Against some attacks, the only hope is to come out and meet the play.

Last year, Jami Richter had no plans, no goals, no future. But that’s all changed. First step, make up for putting her father through hell by supporting the hockey team he manages and becoming an Ice Girl. But a photo shoot puts her right in the arms of Sebastian Ramos, a Dartmouth Cobra defenseman with a reputation for getting any woman—or, as the rumours imply, man—he desires. And the powerful dominant wants her…and Luke. Getting involved in Seb’s lifestyle gives her a new understanding of the game and the bonds between players. But can she handle being caught between two men who want her, while struggling with their attraction to one another?

Luke Carter’s life is about as messed up as his scarred face. His mother is sick. His girlfriend dumps him. When he goes to his favorite BDSM club to blow off some steam, his Dom status is turned upside down when a therapeutic beating puts him in a good place. He flatly denies being submissive--or, even worse, being attracted to another man. He wants Jami but can’t have her without getting involved with Sebastian. Can he overcome his own prejudices long enough to admit he wants them both?

Caught between Luke and Jami, Sebastian Ramos does everything in his power to fulfill their needs. His two new submissives willingly share their bodies, but not their secrets. When his own past comes back to haunt him, the fragile foundation of their relationship is ripped apart. As he works to salvage the damage done by doubt and insecurity, he discovers that Jami is hiding something dangerous. But it may already be too late.

Tell you about me? Hmm, well there's not much to say. I love hockey and cars and my kids…not in that order of course! Lol! When I'm not writing—which isn't often—I'm usually watching a game or a car show while working on promo. Going out with my kids is my only down time. I get to clear my head and forget everything.

As for when and why I first started writing, I guess I thought I'd get extra cookies if I was quiet for awhile—that's how young I was. I used to bring my grandmother barely legible pages filled with tales of evil unicorns. She told me then that I would be a famous author.

I hope one day to prove her right.

Sebastian Ramos, defensiveman for the Dartmouth Cobras, is committed to staying with the Cobra's for a long time so he blends in as best he can while hiding secrets that could cause his fellow teammates to want to have him traded to another team.
Jami Richter, daughter of the GM for the team, reached rock bottom with her drug & sex problems last year. In an attempt to please her father she secretly auditions to be a team ice girl to prove that to everyone that she's in control and not likely to regress back to past behaviors.
Luke Carter, stud playboy of the team, wants to please his terminally ill mother by settling down with one girl and possibly starting a family. The problem? His current girlfriend cheats on him and the BDSM club he frequents doesn't satisfy his Dom skills or his mom's requirement to be in a stable relationship.
Three people. Three different backgrounds. Coming together to create their own relationship dynamics while outside forces threaten to tear them apart.

This is book 3 in the "Dartmouth Cobra" series featuring Sebastian, Jami, & Carter. Three different people from totally different backgrounds who aren't perfect yet try to be. I was really really surprised by the emotional roller coaster this story took me on. This isn't your typical erotic romance read that throws in some adventure action and hockey trivia that is fun and exciting. It's a disturbing psychological book that rips into the stigma of being labeled gay when you're a celebrity along with the pressure of having to appear normal when you're anything but. Hiding yourself so deep inside yourself that you really can't find your way out until someone comes along to remind you what living for is all about. Truly a story that touched me.

As to the erotic action. Hot does not begin to describe the action in the pages of this book. Man on man and bi play scenes were well written and intense with well developed depth. For those readers who don't appreciate aggressive BDSM play this book will push your comfort level. For those who do, the edgy graphic scenes will appeal to you in a most satisfying way. And yes, there is a memorable orgy scene that will knock your socks off.

It is possible to read this book as a standalone but you will lose a lot of the background stories that this book is built off of which is important in understanding the central character motivation and actions. If you have read the 2 previous books in this series know that I think this is the best one yet in terms of story line and erotic play.

Great stories of a hockey team and their relationships.
Throw in hot sexy bodies, BDSM, and all kinds of relationships. The characters in this book are strong and well drawn, as well as interesting and sexy.

Jami is no stranger to the BDSM, lifestyle...her father is a club owner after all, but she never thought she would be a part of the life...it was never something she wanted, until Sebastion. Now, Jami finds herself drawn into things she never thought she would do with a man she can't deny.

Started strong and then started to fall apart.

This buzzed the wrong buttons for me. One reason I've abandoned a lot of MF literature lately is the the virgin/whore binary bores me and pisses me off. This story exploits it in spades. The interactions between Jami, Seb and Luke are well done, it's the rest of the story that drove me insane. Add in some writing issues: characters spinning in and out of the story though unrelated to this segment of the series, missing or incorrectly substituted words, and the ending which hobbled along.

“Breakaway” a winning hockey team, and a sizzling threesome.
Jami Richter is a young lady finding her place in life. Her father manages the Dartmouth Cobras. She’s not a raving fan but family ties keep her bound to it. Logically, she tries out for the Ice Girls, a distraction for fans during period breaks. During a photo shoot, she’s paired with Sebastian, a defenseman with godlike features that has her sensuality doing donuts. While ogling one way, she attracts the eye of Luke, another team player. And Sebastian wants them both.
Each of the primary characters has some scars to overcome. The sex scenes are exceptionally good. If a reader hates hockey, they might reconsider after reading this story. The author knows her game both in and out of the bedroom. Sebastian is one leading man that will score deep into a reader’s mind. Luke’s heart and gentle nature is addictive. And Jami is one helluva lucky girl.
There’s an interesting angle to this story. It’s a second generation menage. Powerfully written scenes with plenty of psychological evolution are constant breakaways. Call in the ref because their story is complex and tangled. Ms. Sommerland throws in a little suspense to thread through the relationship being formed between the main characters that may not have been needed, and could have cut out a few pages.
Character development stands out. Hurdles are jumped, and land with a soft sigh on the pillow. This BDSM novel scores big time for Ms. Sommerland.

