Unscripted With Mila

Rate this book
From NYT bestselling author Melanie Moreland comes a story of finding love, acceptance and happiness when you least expect it. Mila Morrison prefers the silent company of her keyboard to that of people. She lives vicariously through the characters she creates.
Nicholas Scott only feels comfortable when he's playing the role of someone else. He would rather be anyone but himself.
Both of them are hiding, too afraid to let anyone in.
Their attraction is unscripted, as is the bond that forms between them.
When the world around them threatens to tear them apart, are they strong enough to make the final scene?
Or will their affair end up on the cutting room floor?

Unscripted with Mila is the sixth and final book in the Vested Interest: ABC Corp series by Melanie Moreland. Everyone knows I always read books out of order. So Van was the first book I read in the Vested Interest series, and my second book ever by Melanie. I was so taken with it that I quickly read the entire series. So I feel like, for me, it is perfect that I started the series with Van, and ended it with his daughter. The ABC Corp spin off deals with the offspring of the original bunch. This is such a beautifully written book. There was a particular touching moment at ONLY two percent that made my eyes water! The good watering kind, not the sad kind!

Amelia “Mila” Morrison is thirty two years old and is the youngest of the three Morrison siblings. She is the baby of the family and maybe the closest to her dad. She is a successful author. She still lives on the compound with all of her relatives and loves the privacy, always preferring to experience life behind the keyboard of her laptop computer. But her first and most beloved book has been sold and is being made into a movie. So she and her agent/best friend will have to spend some time on the set in Los Angeles.

Nicholas Scott is thirty six years old and is a very successful Hollywood movie star. Nicholas can’t do anything without it being splashed all over the tabloids, and most of what you read isn’t anywhere near true. He loves being an actor, losing himself in the characters he is portraying. He has been so looking forward to playing this particular role of Duncan in this book that no one has ever seen the author.

These two met in the cutest way. Well, I’ll say the second time they met was so cute. But one thing was certain, that there was something there, a pull, a connection. A NEED to be near the other. But what could a very private author that lives in Canada and a Hollywood actor who lives a life running from the paparazzi possibly have in common? And even if they gave in to the connection they share, would there ever really be a way for them to be together?

This is one of those books that the word, lovely, comes to mind. Both of the characters are dealing with things that I want you to discover on your own. And I thought that it was so perfectly written. I believe that these two fell in love with each other before they even met. It was truly a match that was meant to be. And the epilogues were absolutely perfect. It was the most beautiful way to wrap up the series. Thank you to Melanie for these characters that will live on in my heart forever.

"I think somehow my heart fell in love before we ever met you. I think we were waiting for you."
It took me a while to write this review because I wasn’t sure what to say. I had a lot of feelings, and I even reached out to Melanie Moreland and probably overshared a bit.
But that’s because I appreciate it when authors write an “imperfect” character, and she wrote two. This book warmed my heart.

"I wondered if anyone else ever noticed the difference when the camera caught him unexpectedly and he wasn’t “on.” I did."
I loved Nick. The actor, the playboy, the “troubled”, “damaged” addict who is in and out of rehab all the time and who “can’t be trusted”. Yes, I’m using quotation marks. Why? Because that’s not who he is. And when you see him for who he is, you’re going to love him too.

"Nothing else mattered in that split second but you."
Mila felt too relatable, especially when it comes to her childhood. She didn’t get to experience high school/college life the way most people do. She lives life a lot through her keyboard and writing fictional characters. And boy, could I relate to all of it.

"It felt so strange to feel clean. To be touched. I craved it. I still do."
One of Mila’s books is being turned into a movie, and her presence is requested on set. She’s an introvert, so being outside her comfort zone is not easy for her—especially when she knows she’ll be meeting the actor she cast for the role, one she’s always admired from afar.

"I thought you were incredibly sexy. Alluring. A mystery I wanted to solve."
"I suppose you’ve solved it now. I’m just me. Nothing very special."

