Strange goings on in his tenement building in Scotland prompt one man to start a journal. With a trail of events leading to the occupants of the flat upstairs, his journal pieces together those events with a startling conclusion...the creation of a virus that is taking over the town. A virus that kills the living, then brings them back to life as flesh eating monsters.

Mysterious house fires around the country. Bodies buried in the garden, and his girlfriend missing after a night out goes tragically wrong.

This journal follows an ordinary man's journey as he witnesses the birth of a virus that takes over the town and eventually the world.

This book is good but not great. It’s told from the standpoint of someone who essentially sits out the zombie apocalypse. Much of the time he’s hanging in his flat observing from afar or what he can find out on TV of the internet so it really misses a lot of the blood and guts which is the point of Zombie novels in my humble opinion. Also it leaves a giant hole at the end. Where’s the follow up story? On the other hand it’s interesting (if a bit slow) and well written with a bit of humor mixed in.
