Penelope "Penny" Jones was born on November 24, 1946 at about seven pounds in a nursing home in Preston, Lancashire, England. She was the first child of Anthony Winn Jones, an engineer, who died at 85, and his wife Margaret Louise Groves Jones. She has a brother, Anthony, and a sister, Prudence "Pru".
She had been a keen reader from the childhood - her mother used to leave her in the children's section of their local library whilst she changed her father's library books. She was a storyteller long before she began to write romantic fiction. At the age of eight, she was creating serialized bedtime stories, featuring make-believe adventures, for her younger sister Prue, who was always the heroine. At eleven, she fell in love with Mills & Boon, and with their heroes. In those days the books could only be obtained via private lending libraries, and she quickly became a devoted fan; she was thrilled to bits when the books went on full sale in shops and she could have them for keeps.
Penny left grammar school in Rochdale with O-Levels in English Language, English Literature and Geography. She first discovered Mills & Boon books, via a girl she worked with. She married Steve Halsall, an accountant and a "lovely man", who smoked and drank too heavily, and suffered oral cancer with bravery and dignity. Her husband bought her the small electric typewriter on which she typed her first novels, at a time when he could ill afford it. He died at the beginning of 21st century.
She earned a living as a writer since the 1970s when, as a shorthand typist, she entered a competition run by the Romantic Novelists' Association. Although she didn't win, Penny found an agent who was looking for a new Georgette Heyer. She published four regency novels as Caroline Courtney, before changing her nom de plume to Melinda Wright for three air-hostess romps and then she wrote two thrillers as Lydia Hitchcock. Soon after that, Mills and Boon accepted her first novel for them, Falcon's Prey as Penny Jordan. However, for her more historical romance novels, she adopted her mother's maiden-name to become Annie Groves. Almost 70 of her 167 Mills and Boon novels have been sold worldwide.
Penny Halsall lived in a neo-Georgian house in Nantwich, Cheshire, with her Alsatian Sheba and cat Posh. She worked from home, in her kitchen, surrounded by her pets, and welcomed interruptions from her friends and family.

The Tycoon's Virgin features a likable hero and heroine who each believe they hold conflicting interests regarding a local factory. But it's not long, though, before both Jodi and Leo realize they actually want the same thing—and each other. 😉
How Jodi finds herself gaining access to Leo's hotel room, and sleeping there, is ridiculous yet amusing at the same time. The event even takes on fairytale parallels: Jodi (Goldilocks) gains unlawful access to Leo's (the Three Bears) hotel room, being thirsty she then tries "punch" (porridge) and soon finds herself sleeping on Leo's bed. Like Goldilocks, Jodi flees in a frantic rush when she next awakens. But unlike that story Jodi does more than sleep in Leo's bed and, to her embarrassment, runs into Leo again. The fairytale analogy is extended to even include a fairy godmother of sorts.
Fairytale analysis aside, I really enjoyed Leo's love and yearning for Jodi. He is as smitten as a romance hero should be and Jodi is a sweet heroine one can root for.

3.5 stars. OMG, this was so cute! The H and the h (who I really liked) literally fall in love the first moment they set eyes upon each other. From then on you get to read a sweet and hilarious (and sometimes frustrating) story about two people who really can't stay away from each other, but try really hard to do so anyway. And it finally takes an Italian mamma/fairy godmother to get them to see the light and confess to what their heart, body and soul truly feel. Such a charming little love story. As satisfying as chicken soup when you're down with a cold.

Very simple and sweet story. If you like soft, smitten, sensitive, romantic and not at all alpha heroes this is the ideal book for you!

Me ha gustado la trama del libro.
La pareja de Jodi y Leo me pareció muy bonita, Leo siempre fue muy lindo con Jodi, obviamente al principio no, pero cuando se dio cuenta de sus errores al juzgarla fue de lo más hermoso.
Jodi era una protagonista que me ponía nerviosa, era muy compulsiva y no ponía atención a lo que se le decía, demasiado orgullosa y no dejaba que nadie le dijera lo contrario a lo que ella quería creer.
Leo, en cambio, fue muy amable y carismático todo el tiempo, un hombre con moral también, me encantó.
Me gustó que la historia tuviera un epílogo y también el final que se le dio a la pareja.

Siempre me han gustado las novelas de Penny Jordan y tengo varias en físico que conservo con mucho cariño. Leer En la cama equivocada no fue la excepción porque me ha gustado de principio a fin.
Este es un Enemy To Lovers muy bueno. Me gustó la trama y el desarrollo de los personajes.
Leo, un empresario con carácter, sucumbe a los encantos de Jodi, una maestra de escuela, y entonces todo se torna en una montaña rusa de emociones después de ese primer encuentro.
Confusiones, acusaciones y una química imparable hacen que sigas leyendo hasta el final.
Me gustó mucho el epílogo también, muy bonito y merecido para ambos.

Penny Jordan was one of the authors who made me fall in love with romance novels. In my younger days, I bought her books without even reading the blurb—her name alone was enough. And this one? Simply amazing.
Wow. What can I say, except that it epitomises everything a true romance reader hopes for—and so much more.

Great story, plenty of it too. It might be just me but I would've liked to have known the outcome of the investigations and also some comeuppance for the stuck-up parent. Nigel needs a story now. :)

Not Jordan's best work. I read the English edition (weirdly not on here). Typical misyaken meeting love story... but a little distasteful ontghe how it comes to pass (drunk woman).

gr2 kesan prtma itulah,leo nyangka kalo jodi cwe bayaran yg dsewa musuhny bwt meres dya.tp bingunglah leo,sewaktu tw jodi trnyta cm seorg kepala sekolah yg brusaha mempertahankan perusahaan yg akan d akuisisi leo,agar kehidupan d kota kcl trsbt tetap brjalan.
saat leo tw jodi gadis baik2,ia harus memikirkan ulang konsekuensi yg terjadi akibat hub mrka,namun jodi salah menanggapi mksd leo,dan makin membenci dri sndri krn msh mencintai leo yg spt itu.
gosip yg menimpa jodi membuat mrka terpaksa bertunangan,tp smntra jodi melaksanakanny stgh hati,leo malah tampak sungguh2.