When they meet, it’s not in the way you’d expect. It’s very… different, but appropriate for both of them. When they meet for the second time, well, that is just funny. And when they finally “officially” meet, the seeds of something have already been planted.
And it’s everything you want in a romance novel.

"We ate and chatted. About nothing. The view. The small town she lived in and the family she grew up with. Our favorite colors. Ice cream. Her small feet. My larger ones."
Their connection is easy, but what’s going on with them is not. They both have what the world perceives as flaws, which is exactly what makes them one of a kind. And perfect for each other because they accept and love each other the way they are.

However, how’s this going to work? He’s an actor used to being in the public eye; she’s an introverted author who values her privacy.

"Not again, Shortcake. Don’t leave me alone again. I need you. For tonight, tomorrow. However long you’ll have me."
I managed to relate to both of them in different ways. He’s vulnerable because he’s never really had someone in his corner, and I loved how protective she is of him. She’s guarded because she’s used to being alone, and I loved how he shows her he really cares.
Everyone judges him harshly except for her. No one sees her fully, except for him.

"My Mila. Unscripted, unexpected, and perfectly imperfect. Perfectly scripted for me."
Nick and Mila were both several people until they found each other. Now they only have to be themselves.
And honestly? That’s pretty perfect right there.

It was Epic! Amazing! Perfection!

Oh Men! Nick, where do I found him? Mila is really luck, and obviously Nick is lucky too! They are two souls with some troubles deep in them but together they are like a fierce storm. I love Mila Morrison, she’s just perfect with all her “imperfections”. I love all her quirks and she is really smart. Van and Liv definitely did an excellent job as parents. Nick fall for her fast and hard, it’s so enjoyable to witness everything. Nick is really special and Mila is everything he need to be stronger and really happy. I love how they tease each other. All the funny moments between them are really good but when we involve the rest of the family, everything goes out of this world. I laughed and cried since the beginning, since the dedication!!! All the feels. I always fall in love with the hero, easily, but this time both, hero and heroine captured my heart completely. True be told, I wasn’t ready for all the emotions, the intensity of love for this book or the end of this series but it’s really the best end! 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 Melanie congratulations on another successful creation, a masterpiece!

Four and a half stars

UNSCRIPTED WITH MILA is the sixth in Melanie Moreland’s Vested Interest: ABC Corp series. It stands well alone, although readers will likely be enticed to read the others in this warmly written family-centered series.

Actor Nicholas Scott and writer Mila Morrison meet on set when one of Mika’s books is being adapted for the big screen. They swiftly find they share a immediate chemistry and despite being reluctant to endure public scrutiny, are moved to quietly pursue some time together. Of course, not everyone has their best interests at heart, and they encounter some bumps on the way to their happy ever after.

Melanie Moreland’s storytelling is excellent and her writing emotional and engaging. Unscripted With Mila handles potentially sensitive health issues compassionately and supportively, and Ms Moreland’s portrayals are well written. A terrific book to wrap up a powerful series.

Another amazing gift/book written by Melanie Moreland.
This is the the book of Mila, Van's daughter. You can read as stand alone but it's better if you read all the other books in BAM series before.
It has no cliffhanger and a great Epilogue.

Mila is a shy writter that meets actor Nick and both find what they didn't know they needed. Their connection can be felt since the beginning and their story keeps you hocked to te book.
This book made me feel very happy while reading it but also sad at some escenes.
The book is fun, hot, deep, sexy.. and above all heart touching.
I loved how they protect, help and love each other.
I totally recommend it if you are looking for a happy reading.

I think I've found my new favorite ABC book!! This story was EVERYTHING! I laughed, cried, and wanted to seriously punch a bitch!! Mila and Nicholas will give you all the feels.
My heart broke for Nick. Thankfully he had someone as caring and understanding as Mila to lead him to a place full of love, happiness, and acceptance. These two are so damn sweet together!
If you haven't read any of Melanie's ABC Corp series, I 100% recommend it. It's even better to read the Vested Interest series first since ABC is about the second generation. You will not be disappointed!