It was awkward reading about Jami considering the last book was about her dad. I liked this one because it is still getting easier to keep track of the characters. Although, I wasn't a huge fan of going back to the perspective of people who weren't the main characters...that was a bit much to try and keep track of. Still smut, still hockey.

If there is one thing that I can tell you about this series is that there's a lot of kinky f*ckery and it's hot as hell!!! I was actually very excited about the two male characters in this book, both sexy and kinky hockey players. I can't say the same about the heroine.

We first met Jami as Richter's daughter in the previous book. Very troubled, not accepting of his father's life and choices, and to put it simply...a rebel. Although for most of this book I thought she was doing a lot better, incredibly so, I find that her HEA would've benefited from being written later in the series. Why? Because I still found her a bit immature and whiny at times and I think that's because of her age and that she just came out of what happened to her in the previous book.

That being said, I would've gladly taken her place! She has great chemistry with both Luke and Sebastian individually. I always love when authors take their time to develop the individual relationships in a permanent menage relationship. And Ms. Sommerland always delivers on that! And just how they each have a relationship with Jami, which is the reason they all come together, there is also a beautiful and deep relationship between Luke and Sebastian. I was left wondering if Sebastian's connection to Luke wasn't too strong and overpowering of his love for Jami. But I guess the balance was there most of the time.

Sebastian is all tall, dark and Dom. This is THE man that will leave you biting your lip and panting for more. His presence is commanding but he's also very caring of those he loves and others that have gone through what he has.

Luke was the lost soul in this story, which made me sad because I never thought that's where his character would fall to. I've always seen him as the happy and good humored one of the bunch. I have to admit when he first did his scene with Chicklet I almost wanted to see them explore that relationship because it was pretty hot. Luke is a Dom but he also needs to give up control. Sebastian fit into that perfectly and it was very real to see them, especially Luke, struggle with what his mind and body where saying.

Then there's the rest of the crew! Silver is pregnant and even gives birth in this book and that was just great to see. Sloan is also going through stuff in his personal life and even his relationship, so some of their issues come back to be dealt with. I love to see the new and old always woven in the story because we want to know what's going on in their lives.

Overall, this BDSM book is not for the faint of heart. It'll make you tingle in ways you didn't think were possible! I can't wait for the next installment about the kinkiest hockey team EVER!

This is the third and hopefully not the last installment in the Dartmouth Cobra series by Bianca Sommerland. I am truly blown away by this book. The first two books I was able to read fairly quickly. This one had me very emotionally invested in the lives of our three main characters: Jami Richter (the GM’s daughter) and two hockey players - Sebastian Ramos (our hot Latin lover) and Luke Carter (our hot hunky loud mouth Casanova).

I am fairly new to the MMF books and wondered how I would get thru this one. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. I did not see 2 men and a woman but 3 human beings. I was on an emotional roller coaster with these three. Each one going thru their own struggle in this relationship. Bianca did not disappoint. She keep us up to date with all of our favorites and we learned more about others.

I know who I would like to see in the fourth installment, Ford and Akira and maybe the new goalie Hunt from the farm league. I know Bianca won’t disappoint us.

Solid 3.5 stars and I'm excited to read the next one.
I do wish there were a half star system here at GR.

I have to admit, I started the Dartmouth Cobra series with this title since straight menage stories don't appeal to me much* - I'm more for super hot, three-way equal opportunity loving. That said, I didn't mind at all the pretty involved side stories with the two other relationships (from books 1 & 2), even if they were a bit distracting.

In general I liked the characters but didn't really connect with them like I thought I would. Some relatable personality quirk of interacting with their partner...or a cohesive aspect of their relationship was missing for a fully empathetic understanding. I'm not really sure; it's difficult to pinpoint. Maybe it'll be more clear in a subsequent book if they aren't the focus of the story...

Apart, they're interesting though. I love how dominant Ramos is - while not at play he still commands respect and finds it in himself In addition to how loyal Luke is to his teammates in any situation, I also really liked his internal struggle with Jami was sort of, meh. I really liked that she wasn't perfect (none of the women seem to be, thankfully) and acted just like an irresponsible nineteen year old in many chapters. Otherwise it's probably my own kink-bias reacting negatively to some of her needs, though ...but hey - to each their own! I did like her dad; spot-on reactions and conflict with everything you'd expect from someone who can't let go of his "little girl."

Still, you can feel the gradual progression and the pace doesn't seem as rushed as a lot of books do to get to the ILUs. This kind of physical release and psychological immersion can lead to strong connections early on so it's not terribly unrealistic. Do very much appreciate the descriptive detail in the "scenes" and the accompanying emotional aspects...responsible depiction and true-to-life action explored in this writing shows commitment to quality rather than trying to shock or overpower with a ramped-up erotic factor.

