Loved this. It's definitely written for the couple struggling with fertility but as a pregnant woman focused on reducing chemical intake in my life, I found it very useful. The recipes for things like Kefir bread are new to me and will definitely be put into action in my home. Overall a valuable source of information for anyone making efforts to clean their diet and lifestyle up.

Non-fiction. I have read a lot about eating unprocessed, paleo, etc so I was interested to read this where nutrition is directly tied to fertility and pregnancy. It is, as I expected, not quite as polished as a book would have been from a major publisher. There were countless typos, which is jarring to me as a reader. However, this book did a good job of encouraging the reader to improve health as much as possible to prepare for conception. It discusses ridding the home of toxic cleaners, eating whole foods, exercise, and alternative medicine. There is a lot of good information here, and it is presented in an approachable manner. The author's personal religious beliefs were a bit unnecessary (and I largely share them) but not intrusive. Overall, not much new information for me personally but still nice to have it all together as it relates to this topic. I would have appreciated more back matter-- the author talks about all of the research she has done but it is not cited anywhere.

I was going to knock this book down a star because it needs some proof reading and references, but I decided to rate it based on helpfulness instead, since it really is a self-help fertility book. I actually learned a lot from this relatively short book. She covers the menstrual cycle and what goes on with the the hormones during the cycle, how to tell when you are fertile, what herbs can be used to improve the cycle and fertility. She discusses diet--what foods deliver optimal nutrition for health and fertility. She also discusses common fertility issues and gives some advice on those. This book is directed to those seeking to get pregnant, particularly those with fertility issues, but the info could be helpful to a couple's health in general.

This book is a one-of-a-kind collection of non-invasive, lifestyle-driven remedies and activities for healthy conception. The author's tone is friendly, conversational and never judgmental. A good read for those couples who are struggling with infertility and whose lifestyle leaves room for only the most natural behaviors.

This was a good read after I had a miscarriage. I don't know if I really needed the info since I got pregnant immediately after and carried to term fine, but I thought the information was very good and would recommend this as a good overview for those who want to take a natural approach to infertility and/or fixing hormonal issues in general, even if you aren't looking to become pregnant.