I'll tell you right up front that your heart simply doesn't stand a chance against the epic romance. Mila and Nicholas are going to make you fall absolutely crazy in love with them because they are easy to care about characters that have imperfections that make them feel undeniably relatable. Trust me when I say that your heart will ache for each of them, but the crown jewel here is the truly the epically beautiful romance between these two. Rich with lush emotions, seductive sweetness, heart twisting drama, tantalizing steam, and what seems like a whole universe of heart, this couple and their story will have you basking in The Feels and luxuriating in the swoon. I am independently posting a frank review.

Mila is Van’s youngest daughter. She’s a successful author with one of her books turned into a movie. She pushed for Nick to be one of the main characters since she wrote the book with his image in mind plus the intensity that he puts into each role he acts in. There is more to this supposed bad boy of Hollywood. Mila sees beyond what his manager/agent puts out there about him. The studio that he’s under contract with isn’t any better. With Mila who loves him unconditionally he sees the bigger picture in his life and knows that it’s time for a change. With Mila grounding him along with her family as well as the rest of the BAM family he knows he’s safe and that he can put the truth out about what is actually going on in his life and that he is not an actual bad boy. He has a reason to have a better life then the one he’s been living and that is Mila and the love and calmness she gives him.

This story… the love, the passion, the heart-squeezing feels…everything in this story had me pulled right in and I never wanted to leave. My heart was all-in from the get-go.

I was very excited to read Mila’s story. In the previous book, I was intrigued by her and couldn’t wait to get her story. I knew it would be amazing. I knew she was quiet and shy and I had a good feeling her story would pack a punch. And boy, did it ever. She is small but definitely mighty.

Ms. Moreland took a fragile, yet very important subject and handled it with love and care and tenderness and gave us an emotional story with a powerful message. All the while giving us a beautiful love story.

The further I got into this book, the harder I fell for Nick and Mila. Two of the kindest, sweetest souls who were destined to meet. Who needed each other. Who fit together. Who were perfect for each other. They complemented each other beautifully.

Reading their story filled my heart with so much love and happiness and contentment. And also with a fierce protectiveness. I wanted to jump into these pages and stand up for Nick, for Mila, to fight for them, WITH them - and to give them all the hugs and love. Seeing their vulnerabilities pulled at my heart strings and I wanted to throat punch anyone who hurt them.

And can I just mention real quick the chemistry between Nick and Mila? Holy hot sizzles and tingles. These two together were fire. Instant sparks and swirls of desire surrounded them when they were near each other. And I could feel it.

My heart is full, my smile is big, and my soul is happy.

This story was SO GOOD and beautifully written and I highly recommend it!

Unscripted With Mila does not have the heat. The plot is pretty much straight forward. Minimum drama. Characters are not developed very well.
To be honest, I am a bit disappointed.

But I was thrilled to picked up Miss Moreland book again. It has been a while. And her sweetness in her writing is still cute.

Going out on a high
5 Stars

This was a book that I was really looking forward to read. Mila seemed like she was a shy, introvert and I adored the idea that she would find her happily ever after with a huge Hollywood superstar actor. We very briefly met Mila in the previous book in the series, Sunshine and Sammy, but the romance in this book completely stands alone. Buuuuut, the series that this book is from, Vested Interest: ABC Corp Series, is a spin-off from the Vested Interest series which is also tied to The Contract books. And Mila is the daughter of one of the couples from one of those books, Van and Liv. So there are a whole host of other characters that pop up in this story. You definitely don’t need to have read all the other books, but you’ll get more enjoyment from the group scenes if you have.

Mila Morrison is a shy, quiet and introverted women who likes to live vicariously through the characters in her best-selling novels. When one of her books is optioned into a film, she pushes hard for troubled actor Nick Scott to take the lead role. She feels a connection to him though they’ve never met, which only solidifies when they meet in person. I love how Mila had layers to her personality and that she glowed with Nick rather than changing into a different person. It was like she was Mila 2.0 when around him. Sure she was quiet, but she was fierce, loyal, kind and calm. I loved her to bits.