And how much can I rave about the author just letting a character's kinks just be their kinks - without trying to "fix" them or explain it as a result of childhood trauma or blame it on some other cognitive defect or Freudian bullshit. (Unlike other horrible piles of crap in all their multiple hues of crappiness trying to moralize it, pawn it off as a personality flaw and having to change people so someone else can get a HEA. *gag*)

Plus, the sex was hot...even the straight scenes (which is an admission you do NOT hear from me very often).

Nothing terribly violent or overly harsh in these scenes, either at the club or between the triad. If you are familiar with BDSM then it's all pretty much what you'd expect (IMHO): it seems some of the men in the menages aren't really into the "lifestyle" but like to watch, the submissives are almost exclusively female and any male with submissive tendencies is more of a "switch." (Can't wait to read Tyler's story - Chicklet is intriguing as the only mentioned Domme so far; I hope it's not the only one like it in the series.)

MASSIVE thumbs up for doing a little bit of sneaky-teaching and lecturing by discussing safety techniques, mentioning how training can be extensive, bringing up how a good Dom/me knows what it's like to voluntarily submit, repeating how ALL the power should - and does - actually belong to the sub at ALL TIMES, and frequently using disposable/new "toys" and props. (Most of which was missing in above mentioned craptastic mess.)

Again, not too dark or outrageous as a whole, and maybe if there weren't so many other side plots it might feel more...more, I don't know, substantial. If any of these characters and relationships/interactions were introduced in the first two novels, that could be my fault entirely. Maybe I should have just pulled up my big girl panties and dealt with reading about some boring ass hetero sex straight relationships.

I must say though: I keep re-reading the poker scene. Not expected. Not typical. Not boring. Completely original. Holy cow, I wish there was a game like that around here! Whew!

*The idea of being in a 100% full-time always-on relationship with more than a single person at any one time is mentally exhausting. I think you'd need that other person to share the load and take off some of the pressure. Plus, there's something to be said about being kissed and...uh...you know...orally pleasured at the same time. (Or so I've been told.) (Wait, actually that one I know to be absolutely true.)

Bianca Sommerland has taken her previous BDSM and ménage writing and made everything “more” for this third instalment in her kinky ice (yes - ICE!) hockey series. The kink is more extreme, the scenes more extensive. It’s a long book with a lot to take in, and after reading numerous erotic novellas in recent weeks, it was an interesting change of pace. It’s so rare to find a satisfyingly-long erotic book (or so it seems!).

And, I swear, these ice hockey players are getting kinkier and kinkier!

I’ve seen a number of reviews from new-to-the-series readers who said they confused themselves by starting with this book, and I’d have to agree it isn’t a good idea. It’s probably never easy to start midway into a series, but especially not a ménage series: there’re already seven major characters who have joined the action, and you’re expected to know who they are!
It would be no hardship to go back and at least read Defensive Zone – one of my favourite reads of 2012.

Jami is – at nineteen – without a doubt the youngest erotic romance heroine I have come across. As I read I kept thinking back to myself at that age; there was no way I was as sorted in the head as Jami was!

By far my favourite part of the book was the dynamic between Sebastian, Jami and Luke. The way power was exchanged between the three of them was fascinating, and you never quite knew what was going to come next.

If I had to find something wrong with this book, there were a number of typos. Additionally, I’m pretty sure the Russian player on the team has a woman’s name (add an “A” to a Russian surname, and it becomes a female name). Maybe there’re exceptions the author looked into, but I’ve never come across one…

Do yourself a favour, and at try this series in order so you understand the ongoing storylines and the extensive backstories for the lead characters. Breakaway pretty much offers up something for everyone, of every persuasion, for plenty of different kinks.

As reviewed on Kinky Book Reviews by Gabrielle:

I am already a big fan of this series but this book just blew me away. I was not prepared for the depth of my feelings for the three characters that this book revolves around and the many glimpses that we get to see of the secondary characters many of whom surprise you with their thoughts and actions.

Sebastian has quickly become one of my favorite Doms and there is so much more to Luke than what he shows the world. I loved watching the relationship build between these two men. Their attraction turns into so much more and when you add in their love for Jami it becomes a beautiful read. Just like Sebastian and Luke, Jami hides her true self behind a façade. It was nice to see her as a woman and not just the daughter of the General Manager. Jami has grown up and not only owns up but also faces her mistakes, yet she still has things that she hides, feelings and actions that only her men can help her understand and come to terms with. The three go through so much in this book. Jami and Luke must learn to trust in their friendship and love for Sebastian, while he learns to open up with them as well. Each one of them must find themselves before they can even attempt to find love but that does not stop them from chasing after their happy ever after.

In this latest book in this series we not only get Sebastian, Luke and Jami’s story but we also get to see what is going on with many of the other characters in past books and are introduced to new ones. I hope that we get to return to the Dartmouth Cobras world soon. There are so many characters that I hope will get their stories told.

4 out of 5 Licks

Another very hot offering from Ms. Sommerland and a continuation of the Dartmouth Cobras series (HOT hockey players!!!)

I enjoyed this book very much as I have the previous books about members of the Dartmouth Cobras ice hockey team (if they were real I would totally be an ice bunny lol)

The sex is very hot but if you find BDSM is not to your liking I would suggest that you don’t read this book! I would strongly suggest that you read these books in order because there are referrals to characters from previous books. I did find that I would get a few of the players and their relationships confused and had to go back a few pages to refresh my memory, but that could just be me! I like to watch ice hockey but know nothing about the game and the rules etc. so the parts where the games were being described were a bit tedious to read but sometimes things happen during a game that can affect the story or even future stories so don’t skip them!

