I didn't like the flow of this book.

The Overview
This is a children's picture book about the story of Easter. Each page is a bright and catchy picture depicting a scene from the Easter story and the words are all in rhyme.
The Readability
While this is a young children's book seeing that it's a picture book, the reading level is higher then the targeted audience. I personally think it would be very slow reading at best for the average child drawn to look at this book. It's best to be read to children rather than by children.
The Highlights
The bright and emotion capturing pictures are the highlight of this book.
The Downside
The story line is confusing. While an adult gets the point and can do their best to follow along, and a child may get the main idea thanks to the pictures, the words themselves are very confusing and hard to follow. The story does not flow well and because it has to rhyme it's at times out of order or jumbled. The phrase "Journey, journey, Jesus!" - and variations of that phrase - are used on almost every page and yet there's no clear reason why. I found myself reading this book and the whole time wondering why that phrase was connected to this story.
The Recommendation
My personal recommendation is to save your money and your time and look for better books to read to your children about Easter. There are many books out there that will help your children understand Easter and why we celebrate it...this is not one of them.

I have been looking for books for my 3 year olds to read for Easter. This is our favorite so far. I think we will be reading this for many years to come.

The flow at the beginning was frustrating, but it got better and finished strong. Nice overview of Jesus's life for kids.
