This is the first novel I've read by Ms. Yahrah St. John. I must admit I originally only purchased the book because my daughters name is also Ciara...like the character, so I thought why not. Well I'm glad I did! This book was a page-turner from beginning to end. I enjoyed the well developed characters and the storyline had a smooth flow. The romance between Ciara and Jonathan was full of passion and very intense, from their first meeting. The story had love, betrayal, mystery and let's not forget the politics. I always enjoy a good novel with a plot of love and politics, because it's always a risky combination, but when pulled together properly the risk is well worth it. After reading this novel from Ms. St. John, I have to back-track and read more of her work. And I will definitely pick up some of her future novels.
While not my favorite book by this author, it was still good. I love any book based on the political scene; so much can happen. We have angst, betrayal, and passion.
Ciara Miller is waiting her turn, working hard, taking the less than glamorous assignments at the television station she works. Jonathan has been groomed for politics, and he is making a run for the Senatorial seat.
From the minute these two meet, it is electric, but a friendship should be all they ever have due to their professions. Besides, Ciera doesn’t believe in love. But the world of politics is a dirty one. Who to trust? The lies and hidden agendas are everywhere. I found myself completely caught up in the story.
Thank you to the Booksprout, and Oliver Heber Books for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
This was a love story of Ciara Miller and Jonathan Butler. They met because she was a TV newscaster and he a politician running for a congressional seat. Originally they but heads then they eventually felt an attraction. Everyone felt she was a liability to his position but he fought their doubts until someone set up to sabotage his election. However I the end they found their happily ever after.
This book had so many errors. Where is the editor for this author. Overall I enjoyed the story. Don’t know if I’ll read any more from this author. If you have an editor, you need to fire them.
Ciarra life hadn't been easy but she was a survivor. Jonathon came into her life when she least expected it and they both got more than they bargined for. Good read.
