So I really enjoy nail polish, nail art, and all that fun stuff. So much so that I sell Jamberry nail wraps, and still want to play around with polish/lacquer and different nail art/effects sometimes.
I was hoping that this book would include some neat "hacks" for how to do some of these designs yourself, and while there were a couple of them that had ways to recreate them easily by yourself -- there was way too much that needed to be free handed.
Plus? More than a few of them require you to HAVE A FRIEND DO PARTS OF IT FOR YOU.
Madeline Poole is great at nail art. Her designs are colorful, creative, trendy, and unique. Her blog is littered with her designs, so I had a sense of her capabilities. The book fell a little bit short when I had realized that it did not contain a wider variety of intermediate nail art designs.
If you are knew to nail art you might be interested in this book since the designs are simple and the instructions in the book are easy to understand and follow.
So many great projects to try! This book is full of great instructional illustrations, and it's small enough to fit nicely with all my nail polish. Which is currently living in three shoe boxes. Don't judge!
I liked the ideas but I wish some of the more complicated designs had a better tutorial that made the self-execution easier and didn't rely on free-handing that most people aren't that good at.
Clear directions and cute projects great for beginners. It's especially helpful that the author indicates what art is best made by having a partner work on your bails versus doing them yourself.
I'm so sorry, but it's a no from me. This was a gift, a very sweet gift at that knowing I enjoy creating art on my nails. I'm hooked on my nail stamps and love them. You could Google videos on YouTube or get more ideas on Pinterest then the amount of ideas that was actually in this little book. Perhaps this is more geared towards teens.