I loved the relationship between the three main characters, especially between Sebastian and Luke which unfolded nicely without being too rushed.

A great sexy read in a great sexy series……on to the next ;)

I just finished reading Breakaway. This book has Jamie who was introduced in book two and Sabastian & Luke from book two. Though I knew more or less what would be in this book after reading the first two, I was caught of gaurd by the love triangle and one or two the hockey players. I usually shy away from this type of story line. I was glad it snuck up on me. I was pleasantly surprised. The love scences caught me off gaurd and where really hot. Not only does this book give you an insight of how a hockey team may be ran, the lives of the players it also gives you an intense love story that will keep you turning the pages. I was sooo happy to have the characters from books I & 2 make their appearances. I love when an Author not only gives us a new story to devour but also gives us the old characters so that we are kept up to date with their goings on as well. I have read other series where the old characters make an appearance but this Author not only brings the old characters back but embeds them into the new story. I love it.

I will recommend this series to all my friends. Hoping I won't have to wait long for the next books in this series.

Really enjoyed it! Sex was hot, there were no "easy" fixes they had to work it out all together which is more realistic.. although half the hockey team being bi or gay was a bit out there. didn't read the first 2 books in this series but I don't think the book suffered without them, I'm sure those who have read the first 2 enjoyed revisiting the characters from them

Breakaway By Bianca Sommerland

“Breakaway” is a sudden change in possession of the puck that leaves an attacker one on one with the goal and this is exactly befitting of Bianca Sommerland's latest book Breakaway. The knowledge of hockey and the delicious application of menage, BDSM talents of a masterful Dom combination makes the reader hungry every moment in Breakaway. Ms. Sommerland's love and devotion to the game of hockey and the titillating behaviors of her sexy characters produces another hot and saucy adult book that inundated readers with sizzling' passion resembling a scorching griddle sprinkled with droplets of ice water. The frantic dance of the extreme heat and droplets connects the reader with the characters non-stop carnal action in Breakaway. Breakaway is a well written, sophisticated story that contains all of the key elements I want in a book: believable storyline characters, settings, rising action, plot, climax (yum), and resolution. I was completely embroiled in this sinfully, delicious novel with its dusky mood. Breakaway is an erotic novel that seduces and pleasures the body, as well the psyche... what a great skillfully crafted, intoxicating experience for the very mature BDSM, menage reader.

Ms. Sommerland does an extraordinary job of conjuring up the high notes of excitement surrounding Dartmouth Cobras Hockey, team dynamics along with their relationships of the loves and lost loves in the evolution of this narrative. Ms. Sommerland's ingenious use of colorful, elaborate dialogue and flamboyant settings, sensual play between characters is enough to generate plenty of time in the penalty box for providing over the top titillations for her readers. Breakaway reads great as a stand-alone but more fascinating if the reader has experienced Game Misconduct and Defensive Zone.

There is an abundance of freaky power plays throughout Breakaway with Sebastian, Luke, Jami, Scott and Chicklet at the club, other locales, as they tote various erotic toys utilized to get Subs to respond appropriately. These elements are ever present bringing with it an intense atmosphere. The scenes developed by Ms. Sommerland are so steamy they manufacture unforgettable memories for the reader as they relate to the characters.

Ms. Sommerland focuses on developing her new characters in Breakaway but incorporates the characters from her previous books: Silver, Delagdo, Landon, Dean, Scott, and Oriana from Game Misconduct and Defensive Zone as secondary and third tiered personalities connecting Breakaway with a harmonious, sensual, smooth rhythm beating throughout the book.

Jami Richter: main character, is a young woman on a mission of self-discovery learning to accept herself. She encounters a surge of oneness/ ownership when she steps further outside the quiet safe zones crossing the line into unexpected risky occurrences. Jami is strong enough not to “breakaway” from unchartered territory and run home to daddy. Jami desires to be accepted for the person she is not the individual others expect her to be. This level of maturity is rare for a twenty something hottie who wants to be an Ice Girl for the Dartmouth Hockey team. Jami often confides in her new friend Akira one of the Ice Girls. As I read I grew to love Jami and thought of her with a pet name: “Five Hole”.
Jami truly loves misbehaving Seb and being disciplined, willingly confessing to Seb activities he commanded her not to do. Jami anxiously anticipates her punishments.

Sebastian Ramos one of the Dartmouth Cobra Hockey team members whose role as the revered tough player by his team mates and for an array of skills few man can pull off so smoothly. Seb can get any one at any time to do as he desires without reservations. Seb, in my opinion has a bewitching persona that seems to put people at a severe disadvantage, rendering people almost paralyzed or spellbound by his magnetism. Of course, he has the body to die for and possesses qualities that make him a superior Dom. Seb is capable of delivering pain and pleasure to his partners tied up/down, blindfolded, spanked, shackled, bare or clothed.

Luke Carter is a wannabe Dom, a member of the Dartmouth Cobra team with a shattered images of himself. Luke is a talented, kind-hearted teammate who harbors many raw internal and external wounds. Luke is fighting some demons which Seb and Chicklet help him unravel and provides him with coping mechanisms to uplift his level of self-worth. He does not quite understand the control aspects required to be a caring dom. Luke learns to be the student of Chicklet and Seb and as a willing student Luke wants to feel the unbridled passion of the punishments he deserves.

