"Readers who enjoy Debbie Macomber’s writing will feel right at home in a Fasano novel." ~Fredlet, on Barnes & Noble Nook Books
Sexy single dad Derek Mitchell had learned the hard way to never trust a beautiful woman. So although he would always be indebted to Lainey Adams for thwarting a kidnapping attempt on his beloved daughter, he wasn't about to show his gratitude by offering his heart on a silver platter! But what was the brooding bachelor to do when his matchmaking millionaire father rewarded Lainey's heroism...by giving her part of the family fortune? For despite Derek's love phobia, something about the beguiling Lainey touched his soul, filling him with hope—and desire. Yet he sensed that she was keeping secrets—the kind that could shatter his world...
Growing up the third child of five—yes, smack dab in the middle and the only girl to boot—Donna Fasano had no idea she would one day be a published author. Her story-telling talents came to light when she conjured lively and elaborate tales of pure blarney (yes, she has a bit of Irish in her blood) for her children.
Take Me, I’m Yours by Donna Fasano is such a sweet, feel-good read 💕
The story centers around two lovable main characters who find each other when they least expect it. Their chemistry feels natural, their connection grows at a gentle pace, and the emotional moments are balanced perfectly with charm and humor 🥰
I loved how relatable they were—flawed, hopeful, and easy to root for. This book gave me cozy romance vibes, light drama, and plenty of heart ❤️📖
Perfect for when you want a quick, comforting love story that leaves you smiling.
5 stars I purchased Ocean City Boardwalk series book :Take Me, I'm yours by Donna Fasano and this review was given freely. Family oriented single mom and Day Care owner Lainey becomes involved with business focused single dad and billionaire Derek. A poignant full length romance with heroism, a legacy, irony, good use of foreshadowing, attraction at first sight, scheming in the form of the mother of Derek's child, and lots of conflict make this an entertaining and interesting read.

Lainey Adams rescues four year old Abbie Mitchell from a kidnapping attempt. As a reward, Abbie’s wealthy grandfather, Alfred Mitchell, wants to make Lainey’s dream of a large day care center come true. Abbie’s father, sexy single-dad Derek Mitchell, has learned the hard way to never trust a beautiful woman. Derek is a smart businessman who has become a workaholic and Alfred throws Lainey right in his path, hoping to teach Derek what is most important in his life.
Ms. Fasano has a talent for telling stories, and I swear she uses magic. This story hits the ground running with a kidnapping attempt on the beach of a four year-old girl who has gotten away from her grandfather. This author has a way to capture her characters and make them real people and puts them into situations they must work through, and she does it in a totally believable way. Lainey is a smart woman and stays true to her character no matter what it costs. Regardless of what happens, she keeps her integrity.
Derek is taken with Lainey, but because of his pride he has some issues to work through. He has a hard edge because of his history with Abbie’s mother, and the tension was almost unbearable for me. He is a smart man and has a big heart, but I was afraid the odds were too big to get past all of his issues. I was on an emotional rollercoaster. Perhaps I am just a little emotionally vulnerable right now, but I was so afraid I was not going to get my Happily Ever After in this story.
One huge risk the author took in this story was Victor. He was a peripheral character that played a big part and all we know about him is what is conveyed to Lainey through another character. Although that other character has a shady history, Lainey trusted her and I think this is where my anxiety was the worst. I don’t think it would have lessened my anxiety of the situation if Victor had been more fully developed though.
One of the delights in this story are the kids, Lainey’s son, Brian, and Derek’s daughter, Abbie, were perfectly written. I love the way they interacted with the adults in this story. How the author conveys the interactions of her characters through their actions and dialogue is plain magic. Donna Fasano has yet to disappoint me; this is an intelligent heartwarming story.

Take Me, I'm Yours is such a wonderful quick read. I would have read it in one sitting if I didn't have to go back to work. Lainey Adams is enjoying the day at the beach with her son, Brian when his sees a little girl wondering down the beach alone. She thinks nothing of it, there are families around but her son is insistent that she is lost and when a man grabs her Brian says that's she's being kidnapped. Lainey runs after them and ends up getting the little girl back and taking her to her grandfather, Alfred Mitchell. He's so thankful that he gives her money for her dream of opening her own child care environment. Derek Mitchell thinks this woman had swindled his father out of money and he doesn't give Lainey a chance to defend herself, she ends up giving him the check. Months later Lainey founds out she had been named in Alfred's will and that her and Derek are to work together. Alfred says there is a life secret that Lainey knows and would like her to teach Derek, but neither knows what the life lesson is...until Lainey sees, or doesn't see, Derek's interactions with his daughter Abbie.
This book was so good, a little rushed at times, but still quite a find. I loved how she [Donna Fasano] introduced all the characters and we learned about how Lainey's husband had lied, and we learned that Derek...has some trust issues (no spoils from me!) and how they work through them.
I picked this up after reading His Wife for a While, Donna Fasano is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Give this one a shot and I doubt you'll be disappointed. I wasn't!
I had signed up for the Sweet Romance Reads read and review team and I received an email from Donna Fasano asking me if I would be interested in reading and reviewing this book. Upon reading the brief description of the book, I thought it would be something I would enjoy reading so I agreed to read and review it.
I was totally not disappointed. The story was well written and heart-warming. Although sometimes it is interesting to read a book with lots of steamy and sexy sex scenes, it was really great to read a story that focused more on the growth of the relationship than the sex. I really liked how the story developed, how it had a little air of mystery and how Derek and Lainey overcame their issues to be together. I also enjoyed reading about the two children Abbie and Brian. I couldn't help but smile when I read the part where Brian was complaining to his mother about how Abbie was running him ragged but in actual fact, he was very happy when she was around. And the part where Abbie sang the teapot song and Derek asked Brian if he had taught Abbie that song and Brian blushed because he was too manly to have taught Abbie that song.
