odpowiedzi na te i inne pytania należy szukać w książce Elizabeth Power.
Naiwne, niekiedy głupawe dialogi i opisy sytuacji. Oklepane określenia w opisach "niewyobrażalnie przystojnego mężczyzny" oraz głupie, ocierające się o śmieszność wybuchy namiętności, w których "wiruje cały świat", przenosząc bohaterów do "równoległego kosmosu". Wszystko to można by było jeszcze strawić, gdyby nie fakt, że fabuła tego romansu jest mało ciekawa, chwilami miałam wrażenie, że chaotyczna. Słaba książka, którą ratują tylko ostatnie dwa rozdziały i to tylko z powodu dość niestandardowych (dla tego typu opowieści) dramatycznych rozwiązań. Jednak to za mało, aby uznać ją za co najwyżej przeciętną.
Tytuł, który spokojnie można sobie odpuścić, albo (tak, jak ja zrobiłam) przeczytać, żeby się z tej głupoty pośmiać.

A Delicious Deception is amazing, addictive, modern and HOT! I absolutely loved it and was drawn from the very first page!
The characters are unlike any I've ever read about before. They were so descriptive and their whole story, past and present was intriguing. I couldn't help but read another page ..... then another till the very end! :)
The author has made me want to check out her others novels and I can't wait to do so!

Without giving away the story, I can only say that it was quite an enjoyable read for the first two thirds of it but then a sudden veering off from the track seemed just designed to fill in the pages. I found the medical part a bit hard to believe - I don't think any doctor would advise what they did in the circumstances in the book. The last part rather took me away from the book otherwise I would have given it four stars.

This was a great novel and for being a 'newer' one I was so very impressed. I loved the heroine and how brave she was. The hero was kind of an ass for the most part of the book. I felt there was some loose ends with Mitch and the heroines mother but other than that, it was great.

Me ha gustado bastante el carácter de los protagonistas, y como el amor va haciendo estragos en los planes que cada uno tenía en mente, al fin y al cabo el destino siempre puede jugar con trampas y Rayne y Kingsley terminan por descubrirlo. Recomendable

This has to be one of Elizabeth Power's best yet. She writes with such depth and emotion, this was a real page turner. Loved it!