Although there is an abundance of intimate poke-check/ stick-check that makes the reader quiver throughout Breakaway Ms. Sommerland creatively encrusts a complex triangular prism that caused me to have an epiphany about love, total trust, slavishness and devotion. Jami and Luke become very special Subs to Seb. Luke and Jami discover they share many common hidden personalities traits through Sebastian's tutelage and this solidifies Seb, Jami and Luke's relationship. Jami loves of the freedom to be a slutty girl as she desires to please Seb. Jami and Luke share a commonality regarding being disobedient and desiring punishment without restraint from Seb or Chicklet. Sebastian and Chicklet are known for making sure the punishments fit the crimes committed by their Subs.

In Breakaway, I felt my BDSM, menage maturity blossom as did Jami into her role as a Sub.

Each of Ms. Sommerland's sexy, BDSM, menage novels grow with greater intensity than the last and Breakaway takes the reader to the Top Shelf of the pleasure/ pain chain. There are some unexpected twists in Breakaway that made me sighed in surprise.

Hmm, in my opinion Ms. Sommerland is without a doubt the most outrageous, “Domme” around.

Breakaway is a must read and one of Ms. Sommerland's classic works.

4 Stars...

I had a few reservations this book after reading the summary – Partly because of the M/M erotica (I have no problem with it – it just doesn't 'float my boat'), but also because Jami – Dean's rebellious teenage daughter – was the main character. The idea of her getting involved in a menage BDSM relationship with two hockey players that play for the team her dad owns? And then going to play in the BDSM club her father both owns and uses too? Awkward!!

My first comment has to be on the number of mistakes in this book. There were an absolute ton - spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, use of the wrong word or even missing words out altogether. I was reading the Kindle version so this may have been a problem with the ebook publishing? I tried to make a note of some from around 40%... 'I'm' rather then 'I've', 'to' when it should be 'too', 'and' when it should be 'an', 'you' rather than 'your', 'you're' when it should be 'your', 'on' rather than 'one', 'he' when it should be 'her', 'Chiclet' when it's always previously been 'Chicklet', plus improper use of apostrophes, missing out words like 'to' and 'a' and missing letters off the ends of words completely – 'believe' when it should be 'believed' and 'Seb' when it should be 'Seb's'. You get the idea... I could go on and on... Honestly, it was pretty distracting.

Anyway. Moving on to the actual story... The story was good, it kept me reading but it was a little loose - it needed tightening up a bit. It felt like there were a lot of characters and scenes that weren't really relevant to the overall plot and just served to muddy the waters. It was almost like the author didn't know which direction she wanted to take the story! Also, the suspense arc at the end was a little random – it seemed to just come out of nowhere! The police response was a bit weird too - allowing Jami, a nineteen year old girl, to go to a motel alone to act as 'bait' while a single uniformed officer sat in a marked car outside? I seriously doubt the police consider using victims as bait to be a first-line option, but hey if you're going to, at least do it right and ditch the uniform and the cruiser parked outside so it looks like you're vulnerable!

As for the characters - I didn't think I was going to like Jami but she grew on me. She wasn't the spoilt little princess I thought she was - she proved she was compassionate and actually a good friend. And Seb... I loved Seb – he absolutely made the book for me! He had the aura of a true Dom – protective, patient, honest, controlling and selfless. I really enjoyed his relationship with Jami. As for Luke - I wasn't really a fan – he was self-obsessed, antagonistic and incredibly cocky. If anyone was using people it was him! He definitely used Jami – both to prove to everyone he wasn't gay, but also to try and get closer to Seb without admitting his sexuality. I mean, that night he left Jami after getting intimate in a way she hadn't before on the balcony? That scene made me so uncomfortable - I felt like he forced her into it. His behaviour was despicable and selfish! He felt out of control... he scared me at times, he was like a stick of dynamite waiting to go off.

The sex was great - very original and very hot! It wasn't quite as 'out there' as in previous books (maybe I'm becoming accustomed to read about all their crazy exploits?), but it was well-written without crossing that line of cringiness (you know those books where you read about 'feminine love tunnels' and 'being fulled with hard masculine rods' – there was none of that here!). My only minor complaint would be that some of it was on the unbelievable side... I mean full-on first-stime anal sex without any prior preparation? Ground-shaking orgasms from breast play alone? Jami's ability to reach sub-space just from Seb's threats and a light touch? Hmm...

The 'ice girls' were a nice distraction from ice hockey – I have absolutely no understanding of the game whatsoever (well apart from the fact it involves lots of fighting on ice skates). While I enjoy the unique hockey setting for the series, sometimes the details can be so intense and in-depth (what with the strategising, the positions the players play in, the concept of the play-offs, the penalties and the rules) – more often than not it's completely over my head. The 'ice-girls' were a concept I could understand and I enjoyed following their antics.

I don't understand how the media haven't got a hold of the team exploits in the local BDSM club yet – I mean Dean actually owns it! How has no-one found that out? And yet as soon as the guys so much as hug on the ice in celebration of a goal, the press are trying to tear down the dressing room door to get an exclusive on their homosexual relationship? They'd have a field day if they could get into that club!