I will warn you right now that you will fall hard and fast for Nicholas Scott - just like Mila does. He’s got a reputation and plenty of rumours going round about him. But the truth is something few people know. I’m a sucker for a strong man that’s in need of the love of a good woman and Nick was so in need of love. And yet, he’s still a grumpy, alpha man who knows what he wants and is determined to get it. And I’m not just talking about the coffee he loves to demand!

There is a connection between Mila and Nick that we readers feel just as keenly as our couple do. It’s a need to be with each other and to gain comfort from the other. But it’s that way of being the best version of themselves when they are with the other, and only feel like they are their true selves when with each other. Gets me every time. Alongside the deep connection we also get some fantastic chemistry. This couple are hot! Pool clinches, picnic trysts and push me up against the wall kisses all culminate in some sexy times with our couple. It’s good stuff.

Nick’s mental health is a feature of this story but it’s never written as if it’s a plot point but rather is woven into Nick’s character and the book as a whole. I’m very particular about how mental health is portrayed and am quick to be critical if it’s not done well, as it shouldn’t be a source of entertainment for people. I have absolutely no complaints about this book and I thought it was great how it was dealt with and how it may help readers to deal with similar situations in real life.

This is not a high-angst story but instead, as Melanie Moreland is famous for, a real story about real love that we want to believe could happen to us. The women love their men hard and the men adore them right back. It’s just how they get to their happily ever after that makes for such an entertaining tale. This book was super cute, sigh-worthy and made me want to cheer. I loved every page and every word. Ms Moreland’s writing is, as always, spectacular.

I have a horrible feeling, based on the epilogue we get with this book, that this might be the end of the whole Vested Interest and BAM series. That epilogue gives us a glimpse into all the previous book characters, where they are now, where their children and grandchildren are now. And gives us insight into the people who didn’t get their own books. It’s like a lovely overview of everyone - but it definitely screamed goodbye! *Dabs eyes* However, if this is the end, we had such an amazing run of stories with characters that will stay with me for a long time. And we definitely went out on a high with Mila and Nick. 5 stars without a doubt.

Absolutely amazing!! There are no words that can do this story justice. Melanie always writes such amazing characters!! They all have a flaw of some sort but that is what makes each of them so unique and lovable. I would say this is one of my all time favorites!

Nick….movie star, ladies man, supposed addict and totally alone in life. His image is a mess and his manager has him so twisted up he just wants to quit. But then he meets Mila. Despite a little misunderstanding, he feels she is exactly what he needs in life. But can he drag her into his mess of a life? Can he trust her with his secret?

Mila….shy, bookworm, author of all things hawt🔥, sweet, innocent and totally enamored with Nick. She sees who he really is, not what he portrays to the world which is why she writes with him as her muse. But once she meets him, she realizes that he is being held back from living his life because of other people.

What a pair these two make. One hiding a secret from the world and the other just plain hiding from the world. But together? Nick finds love and family with Mila. And with Mila he finds the one thing in life he desperately needs…support. He finds that same support in the most unlikely place…with the big beautiful BAM and ABC family! Big, loud and hilarious antics soon ensue and Nick realizes he found home.

This story made me see how misperceptions come easy in today’s world. Social media and the media themselves don’t always portray people in a true light. Judgements come easy. Certain subjects are accepted while others are taboo.

Be a friend, be a support, listen and learn.

Love, love, love this story!!

Moreland took a very sensitive subject of Mental health and turned it into a wonderful, realistic story that spotlights the importance of having the right people and team behind you!

This one hit home close due to what's going on in the world we need to talk more openly about mental health, we all need to have some empathy and acceptance and who knows how the world would change!

Mila and Nicks story is beautifully written, a insta spark and connection that flows off the pages. I couldnt put it down once I dived in and I know you will too!

