This Franklin classic story tells of otter, a friend from Franklin's past, coming back to see Franklin. Franklin quickly sees that Otter has changed. This is a great acceptance books for children. They learn that things change in life and accepting this is a big part of life. Great illustrations and story line make this book a great read.
This was a very good Franklin book. For anyone who has had a friend move away and you kept up through letters only to be 'reunited' and find you are changed. Franklin thought he and Otter was no longer friends because they had both changed and grown up because they neither liked doing the things they used to...but in the end they realized they still enjoyed each other and their friendship.
Franklin's old friend comes to visit and Franklin learns about growing up and growing apart, as well as the moral to not give up on friendships just because you've changed.
