This book, gives me mixed feelings. There are parts that are very good, and parts that are very problematic. It speaks well of African American Christian experience in America, but then speaks of how one can "re-interpret the Bible" and how the Bible's meaning isn't "set." Overall I think one can get some good insights, but should be aware they are not getting a full representation of orthodox Christianity.