Unscripted with Mila is the sixth and final book in the Vested Interest- ABC Corp Series. It was heartwarming and bittersweet to see all the characters one more time before the series ended. Mila and Nick’s story was utterly beautiful and heartfelt . It was captivating, beautifully written and unputdownable. It shed light on some issues and how people deal with it. Melanie has done justice with the character and how they deal with their condition. Mila and Nick were imperfectly perfect for each other. I absolutely loved the epilogue and honestly read it twice . I was invested in this series and didn’t want it to end. These characters have a permanent place in my heart. There are some books and characters that stay with you long after you’ve finished the story these characters and their stories will stay with me forever. It’s like bidding farewell to a friend or family member. Thank you Melanie for these beautiful stories. Highly recommend this book and this series. Definitely deserves more than 5 stars ⭐️

This one is bittersweet, and my brain refuses to believe that this is the end of the Vested Interest/ABC Corp family. I’ve lived in this world, laughing, crying, loving, and watching the next generation find their forevers. I’m left wanting more, and if it went on forever it still wouldn’t be enough of this phenomenal fictional world. This family of blood and heart has made a place for itself in mine and they will always be a part of me.

Mila Morrison is the youngest of three and an introvert. She may be in her early thirties, but she’ll always be the baby her parents worry about. A life as an author behind the keyboard is perfect for her, keeping stress at a minimum. But her romance novels have gotten so popular that one is being made into a movie, and Mila is traveling to LA to answer questions from the cast and watch her words come to life.

Nicholas Scott has been cast as the male lead in Mila's upcoming movie, and their meet cute is more of a mistaken identity. Or two. He takes his job seriously, despite what the tabloids might say, so you'll excuse him if he's a bit focused and a bit short with some of the staff. The one thing that can draw his focus away? Mila. There's an instant connection between the two that won’t be denied.

What a way to end a series, because Mila and Nick's story is magnificent! It charmed me from beginning to end, and I wish I could give it more than five stars. These two are so perfect for each other, and Mila’s family welcomes Nick easily, after a few glares and half-hearted threats from the dads, of course. And if you love a good mean girl, boy oh boy, we've got one in spades here.

This romance is a bit heavier than the others, dealing with a serious, disparaged medical condition. Moreland shows us the stigma of the condition, the efforts to hide it and cover it up, and then how it should be handled by those who love the person living in it daily. It's portrayed gently and with care, celebrating the positives that come from being authentic and vulnerable, by surrounding oneself with a loving family and letting others give aid along the journey.

And so, with one last masterful, unforgettable, heartfelt romance, we say goodbye and close the cover on an unparalleled series. Farewell, Port Albany. I'll miss you and all your wonderful places and people. I'll visit again soon. And you, my reader friend, plan your visit with Mila, Nick, and the rest of the family right away. You'll be touched by magic, your heart will be filled and your life will never be the same.

OVERALL RATING – 5

RECOMMENDED for those that like: small town/ friends to lovers / big family/ shy heroine-movie star

First my usual points:
- I do not do spoilers unless warned.
- Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate.
- This is a standalone but the final in a 2nd generation series. Best enjoyed in order
- No errors that I caught as far as editing.
- The author was not new to me.

BOOK:
- Cover adequately reflects the story
- Genre/troupe: contemporary romance
1st POV alternating
Characters from other books make appearances

Star Ratings - 1 (poor) - 5 (READ THIS BOOK)
• Writing Quality: 5 stars
• Story ingredient: 5 stars
• Ease of reading/Pace: 5 stars
• Plot strength: 5 stars
• Steam Level: 5 stars

Notes/Opinion (personal):

In her latest release, Ms Moreland incorporates a main characters with real life struggles. Along with a story that captures you from the start, she reflects the struggles accurately and gently and offers this character dignity and respect along with love and support from an unexpected partner as well as friends and family.

As the conclusion to two interconnected series and a second generation series, I went into reading this book with a touch of melancholy. However like the prior two series, we are left knowing that these ‘friends’ we have come to love will ‘be okay’ (IYKYK) and we can move on. Well done, Ms. Moreland.

