p. 80 "Don't ever be afraid to be attractive. Our Creator made us to be that way. Be afraid only that you many make beauty a pretty little god to worship."
"Never surrender your affections to any man except the one to whom you intend to give yourself forever."
p. 82, "Man has three great desires, - the desire to enjoy things, the desire to get things, the desire to do things. The desire to enjoy things concerns all the appetites of our bodies, what we enjoy through our senses. The desire to get things concerns all the world that is outside ourselves, the things we can get possession of. The desire to accomplish things concerns all that we may do to affect that world outside ourselves. Our young people want to have a good time, enjoying the pleasures of life, they want to make money, and they have an ambition to make the most of their lives. These are three perfectly right desires, natural and normal for all humans.
When the desire to enjoy things leads to the use of the bodily appetites in a way contrary to the will of God, we call it the lust of flesh.
When the desire to get possession of things, or to use money, is satisfied in a way that is contrary to God's will, we call it the lust of the eye, or covetousness.
When the highest of human desires, what we call ambition, the desire to accomplish something, to make the most of our abilities, leads to a life that does not put God in the center, we call it the sin of pride or the vainglory of life - going after things that man glories in rather than the glory of God."
p. 95, "The Lord bless thee and keep thee,
The Lord make His face to shine upon thee,
And be gracious unto thee;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee,
And give thee peace."
