A journalist recounts his experiences as a neurosurgery patient, describing the scientific principles behind the procedures he underwent and profiling the patients and doctors he encountered
An intense but frank story of surviving a brain hemmorage. While the story was good and the related history of surical techniques fascinating, and while overall the story is good, it is missing that last little bit to be rated 5/5. Possibly just outside my range of taste for non-fiction. However, it is a solid and well-told story and I would definitelt recommend it.
Since I've had four surgeries for brain aneuryms I can speak with authority. This book is real. What he tells us is exactly as it happens, only he had the courage to write about it. I still don't.
