Such a lovely, reassuring story to read at bedtime for little ones. I picked this up today in the bookshop and cannot wait to share it with my own little one soon! Perfect present for new parents.

This was a really nice book to read to my children, it shows just how much a parent loves their child. Some of the sentences didn't flow so well but its not a long book and they are not long sentences so its not too much of a problem. My little ones love hearing this story and are always saying "awww" Children aged 2 and 1.

I Love You, Little Monster by Giles Andreae, is one of the most delightful children's books that I have read in a long time.

It tells the story of how Little (who was suppose to be fast asleep), heard all the things that Big wanted to say in the day but for whatever reason did not get around to until Little was in bed asleep.

Big tells Little about the journey of the day and indeed life through both of their eyes and just wants Little to know that he loves him/her even though life is busy or he may tell him off and that he wants Little to believe in himself and his dreams.
After hearing all the wonderful things that Big has said, Little smiles a big smile and slowly drifts off to sleep.

This book tells the tale of the pure love a parent has for their child, reminding both sides just how loved, cherished and important they are.

It is very emotive which parents/adults and children can relate to, as we often forget to say nice things during a busy day.

My children absolutely loved it!

A beautiful and moving examination of a parents love for a child (although as the characters are simply Big and Little it would work for children who are being cared for by someone other than a parent/parents.) While Little is supposed to be asleep Big makes time to say how special and wonderful his (but only the illustrations lead to this gender conclusion)child is. Fortunately Little isn't asleep so gets to hear that all that is said. When I first read this as parent of a long awaited new born several passages brought a lump to my troat or a tear to my eye. that little is now approaching two and hopefully knows that he "makes my heart want to sing out with pride".

A book that tells little ones about a parents love. Even when they are busy and don't have much time, even when they scold you they still love their little people to death