I absolutely love this series! Mila & Nick’s story was one of my favorites that I have read by Melanie Moreland. I read in less than a day. I couldn’t get enough of these characters. I loved how imperfectly perfect Mila & Nick were for each other. I finished and had to go back and read my favorite parts again.

I have no idea if Melanie Moreland has plans to revisit these characters and their world, but I really hope she does. I know for sure I will be revisiting this series and these characters again in the future.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Unscripted with Mila is a celebrity friends-to-lovers romance. It's the sixth book from the Vested Interest: ABC Corp.

This story is about Mila Morrison, Liv and Van's youngest daughter, and Nicholas Scott.

I loved everything about this book. The plot is incredible with so many cute flirty moments, true love, and a bit of drama. It's an Insta-love romance that doesn't feel rushed. Even though they became "a thing" early on, their relationship had a fairly steady build-up. The characters were amazing with intense chemistry. Mila was a sweet, caring woman who turned into a fierce
protector for her loved ones. Nicholas appeared as a friendly, womanizer but deep down was lost and wanted to be accepted and understood. The support they gave each other from the beginning was astonishing. Their relationship seemed so effortless and natural. What I never expected was Mila's naughty joke, it was my undoing. One of my favorite parts was how easily
Nick was accepted by the extended family.

If you love sweet romantic storied with a little spice then make sure to read this one. I give it 5 bright stars!!!

Unscripted With Mila was absolute perfection!

Mila is a romance author, whose book is being made into a movie, and she champions for her muse to be cast in the leading role. Nick is Hollywood’s bad boy, but he has been keeping a secret from everybody and you really shouldn’t believe everything that the media tells you.

When these two meet, there is Insta chemistry, and it’s like they each found the missing piece to the puzzle. They complement and fit each other so well. I adored their love story!

Unscripted With Mila by Melanie Moreland is a heartaching love story that spoke to my heart. Mila and Nicholas have their scars and battles but their love brings them true happiness and peace. Their story shows love really conquers all. The misunderstood bad boy of Hollywood and the shy reclusive romance author bring all the heart and steam in every page of this angsty romance.

Mila had a traumatic childhood before being adopted by her parents. She is shy and sweet and prefers to hide behind her laptop where she let her imagination play and writes one after another bestselling romance novel. But she has to leave the family compound for a short time and go to LA with her agent as her book is being adapted into a movie and her input is required in the set. There she meets Nicholas Duncan, the Hollywood superstar with a bad reputation and also..her muse for the novel and he is playing the lead now. Nicholas has a turbulent life and tortured soul but Mila is like a healing touch for him. Can she show him the light?

Kudos to the author for creating a hero with mental health issues and doing complete justice to him! As a Psychiatrist, it's often disheartening to see the misrepresentation of Mental health in romance novels but here the author handled it with reality and sensitivity. Having Bipolar Disorder would make Nicholas somehow taboo in Hollywood so his agent and the studio shoved it under the cover of addiction and rehab. My heart breaks for this gorgeous and brilliant man. He is fighting a battle without any weapon. And that makes him feel helpless, lonely and messy. But Mila came into his life like an angel. She didn't judge him at all. Rather, our sweet shy author turns into a fierce protector for him and I cannot be any more proud of her! She has her own struggles with anxiety but she is still so brave and compassionate and wholeheartedly kind. Her extended family is definitely a major source of her strength. Mila's sweetness is a perfect match of Nicholas' brooding side. And together, they are just explosive. The beautiful words of the author painted a stunning picture of love, friendship, passion and respect for Nicholas and Mila. It is so evident in evert page that their love is so pure and strong and bright and healing and all consuming that is capable of eliminating all negativity and darkness. This was a perfect balance of angsty feels, spicy chemistry and swoony moments.