Overall this was a good addition to the series. I do really enjoy this author's writing style - it's fresh, it flows smoothly, it's descriptive and very, very sexy. I love the fact that the BDSM isn't used as therapy like it is in so many other books – I'm sick of reading about it being used to treat PTSD/anxiety/abuse. It's just refreshing to read a book that's so non-judgemental and honest in its exploration of these kinks and the accepting nature of everything from homosexuality to menage-relationships to BDSM. If you like erotica this is definitely a series to read!

I just finished this series (I gave whole series 4 stars) and let me say, wow! Talk about steamy and erotic. I hope to review the first two books soon, but since I just finished with Breakaway, I started with Sebastian, Luke and Jami's story first. While you can read this book as a stand-alone, I HIGHLY suggest you read them in order so you get a better understanding for the Dartmouth Cobra's and their loves.

Luke struggles with his attraction to Seb throughout the book. Their relationship was a mix of consuming sensual and emotional feelings, leaving you feeling as though you just got off a roller coaster ride. He was so unsure of himself, lost between what he thought was right and what he actually wanted. Carter hid behind his cockiness, denying his attraction and his need to submit under Sebastian. Luke perceives himself as Dominant and straight, he did not want to be in love with another man nor did he want to give up control. Therefore, like a typical hero, he ran and Sebastian chased.

Sebastian, however, knows exactly what he wants and that is Luke and Jami as his subs. It did not matter that he should stay away from them both despite the trouble that could ensue since he is a team mate and she is team manager's daughter. Did he listen, absolutely not! What type of Dom would he be if he gave into want they wanted instead of what they both needed. There is nothing sexier than a man going after what he wants and doing whatever it takes to make it yours. I for one am glad he decided to pursue Luke. Luke is fun and cute but when you mix Sebastian's sensitivity with his sensuality and power that flows off the pages; you have a panty dropper alpha male right in front of you, ladies!

Um, Luke and Seb! Sigh. So damn HOT! The push and pull between these two Doms just fascinated me; if they were in a scene together, I was devouring the words. This book was wicked (in a good way) on so many levels. Oh my gosh, the emotional and sexually intense filled chemistry between Sebastian Ramos and Luke Carter was off the charts HOT AS HELL!

I know a lot of people really liked Jami; but honestly, Jami just did not work for me as a heroine, at all. Not with Luke and not with Sebastian. I disliked her with a passion. In the other books, Silver and Oriana showed strong love for all their men. They did not leave you with any doubt that there was no true favorite in their ménages, those two chicks could not live without any of their life partners. Nor, did they try to act as though they could easily replace them. However, in this one, I felt nothing from Jami towards Luke, other than friendship. I felt bad for Luke at times because I got the impression from her that Luke was nowhere near as important as Sebastian and was easily replaceable. After a while, I really got annoyed with everything always being Luke's fault. I definitely felt her love and devotion towards Sebastian, but this was supposed to be a ménage.

Bianca's writing style totally just works for me. It is down and dirty. She creates a fun camaraderie and chemistry between all the characters that allow the secondary characters to also be an essential part of the story. Her hockey team of dominant men just captivates me, whether they are on the ice, at the club, or lounging around at home. Once I start, I am turning the pages as quickly as I can, and usually end up staying up most of the night to finish.

On a side note, one of my favorite Doms in the series is Sloan Callahan. I adore that we got to see bits and pieces of him in Breakaway (I hope to do a review on his book soon). I am nervous however because, I have a feeling Bianca has some twist up her sleeve when it comes to my favorite captain in book four, if the cliffhanger she left us with is any indication. There is definitely trouble in paradise and it is making me antsy and anxious to get my hands on it. I need to know Sloan will be ok.

And the series just keeps getting better and better :D

Loved this one - we got to see a few POV's from a lot of people in this book. It was great seeing more of Sloan and Dean ..
I'm not sure how many books will be in this series, but I'm really hoping it doesn't end here.

Sebastian, I really love those big strong gorilla type guys that fall in love and will do anything to please the one he loves, and to hell with everyone else. Seb is the perfect Dom, he knows hes in charge, and doesn't take lip from anyone. but when he spies that blue haired girl trying out for the Ice Girls, something tells him that maybe he's not as in control of himself as he thought he was.

Jamie the sweetheart . Dean's daughter Jamie is back from rehab and after spending almost a year at her grandmother's house, she's ready to turn her life around. By proving to her dad that she's interested in his work, she decides to try out for the Ice Girls. Not wanting special treatment because her dad is the GM of the Cobra's, she knows she's not the best dancer, but on the ice, she knows what the crowd wants.

When Jamie is selected among the few Ice Girl tryouts to take a publicity photo shoot with Sebastian, the world will finally see the chemistry between the two.

Jamie's new BFF Akira is really shy towards men, but dancing for the Ice Girls is her last hope to live out her dream as a professional skater. So when Jamie tells Akira about her dad's club, they're curious.
Jamie sneaks into the club, unfortunately Akira chickened out, so she went alone. And that's where she saw Sebastian with a knife to Luke Carter's throat...

Luke - What a guy - he's had it hard. In the previous book, he got his face slashed on the ice, and now has a hideous scar. His last girlfriend pretty much told him she couldn't be with him anymore because it grossed her out. His mom is sick and her only wish is for him to find a special woman to make him happy.

Things at the Club are changing for Luke. The confident Dom that he thought he was, seems to like things that a Dom shouldn't like...And when he's around Sebastian, he REALLY starts to feel uncomfortable about his own feelings.

Luke see's Jamie at the club, and follows her out when she see's she's been caught. He catches up to her in the ally. Jamie confesses that she's curious, so when Luke agrees to "play make believe" with Jamie, Jamie can't help but jump into character.

