John D. Anderson, Jr. (born October 1, 1937) is the Curator of Aerodynamics at the National Air and Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Very helpful introduction to CFD. After reading this book, I feel better prepared for another of my grad classes. I read the course description before and after reading this book and now I know what the terms on the course description mean (its a start!).
Even if you're only interested in aircraft or aerodynamics as a hobby, I would recommend reading John Anderson. He writes in a friendly, conversational style and motivates further study.
