When Madison Dubois witnesses a terrible crime, she goes to the only place she knows she'll be safe, Detective Rafe Jackson's house. Rafe has been in love with Madison Dubois for longer than he cares to admit. Unfortunately for him, she views him as a big brother. Or so he thinks. When she shows up on his doorstep terrified for her life, he has no choice but to keep her safe. Undeniable sparks fly when they’re forced to share a roof but unless he can keep her alive, their relationship might not have a chance to even start.
Author Please be advised that Tempting Witness was originally published under the title Miami Heat, but has been revised and edited. In addition, this book is erotic romance and therefore contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find anal play.
Savannah Stuart is the pseudonym of New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katie Reus. Under this name she writes slightly hotter romance than her mainstream books. Her stories still have a touch of intrigue, suspense, or the paranormal and the one thing she always includes is a happy ending. She lives in the South with her very own real life hero. In addition to writing (and reading of course!) she loves traveling with her husband.
This is a sexy, fun read. Madison witnesses a crime and turns to the only person she trusts enough to keep her safe, her long-time crush (and brother's best friend), police detective Rafe Jackson.
Rafe is stunned when he's told Madison is the key witness of a crime connected to a mafia crime lord. The little girl he once knew has grown into a beautiful woman, who is now staying under his roof for protection. He's confident he can keep her safe from the criminals, but will he be able to keep himself safe from their growing attraction and his desire to have her in his life long after the case is closed.
Recommended read!
NOTE: This story along with BETTER LATE THAN NEVER can now be found together in TEMPTING TROUBLE.
I love this author's writing style. For those that don't know, she also writes under the name Katie Reus. Her characters are complex...one minute you're chuckling along with them & the next, they're twisting you up inside. Rafe and Madison, in Tempting Witness, were great characters. The story line was steamier than her usual books, but none of it was over the top or unnecessary. The emotional connection between the characters was satisfying & the suspense kept the story flowing. The second bonus story was just that...a great bonus. It's short, but still filled with the trademark sexy, emotionally connected characters! Definitely worth the read!
It was good!!! YOu get a little, and I do mean a very little danger, hot mysterious guy and the witness to a crime.
Rafe is her brothers best friend. He runs hot and cold when it comes to her but she knows that after witnessing a crime he will keep her safe.
Madison is the girl he's been in love with for a while. When he finds out she is in danger he wants to do nothing but protect her. The chance arises to protect her by keeping her in his home. Of course sparks fly. IT was a good read, hot and quick. I seriously enjoyed it!
Detective Rafe Jackson finally has a break in the case he’s building against drug lord Sandrino Carbajal. One of Carbajal’s midlevel thugs has been seen beating someone nearly to death. The one downside? That witness is now in danger and she just so happens to be Madison Dubois, the sister of Rafe’s best friend and the woman he’s been in love with for more years than he’s willing to admit. Rafe’s determined to keep Madison safe, and she’s not objecting. Close quarters lend themselves to confessions, and some things, like passion, cannot be pushed aside. But their burgeoning relationship may never get off the ground if the men after Madison have anything to say about it.
Danger’s one hell of an aphrodisiac in the sultry Miami Heat. Savannah Stuart cranks up the heat between an endearing hero and heroine who are clearly meant to be together. I love how Rafe cherishes Madison; he’s both caring and seductive when it comes to her and I eagerly read Miami Heat, waiting for her to realize that what they had was more than just a passing fling. Add in a dash of menace from the bad guys for suspense and Miami Heat is one heck of a page-turner (or page-scroller, as the case may be). This is the first story I’ve read by Ms. Stuart and I look forward to reading many, many more.
