Andy Warhol’s 1962 painting of the Campbell’s soup cans caused different reactions from the critics of the time. In this one page publication Louis Menand explains what role this controversial painting played in the intellectual history of the Cold War. This was first presented as a short lecture at the University of Oregon and was later published. I can’t dismiss this as unlikely but it has raised more questions than providing answers. Menand would have done better to elaborate a bit more on this publication. I say: if you see it, read it but it isn't worth the time looking for it.
