I am a fan of Teri Sloat. I like the illustrations in this book. It's a simple concept where you look at the bottom of the page and find the number of things for each number. Alena had the patience for me to find things up through number nine. Maybe it was me that lost patience after that. But if we go back to this book I may try to find all the things.

My dd loved search and find books. This book combines math sense + search and find into one. We loved this book. We practice counting half of each whole 10s number. We looked for each item in the detailed landscapes.

April 25, 2023This book can help students actually see how many is 100 and it can help count for young students. The visual aid is very helpful for students to see how big 100 kids look like and it will help them practice say the numbers.

From One to One Hundred, by Teri Sloat, is all about numbers between one and one hundred as indicated in the title. They review the numbers one through ten, then by every ten after that. So they have a page to review each of the numbers one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, nighty, and one hundred. Each of the designated pages has an entertaining scenery for the specific numbers and include an engaging activity if the reader decides to participate in it. But if you would like to see what that surprise activity is, then make sure to go ahead and read this book!
The book hardly has any text throughout it, but just the numbers and pictures on the pages. I think it can be a beneficial book as long as it is read by the appropriate aged reader. Although it does not challenge the reader too much, it can still teach a good lesson to the right age groups. It can relate to those children because the cover has a variety of diverse students that I think would attract them to read it because they are similar to those young children. By reading this book, I am sure that young children will love the book's detailed pictures and short activities with the numbers on each page.

At first I thought this book may be another boring counting book, but it was actually very intricate and well written. There are incredible drawings which have different items drawn for the number represented, and these items are listed at the bottom of the page for children to find and count in the pages. This makes the counting a little harder (because some items are hard to find) but more fun at the same time because readers are finding the pictures themselves. This also gives great practice for counting in the long run.