Outstandingly Brilliant! With this book, we get all our favorite BAM Men and all the other wonderful characters. This book flows and you just want to cheer for Nick and Mila. I appreciated each of their own personal struggles and how each other were there for the other.
This book is full circle. Thank you Melanie Moreland for sheer perfection 💜

This is such a profound read. I wish I could read it again for the first-time as it left such a mark on my heart. The fact that both were wading in unfamiliar waters and how, hand in hand they battled the storm—together—hit me in the feels. Mila, shy and introverted with Nick, misunderstood and reckless, we’re the perfect couple to end this series. I adore how mental health is touched upon and plays a role in this story. It isn’t the main focus as Mila and Nick’s romance is always in the forefront but the illness helped develop the character and understand the role the stigma played in his life. One word that describes my feelings after reading this story… Phenomenal. Thank you for bringing this family to my life. They hold such a special place in my heart and will be visited many times.

Audiobook:

Each and every audiobook by Melanie Moreland grants me the escape I need from reality. Pair that with John and Maxine’s beautiful voices. It is always perfection. Their voices were in perfect harmony highlighting Mila and Nick’s story. The inflection is always breathtaking as they take the author’s amazing storytelling and deliver such an outstanding performance. I felt every emotion times one hundred as they narrated this final book in the ABC series. It is bittersweet knowing that this is the final book but the best was definitely saved for last. No rock was left unturned as Mila got her hea despite the roadblocks that appeared in this pairs journey. And getting to see the clan in all their happiness always warms my heart. Mila and Nick just clicked. They both battled something that hindered their view on life and love but together they overcame the stormy seas. The waves brought them together and it was everything. This might just be my fave audiobook narrated by the pair. The emotions in the way they read slays me every time but this romance with a touch of mental illness was wow.

Please don't tell me this is the last of the series. Because from the bonus epilogue, it feels like it is. If it is, then I'm not ready for that.

Going in, once I knew the crux of Mila and Nick's story and the mental illness topic it discusses I thought this was going to be an emotional and heavy story. But not at all. Melanie was able to write their story in a heartwarming way, I wouldn't say it's overly light-hearted. But it's not overly heavy too. Just the way I like it.

I absolutely loved their story. These two! From the very first moment they met, it was like kismet. As the story goes, you'll see just how perfect they are together. I absolutely adore Mila. She's amazing and she's the strength Nick needed.

And of course, Mila's family. They're the best! I can't emphasise that enough. I admired them from the very first BAM and ABC series but I admire them even more with how they band together to help Nick and accepts him into their fold.

The first book in this series is what started my love of Melanie Moreland books.......and then I had to go back and read all about BAM, Vested Interest, and back to the new generation stories. I'm definitely not ready for this world to be over, but since I know this is the last one, it was definitely one heck of a way to send off this beloved world!

Nicholas and Mila stole my heart from the beginning, and I just loved the connection the two of them formed with one another. It was as if two kindred souls finally found one another after searching for so long. I adored how tender and caring Nicholas was with Mila, especially when she had one of her episodes. And Mila - how fierce was this woman? I thought she was pretty timid and somewhat shy at the beginning, but whoa. The strength she showed when defending Nicholas to someone who was putting him down......how could he not fall in love with her? He needed someone like that in his life, and I loved how once he met her family, how they immediately accepted him - just like she had.

And of course, the final recap of the BAM crew.....I enjoyed getting one last chance to be in their world.

Wow! What can I write to do this story justice? Melanie wrote with her whole heart on this one and you can feel it through her words! You will fall in love with Mila and Nicholas, and learn that Mental Health isn't just selective, anyone, no matter who they are can suffer from this! Melanie did an amazing job writing this subject into the story! 5 stars for this one!
Mila is an author who likes living her life in the shadows. When one of her books is being made into a movie, she has to come out of her comfort zone and meet the cast and answer any questions they may have about their characters. She fought hard to have Nicholas cast as the leading man, after all she modeled the main man after him! Let's just say their first meeting is sexy, second will have you laughing!
Nicholas has a bad reputation in the industry, and his manager isn't really a big help to him. He's determined to stay on point with this role, no screwups. What no one knows is he suffers from mental health issues, he doesn't let anyone know this aside from his manager. When he finally meets Mila and realizes he's met her before, he's angry, but something just pulls him to her, and he's not going to let her go no matter what.
This story is the final in this series, and I'm not sure I'm ready to let this crew go! Like I said Melanie wrote her heart out with this story! Don't miss out on this one!

