F.D. Fair writes fierce, heart-stealing paranormal romance full of the strange, the magical, and the beautifully unexplained. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, she’s a devoted wife and proud mom of three wild, wonderful boys who constantly remind her that real life can be just as unpredictable as her books.

A lifelong fan of all things supernatural, F.D. fell in love with paranormal romance as a reader first — until the stories in her head grew too vivid to ignore. She turned her daydreams into words, and the Westwood Pack Series was born: a world of shifters, prophecies, true mates, and bonds strong enough to burn down any cage.

When she’s not writing about loyal Alphas, headstrong heroines, or the secrets that lurk in the shadows, you’ll find her curled up with a good book, coffee in hand, plotting her next adventure into the unknown.

Wolves and Witches

So I stumbled across this book by accident and by the time I realized that it was the second book, and I hadn’t read the first one, I was already hooked and couldn’t stop reading. So I guess now I have to go back and read the first book and also the third.
This book doesn’t disappoint. I always love a good paranormal romance and this was a great read. Skar and Lennox are second chance mates but that doesn’t make it any less great. Wolves and Witches can be in love.
I can’t wait to read about Darren and maybe Seb (fingers crossed on this one)
Overall, a great read and I will definitely be reading more.

BLURB:
Skarlyt
My mate left me rejected and broken on the bathroom floor. Don't worry I'm going to make him pay. Once I pick myself up and dust myself off, I'll come back stronger than he could ever imagine. He left me with more than a broken heart though. When he decides that he made a mistake it leaves me wondering how far he will go to get what he wants most?

Lennox
Rejected at first glance, she didn't even know my name. Who does that to a person? When my sisters join a new pack it offers me a chance at a new life, how could I turn that down?
Meeting a sexy witch isn’t what I envisioned for myself, I just need to make sure her crazy ex doesn’t get his hands on her.

The drama of the Westwood Pack continues. Although I liked Skarlyt’s character because she was funny and kept her BFF Alaric on his toes. What I didn’t like was her using magic to hide her pregnancy. She knew that eventually she would give birth so there was no reason to keep trying to hide the inevitable.

At the age of 16 she gave her virginity to her high school boyfriend Kirnon only for him to tell her he was leaving the next day breaking her heart. 12 years later she is still holding a grudge. Once again Skarlyt uses bad judgement when she notices Kirnon in the club Supernatural and he takes her into a back room to have sex. Kirnon recognized Skarlyt has his mate when he saw her at the club and therefore decided to stake his claim until he realized that she was a witch. After sex Kirnon rejected Skarlyt and left her in the bathroom which resulted in Skarlyt being pregnant and embarrassed about anyone finding out.

Lennox understands the sting of rejection. He was rejected by his mate before he even had a chance to meet her. Making the decision to join his sisters who are members of the Westwood Pack; Lennox began his journey towards a new life. Being a loner and one to keep to himself he was looking forward to the life of peace and belonging to a Pack once more. The day he met Skarlyt everything changed. When he first laid eyes on Skarlyt his wolf knew that she was their second chance mate. Learning of Skarlyt’s recent transition into motherhood didn’t discourage what Lennox knew in his heart.

Ever since Kirnon’s rejection he has been having problems with his shifting abilities due to his wolf dying at the loss of their mate. When Kirnon learns about Skarlyt’s destiny he decides to take matters into his own hands. With this knowledge Kirnon knew he needed to get Skarlyt back but knew it wouldn’t be easy because her destiny also revealed that she would find love with a second chance mate. Causing Kirnon to put a plan in place to take Skarlyt by any means necessary.
With Skarlyt missing Lennox knew that he would get her back no matter what it took.
A story of redemption, second chances, friendship and love.

So good!!

I am an ARC reader for this author in exchange for honest reviews, all thoughts are my own :)

SO. Wow. I just have to say how impressed I am by the huge improvement in writing skill, comparing the first book in this series to this one. The very few complaints I had with the first book were definitely improved in this one.

I LOVED Skarlyt and Lennox together. I can’t wait to see them grow in future books, and I can’t wait to see the story progression involving the two of them as well as with Phoebe, Darren and Seb. This series just keeps getting better and better, heading over to start book 3 right now!!

Skarlyt Moon is a witch who has an unfortunate history of having been tricked and rejected by Kirnon, who was supposed to be her life-mate but who rejected and left her immediately after consummating their relationship twelve years ago. Meeting him again, and against her better judgement, she pairs with him again … with tangible results which become a major part of the focus in a stand-off which threatens full-scale war and a turning upside-down of the status quo between witches, wolf-shifters, phoenix shifters, vampires and mages.

Not only is there war, but a love-interest involving Lennox, a wolf-shifter who was also rejected by his supposed-to-be life-mate and is looking to settle in the pack of Alaric, alpha male of the pack and best friend to Skarlyt.