If you enjoy reading a Sweet Romance (which means emphasis on emotional intimacy and may contain sexual tension (G to PG heat levels), but there are no explicit sexual details), I'm sure you'll enjoy this book. I will be definitely reading more of Donna's books.
This book pulls you right in from the get go! It was very well done. The writing was exceptional and moving. I could relate to Lainey immediately and I loved Derek’s character development. It is very easy to get caught up in the lives of Lainey and Derek. The details, the descriptions, the emotions all painted the pictures of this story in such a way that made it stand out so well that I find I am still thinking about it even days after I finished the book. To me, a good book is really just a movie playing in my head and when it is well written, it is just that – a good movie that sits with you with a satisfying happy ever after as all romances should have (in my humble opinion). This book felt like that good movie. Heat Level: PG-13. Note: my heat level ratings are my opinion only which for my purposes means: anything you may expect to see in a PG-13 movie, you may expect to read on the page. It is my practice to put a heat level on all my reviews because I consider it an important factor in determining whether or not I want to read a book.
This book is the ninth book I've read by this author, Donna Fasano, she is fast becoming one of my favorite authors of romantic novels. She keeps them "PG" rated, which is a big plus for me.
I wanted something light to read and this book hit the spot. It had me from the very first words, "Sunlight reflected on the ocean" it drew me right into the story. It was a fast read (I read it in one day) a delightfully fun and charming book with a little mystery thrown in. Frankly, I found it quite entertaining.
Once I started reading the book I didn't want to put it down. I really like reading happily-ever-after romantic books, I call them my 'Cinderella' books, and again this one did not disappoint.
This book is part of my Nook library and I enjoyed it enough to award it 5 lovely star kisses.
Lainey befriends a stranger on a beach after his grandchild is almost abducted.
When the stranger dies he bequeaths her generously for her heroism. Her new found wealth leads her to open a daycare centre allowing a lifelong dream to come true. But her wealth comes with stipulations. Enter the stranger's son, Derek, to whom Lainey is instantly attracted.
Throw into the mix Abbie, Derek's adorable young daughter and you think the story is heading for the happy ever after we all dream about. Not so, as things change dramatically when T.C., Derek's former lover and Abbie's mother, arrives on the scene.
Great characters involved in a roller-coaster ride filled with every conceivable emotion you can think of.
I signed up for the Sweet Romance and Review team. I received an email from Donna Fasano asking if I wanted to read and review this book. I am always up for anything so I said yes.
I enjoyed this book. It was truly a sweet read. Lainey and Derek are brought together by his late Father. He felt that Lainey deserved a chance to reach her dreams and knew the secret to life that his son needed. I liked how their relationship developed and that they were accepting of each one another's children. This is a story about finding love, forgiveness of the past and striving for a happy future.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes a sweet story with kissing and no sex.
This is a fantastic quick light read. I love the way this author makes the characters come to life. This one had me hooked from the first page. It starts with an attempted kidnapping and just keeps going. Derek has a wounded soul so although he is attracted to Lainey he can't quite let himself go after what he wants. When a meddling grandfather steps into the picture everything gets a little crazy. Lainey's character is perfect, she is strong, smart, and sweet but she is also determined to stay true to herself. Her first priority is her son Brian. I loved the kids in this story, they made the whole story come together. I definitely recommend this one.
This story starts out with Lainey & Brian. Add Derek and his daughter Abbey. Lainey gets the chance she's always dreamed of. This is her chance at a stable life for her & her son. Her first meeting with Derek doesn't go well a few months later we find out why. Lainey & Derek have to work together. Lainey helps show him what's lacking with his relationship with Abbey. This leads to a question of maybe more than friendship between them. Then Laynie hired T.C. This results in turning everything upside down in both their lives and Abbeys. This has a great story line and is a great read!
I enjoy reading outside my own genre and sub-genre, and every so often I want to read a sweet romance. I picked up Take Me, I'm Yours because the blurb intrigued me and I'm a sucker for a good premise. Well, Ms. Fasano's story delivered on all counts. Sweet, but not insipid, romantic, but not gushy, with a touch of mystery thrown in for good measure, but nothing overly violent. Near perfect for my reading mood. If you like sweet romance with a touch of mystery, give this book a try.
This book was a fun and quick read for avid reader. The characters are endearing and the epilogue appreciated. Would have liked it more if it was a bit longer and the romance between Lainey and Derek more developed. Overall a decent read.
An interesting turn of events, leads to another twist which leads to fate? This story has many twists and surprises that keeps you guessing, but does love prevail? Reading is knowing! ;-) I give this book 3.5 stars it was sweet, but there became a point where Derek was extremely irrational and was very mean. I didn't like him much at that point.
This was an awesome book. So far, every book of Donna Fasano that I've read, I have loved. I have to admit, I was really aggravated with the way some things went but in the end, it all worked out. A very good book indeed. I admit that I don't always see things the way others do. But I loved it.
Read as part of the Hearts & Kisses anthology A foiled abduction, a returned check, a dream becomes a grand corporate venture, Miscommunications, a moody, distrustful workaholic boss who needs lessons in enjoying and balancing life. Heart warming
This book was a lovely quick read that was very romantic, suspenseful and mysterious. I loved that characters of Derek and Lainey. They were the a narrow road and after they met, it became a highway of self-discovery. I loved how the story came together and tied all pieces and loose ends.