Mila, she was everything and more that you’d expect from the youngest daughter of Van & Liv. Nicholas, now he was more than I expected….. 🥰🥰
A really great story, with issues relevant to todays society, people’s attitudes and assumptions.

Well, talk about a meet-cute. I loved their initial interactions. To be honest, st first I though Nicholas was gonna be a real pita with a hellish attitude and wasn’t sure I was gonna like him but seeing him through Mila’s eyes let me see the different facets of him that no one else seemed to catch and I warmed to him fairly quickly.

I think everyone now has either experienced some kind of mental health issue or knows someone who has and we know that everyone is different and his they deal with their issues is also very different.

I hated how Nic had to hide who he was. The extent some people were happy to go to and the unsavory reputation they were happy to foist on him to keep the public from learning the truth was heartbreaking and so bloody wrong.
I had some suspicions about his agent and they came to pass but hell, while they dealt with things and came out the other side I wanted certain folk taken more to task - spiteful, yeah maybe, but they would have deserved it.

Mila. I adored her. So different from her siblings, she was still unsure of her place and worth regardless of what was said to her and how those important to get tried to show her.
Our leading lady was used to those out with family not really ‘seeing her’ and not valuing what a special person she was. Nic saw who she really was - and understood that she was aware he was so much more than his perceived persona that was fed to the media. Once this pair got on the same page they were each what the other needed.

There was a little angst, a lot of family interactions (some of which really made me laugh…) as we’d expect with the BAM gang as well as a lot of heart and heat.

Melanie dealt really well with both Mila’s health condition and Nic’s mental health struggles. I felt the issues were dealt with care, compassion and respect.

So sad that this is the last book in the series BUT I hoping like mad that it’s not the last we see of the BAM men, their wives, families and friends.

As someone who also has a illnesses I could relate to both of our MCs. But reading how much Nick was suffering and how little people closest to him were not on his side, was heartbreaking. It isn't the only reason but it's the biggest one why I loved Mila so much. Her life didn't start out so good but when she was adopted everything changed. And it is due to this reason she wants to help him.
I loved how their relationship started and progressed. The connection and spark was there from the moment they laid their eyes on each other, and you can't help but want them to end up together happy and at peace.

I absolutely adore all of the families that make up this series. To have such a strong support behind your back must be very comforting and I wish everyone could have something like that in their lives.

Melanie Moreland has created a world in which I would want to live. This book stands on its own but it’s so much better when read with the rest of the series. Mila is the introvert in this family of extroverts. She is quiet and a thinker. She is also super talented with the written word so much so that one of her novels is being made into a movie. Her desire to have her dream cast is coming true. Nicholas is cast in her lead role and she knows he’s gonna kill it. His reputation will not hinder him.
I felt so many emotions during this book. Of the good kind and the bad. Mila is fortunate enough to have a solid support system behind her. Nicholas not so much. Without giving too much away, Mila is the right person for Nicholas at the perfect time. Nicky boy has come to a point where he needs to really open his eyes and see what’s around him. I adore these two. What they go through in a short amount of time is why I read romance.

Mila is a shy, introverted writer whose book is being made into a movie, and Nick is the Hollywood actor that will be playing one of the main characters, Duncan. He's perceived as a bad boy, an addict, a playboy, and so many things that just aren't the real him! Watching these two come together was everything!

This story really made you feel all the emotions. I honestly laughed, cried, and even got truly angry at one point, but overall it was a heartwarming, fun, sexy and emotional read that will have you completely invested from beginning to end!