This book has all the elements needed for a gripping page-turner of a story which I sat and made my way through in one day; and that I do not do often. It’s the second of a series, although can be read as a stand-alone, and I didn’t feel that I’d missed much by not reading the first; but as I really enjoyed it I expect to be reading that one soon. Recommended.

Phoebe and the crew are back but book two centres on another character, Skarlyt. With chapters devoted to character's thoughts, not always corresponding with other's thoughts from their own chapters, this makes the novel more intriguing and psychologically based that the action base of book one. Plenty of action there is though, of both the supernatural and human kind.

At about two-thirds in I thought the main story was almost complete with a few loose ends to tie up. Boy were those ends tied with a continuation of all that had come before. Even after the final chapter, when the story is well and truly completed, we are treated to an epilogue that tells us that book three just has to be read, and why.

Again, the characters are so well drawn that you think you know them, cheer for them, and fear for them. Another cracker from F. D. Fair meaning that book three is now a necessity for me along with a plea for a fourth.

Easy to read

This story was enjoyable. The FMC, Skarlyt, and the MMC, Lennox, were sweet and genuine. After being both rejected, Mother Moon gave them a second chance, which should have been their first in my opinion🧐 Their first fated mates were both terrible people!
The storybuilding was good, and slow paced. This book is the second one in the serie "The Westwood Pack" but can be read as a standalone.
I will read the next book, the story of Darren would be interesting for sure!

I’ve read a lot of rejected mates books recently, and one thing that drives me insane is when the rejected mate takes back the rejector without any real resolution. This book IS NOT THAT. It was a great story with a villain you love to hate and a heroine who knows that she deserves better.

The spin I really loved is that the hero was also rejected, and recognizes when his first mate (the one who did the rejecting) is playing fast & loose with him. He doesn’t pine for her or take her up on her “offer.” He simply walks away and takes himself out of the situation. It’s awesome when characters behave like mature adults!

As for the villain, he’s anything but mature, and that’s kind of one of the reasons I love to hate him lol.

The only thing I would have liked to see was a bit more interaction between the H & h before everything went down. The building of their friendship was glossed over briefly, but I feel like seeing at least one full scene with the two together before they accepted each other romantically would have made this a full 5-star story. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. (Skarlyt’s brother, Sebastyn definitely piqued my interest).

Skarlyt was rejected and is trying to rebuild herself after the heartbreak. Lennox has joined a new pack, and with it a new life. He meets Skarlyt and they can't help the emotions that follow.

The author has done it again with another great book. They've built a world you can get lost in and created another romance you can't help but love. From the plot down to the spelling of Skarlyt (I absolutely love this spelling!), the story had me.

Lennox had a crush on Olivia and he was happy to discover on his first pack run after his 18th birthday, that they were fated mates. However Olivia didn't want to mate a low ranked wolf after dating the Beta so she formally rejected him. Lennox had to leave his pack to get away from the heart break. Even then Olivia and her chosen mate wouldn't leave him alone and spread lies about him. Every time he returned to visit his family, Olivia tried to get him to sleep with her so she could have a baby since only fated mates could have children. Thankfully his family joined the Westwood Pack and he finally has a pack he can settle down with. Then he meets Skarlyt, the alpha's best friend and a powerful witch. Lennox is surprised that the Goddess has taken pity on him and given him a second mate but Skarlyt isn't ready to take a chance yet.

As a teenager, Skarlyt had a crush on a pack member. At 16, he took her v-card and then informed her the next morning that he was moving away. Skarlyt was heartbroken. Years later, when her alpha and best friend was away at a wedding, she decided to go to a bar for a night of fun since her friend could be over-protective. There she meets her old crush and has a passionate encounter in the bathroom. It quickly becomes clear that they are fated mates but he rejects Skarlyt again. She is left lonely and pregnant. She hides her pregnancy from everyone until she goes into labor at a pack party. When she thinks of the mate who rejected her, she gets a deep feeling of fear what he will do to her baby so she is living in hiding. After her mother the coven leader strengthens the wards, Skarlyt is ready to come out where she meets Lennox who claims that she is his second chance fated mate. Skarlyt is afraid to listen because she doesn't want to be rejected again.

FD Fair did an amazing job with her second book in the Westwood Pack series. It an amazing story with a unique twist with a rejected mate .With mate magic we get Skars story which is amazing. Skar runs into her high school love who rejected her in a cruel way. They have a heated make out session where it is revealed he is her mate tand he rejects her. This encounter leaves her with a special gift to arrive 9 months later.
Lennox is Charleighs brother and was also rejected by his mate . He has decided to join her and take a chance at joining the pack. A chance meeting had him realizing Skar is his second chance mate. But it comes with a rocky road. Skar is kidnapped by the mate who rejected her, mages have returned and new allies have been found.

