Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.

The snoopers always set up the villain in the first chapter, and I KNOW these books are made for like 2nd graders, but I'm also like...a little subtlety?

This one did have a nice homey feel as all the kids brought in something that was special to them at Christmas.

This is one of the weaker Snooper books, IMO, but I think it would probably be more relevant to the small kids it's aimed at, as they're more likely to be horrified by the loss of their special Christmas things. Once again, there's no punishment for bad behaviour, which is the weirdest thing about the SVK series.

This was really cute, but how could the teacher not even figure out who the culprit was? It couldn’t have been any more obvious!

At least this one was a little more realistic, apart from the fact it’s Christmas again 😂 Everyone in class (except Ricky) brought in something special for the class’s holiday spirit display. The twins bring a cookie cutter, Amy brings in a Santa cookie plate, etc. Ricky is the only one not excited about Christmas. Lila soon joins him, because he special pin goes missing 😱 Surely its misplaced... until Winstons antique Christmas tree star goes missing 😱 It’s a case for the Super Snoopers! The rest of the class takes their stuff home, but Liz convinces the Snoopers to leave theirs. As more of their stuff goes missing, the rest of the club gets sad and mad. No one is owning up to it. Then they find a blue footprint. And paste hand prints 🤨 Finally, everything is gone. The snoopers are bummed, but Ricky is more so. His parents are having a baby and have forgotten about him. The Snoopers convince him a new baby isn’t so bad, and he works on completing his mother’s blue paste filled Christmas present, and a new one for the baby. She shows up to help with the class party, and gives him his present early, so he gives her hers, and all is good. The snoopers realise it’s not things that make Christmas, but people! Oh and Ricky (very last minute) admits he took all the stuff, because he didn’t want anyone else to be happy... and not much is said by his mother or Mrs Otis... hmm... the real mystery is why he got away with it without any repercussions... 🤔
My rating - 3/10 - Super easy mystery but at least it was realistic! Not cool Ricky just got away with it though!