The scene starts to heat up, until Sebastian decides he wants to jump in. Not knowing that it's a scene he walked in on, he can't help but feel protective over Jamie. But the only protection Jamie needs is from her own feelings after being "kidnapped by two strangers, who are a little too anxious to punish her for sneaking into her daddy's BDSM Club"

Even though the sex is hot between these 3, their relationship is off to a rocky start...

HOT! This book is defiantly HOT! a DEFIANAT Must read for those who love Hockey, because those Cobra's are really something on the ice - and a hot steamy threesome - M/F/M -M/M - M/F it's all there :)

I would like to read more about Ford and Jamie's Friend Akira - it would be fun to see those two get together. And SO MUCH unfinished talk at the end.. especially about Sloan and Max!!!

I have read Ms. Sommerland’s books before. I read the Deadly Captive books, enjoyed them, and I’m definitely looking forward to the next (and final?) book from that series; however, this is the first time I’ve been compelled to review one of her books. I read a lot, and definitely don’t take enough time to write reviews. I’m always too anxious to get to the next book! I’m more than halfway through the next installment in this series already. I wanted to give a little of my time for this one though. I’m not going to give a book report here, but give some general impressions of the story and writing. If I wanted to read a synopsis, I would read the author’s summary.

It would be easy to get caught up in the more extreme components of Ms. Sommerland’s writing, but if you aren’t afraid or put off by the extremity, these are characters that can evoke a real emotional investment. Her passion for the game of hockey comes across in the descriptions of the game, but even a non-hockey fan can enjoy the series. The love story between Sebastian, Jami and Luke is one that will stick with me for a long time. I appreciate the time spent introducing the characters in the previous book. It gave me time to get to know them before jumping right in to their story. I felt like I already had a stake in the outcome right from the start.

All too often in MMF stories I find myself not liking the main female character because they are portrayed as one-dimensional damsels in distress. Jami is a strong character, confused by her more unusual desires, but willing to be honest with the men she loves about them.

I also appreciate the attention given to other characters in the book…both characters we have met in previous books and new characters. The attention given to the extended family and friends is something that is severely lacking in many book series. These are characters that I let into my life, I want to know what’s going on with them!

If I had one issue with the book (and really all of the books so far in this series), it’s that she might consider using an additional editor or more beta readers. For an independent author, I think that might be one of the biggest challenges. The typos are easy to find, but the issues with using a correctly spelled, but incorrect word are sometimes not so simple. I know there would be any number of people lining up to help (myself included) because this author has very loyal fans. It’s an issue that could be fixed easily and would really improve the flow of the beautifully crafted stories. An incorrect word can jar you out of the world that has been so painstakingly created. That said, there are many other books I’ve read with more editing issues than this series, but the stories weren’t as good as these either.

I’m so glad I gave this series a chance. I hadn’t really considered reading a sports-centered series, which is odd considering I was a season ticket holder for the local hockey team for years! This has really become one of my favorite series though. Thanks Ms. Sommerland, I can’t wait to finish the books already written and will be looking forward to more!

After reading this I need to stick my head in the freezer just to cool off a bit. The steam and love that it shown between the three characters of this book is just amazing. Not only do we get to read the love story of Jami and Sebastian and Jami and Luke, but we also get to read about the love that builds between Luke & Sebastian.

We first read about Jamie in the previous book, Defensive Zone. In that novel she was a troubled teen needing help. Now we are introduced to the young woman who has just completed rehab and is learning to grow as an individual. Jami shows great amounts of maturity for someone so young, but at the same time hasn't lost her playfulness. Many times she defies her Dom on purpose just to get a rise out of him *pun intended ;-) .

Sebastian is tall, dark and mysterious. I fell completely in love with him. I even have a Sebastian Ramos jersey. He is the man who could get you to do anything he wants just by the sound of his voice. We learn that he has had a difficult past and he is very caring of others that have gone through what he has, and the way he treats his lovers.....Oh I think I might faint just thinking about it.

Luke is a young man with many problems. After his injury in Defensive Zone he is left scared and feels that no one could love him. He also is dealing with tons of emotional mix-ups after his encounters with Sebastian. Luke is in the middle ground when it comes to a D/S relationship. He is a Dom, but at the same time he needs direction and control from someone with more control and confidence than he possesses. Which makes for the perfect triad relationship between the three of them.

One of the things I like about the series as a whole is that Bianca doesn't leave us hanging on what's going on with the characters of past books. We are constantly given scenes involving the others and brought up to date on whats happening in their lives. These three books are a must read. I am biting my nails waiting for the next book in the series to be released.

Once again Bianca has given us a great story with two great men and the lady they love!! A part of me fell hard for Sebastian with the little we saw of him in book two Danger Zone, but I gave him my heart with Breakaway!!

Jami is clean and finally home, but she is going to do something to show her dad she appreciates him and supports his team, even if she isn’t the biggest hockey fan. Trying out to become an Ice Girl may just might be the thing that does that, but it also puts her right in the path of one of the players that gets her blood moving.

Sebastian is one of those ubber-Doms that you just want to get your hands on, but he has his hands a little full at the moment. Because not only does he want Jami as his own, he also wants his teammate Luke Carter. He tries to stay away from both of them, but when he sees them together he knows they need him as much as he needs them.