*BOOK REVIEW*
BOOK: Second Moon
AUTHOR: FD Fair
PLOT: Skarlyt was rejected by her mate Kirnon after a night of passion. Skarlyt ends up pregnant as a result of that night and she's determined to take care of her child alone. Lennox was rejected by his mate Olivia and was absolutely gutted. To add insult to injury, his alpha tarnishes his reputation by telling other alphas that Lennox can't be trusted because he "tried stealing Matteo's mate and will steal theirs if they let him in." As a result, Lennox has lived a nomadic life never staying in one place for long and never feeling like he truly has a home. When he pays his parents a visit, he finds out that they're moving to the Westwood Pack and he decides to pay his sisters a visit there. When he goes, he lays eyes on Skarlyt and instantly knows that she is his second chance, true mate. Skarlyt is hesitant at first but starts to warm up to the idea the closer to Lennox she gets. When she is kidnapped by Kirnon, Lennox is quick to action. With Constance, Skarlyt's mom, he goes to the hotel where she's being held and puts the plan into action. But danger is still around the corner not only for Skarlyt, but for the Westwood Pack and Phoebe and Alaric's pup. This book was great! I'm obsessed with this series! FD Fair doesn't disappoint and the books just get better as you progress! I can't wait to see what happens in Sophia and Darren's story!

Book two of the Westwood Pack tells the story of Skarlyt and Lennox. They are actually second chance mates. This story in the series was just as interesting and as delightful of a read as book one. I am so glad i decided to continue reading the series.

Skarlyt is a witch with a past. She was rejected by her first mate in a very traumatic way. Lennox was rejected by his first mate before he even met her. Of course these rejections lead to Skarlyt and Lennox becoming mates and falling for each other. As in most stories they have many obstacles to overcome on the path to happiness.

What a pleasant read and series so far. I can not wait to read book three. So far i recommend these books!
Check for TWs as always!

“This story is insanely good! I was dying to read Skar and Lennox’s story. Gimme all the rejected mates stories but this one was even more special because not only her was rejected but him too. That’s so uncommon! The girls are always the rejected ones so this was something new I was looking forward to read. Mate Magic had everything shifters, magic, attraction and war. Yes, I know. Everything to have you on the edge, turning pages as fast as you can. Skarlyt had a hard beginning not gonna lie about that, the whole rejected thing was bad enough but yet it wasn’t over for her. Things weren’t good for Lennox too but meeting each other was the best that could happened to them, right? Well, if you’re into fated mates, second chances and forbidden romance this books is for you. I’m looking forward to the next book.”

Skarlyt and Lennox . . .

Things don’t always go smoothly, even when you find your mate. Skarlyt Moon is a witch who had found her mate, only to have him reject her in a cruel way. Lennox, whose mate had also rejected him, joins a new pack to start over and he meets Skarlyt. But when the two realize they are second-chance mates, will they accept each other? And what happens when Skarlyt’s first mate comes back to steal her away? What is he after her for? Will he take her from Lennox or will Lennox save her?

Skarlyt and Lennox

Skarlyt has a secret that she's been meeting from everyone. She knows she needs to tell them though because it'll come out soon enough.

Lennox is visiting the pack with his family that is moving there. He's not too exited because he didn't feel comfortable with the old pack. When he gets there he seems to like how they operate as it was very unexpected.

As soon as he sees her though he knows who she is. They've both had heart breaking pasts, but they'll need to figure out if they can make it work out this time.

A very good continuation from book one. I definitely recommend this one and the spiciness is exactly what you'll want.

Amazing

This the second book in the Westwood Pack series and it was just as amazing as the first. I once again was hooked right from the start and was completely drawn in. The workdvand characters are amazing. I loved Skarlyt's and Lennox's story of second chance mates. I love the theme of family whether it is by blood or just by love. There is plenty of action and spice. I can't wait to read Sophia and Darren' s story next.

After having finished the first book, Rise of the Phoenix, I immediately dove right in!

With the focus of this book having shifted to Skarlyt, the story begins eight months prior to the end of the last book. Skarlyt Moon, a witch, has had unfortunate luck when it comes to love. After she’s rejected by her mate, Kirnon, she tries to rebuild herself. During this time, she meets Lennox.

There were so many components of this book I enjoyed! Much like the first in the series, I was captivated by the modern day meets fantasy setting, which made many of the characters relatable. However, Mate Magic focused more on “second chance love” which I found to be entirely spellbinding. This was definitely a “just one more page” type of read!

I would absolutely recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal romances. Shapeshifters, witches, magic, vampires, love, spice, it’s got it all!

YES. Going into this second book in the series, it felt like it was going to be easy to predict based on how the first book ended. However, I am sooo happy there were twists in the book introduced that I couldn’t predict and it was so fast paced. The pairing of Lennox and Skarlyt was genius considering how badly they had both been hurt, and it… Just. Made. Sense. Skar deserved Lennox, vice versa. I also liked the character development for Skarlyt during this book that really helped round out her character. I’m really excited to see what’s next in store for so many of the characters.