Luke Carter has a lot on his plate. His mom has a brain tumor, and he is having a hard time dealing with that. Also a scene with the Domme Chicklet has him doubting his Dom status. On top of all that he can’t understand why deep part of him wants to submit to his teammate. He is a Dom.. NOT A SUB.. (just ask him) AND he isn’t into men!!

The journey to HEA is a tough one for all three, but it is such a great story!!! I love how these two bring out the softer side of Seb. And LAWD the scenes between him and Luke are hot as hell!! Keep a fan and ice water handy!! Your e-reader may even fog up or melt! Bianca is a master at telling these ménage stories and having you love each and every one of the peeps, and pulling for them to get to their HEA. I really love that you get to see the characters from the other books as well. We get to get back into the heads of both Dean and Sloan, and it is good to see they are still growing as people. I love when a series does that. There is life after the HEA. It makes it more real. I highly recommend this book and series!!

This review is based on a re-read, and not my initial feelings after a first read.

Some minor spoilers may occur, but no plotline spoilers.

This is my third re-read of this story. It feels familiar and comforting. That's not to say it isn't intense, especially the SM scenes. I just know I will enjoy the characters, and the storyline.

On deeper reflection and careful re-reading I've found that this doesn't feel like a story between the three of them. It feels like a story between Luke and Seb, with Jami as a distraction. And that is unfortunate (for Jami). I imagine in the future, Jami slipping away and it being just the two men.

I don't feel that Jami is mature enough to be committed in a way that says forever. I feel like she is in this purely because Seb and Luke give her the freedom to explore her kink without guilt or judgment. That's not to say she doesn't love them both, but that she isn't in it for the long haul. I just wasn't convinced.

Luke and Seb are hot together. I found I was more interested in their relationship development than anything with Jami. I enjoyed Luke's slow acceptance of himself, and even with his angst, he comes into his own sexuality in a believable way.

I didn't quite believe in Jami's and Luke's connection. It felt more like a circumstantial thing, because Seb wanted them both, not really a deeper connection between the two.

Overall the character development is strong. I am shown what I need to see. I feel like I know these characters well. I like Ms Sommerland's writing style, and enjoy all the character personalities. The best thing about this series is that there are other characters POV besides the main three. it allows us to see how things are going for couples in the previous books, and also characters we will see in books to come.

Excuse me while I take a breath and slow my heartbeat before I write my review.............
Wow! Where to start has my mind spinning.

Jami, the daughter of the GM of the Cobras and in so many ways, your typical young woman trying to find her place in the world, rebellious, determined, cocky. You will love her.

Luke, a Left Wing on the Cobra's. Hockey is everything to him. Winning and proving himself. The only thing that matters more is his mother. He will make you laugh.

Sebastian, a Defense player on the team and the catalyst that brings the three of them together. Erotically handsome and an extreme Dominant. Trying to keep his sexual preferences out of the tabloids. He will make you hot all over!

The 3 of them COLLIDE

You have the tension of the game, the craziness of everyone and everything involving the Cobras, the fireworks going off between Sebastian, Luke and Jami. Now throw in a crazy stalker after Jami.
Every part of this book is 'Read Till Your Eyes Roll In Your Head' because you just can't stop. It is that good.

My only problem was some editing problems where words were out of place. Example: "Her last words mumbled words had him grinning at Seb."

Don't let that keep you from reading it. You don't want to miss the experience of this story. It's just that profoundly and strikingly delicious!

I am a total fan of sports romances at the moment and I loved the second book in this series and could not wait to read the forth. so maybe my expectations for this one were quite low and the reason why I had some troubles with it.

the characters in this one are quite good. I loved Sebastian from the beginning and Luke was close second to win my heart. I had more troubles with Jami, but I think that was mostly because of her age. this really, REALLY troubled me.

in regards of relationships this book was very diverging:
I was surprised about how fast Sebastian and Jami fell for each other but it was well done.
I loved how the relationship between Sebastian and Luke developed - this was so great.
but I was really disappointed with the relationship between Luke and Jami, because honestly, I did not feel it. there was nothing there and suddenly they are in love????

this reflected negatively on the relationship of all three together because it seemed to me that Sebastian was the only reason those three were together and in my opionion that is not enough for a successful menage in the long run. but we will see ... because this is one thing I love about this series, that all the characters are in there and you see how the different relationships develop

all in all, a good addition to this series - maybe not my favorite but still good

Breakaway is the third book in the Dartmouth Cobras series, and so far has been my favorite. While it's possible to read this book as a standalone, I highly discourage it; every book builds upon each other and you'll really miss out on all of the connections and relationships if you don't read them as Ms. Sommerland wrote them.

What surprised me the most about this book is how different it was compared to the previous books of this series. While Breakaway still had all of the kinky erotic sex that the previous book did, this one included a M/M relationship in with the M/M/F, as well as an added suspense twisted into the plot. The character of this book (as with the previous books) are very dimensional and have their own insecurities to overcome. Ms. Sommerland did an amazing job writing the heroes as good stand up men who enjoy dominating Jami while also loving her and cherishing her. Too often the heroes D/s stories are scary and lack emotion, that is not the case with these books. It's hard to image before you begin to read but these books contain a lot of sweet BDSM, if there was ever such a thing.

If you're into hot hockey players, kinky sex than will melt you from the inside out, and a with men that cherish the one they're with...this is the story for you!

*I recieved this book in exchange for my honest opinions*
