I was given this book to teach a business class about our political economic system and the Federal Monetary Policy. The structure of the book is well done and easy to navigate picking on topics and areas students need to get a clear idea of the connections and the effects of policy. Students need an understanding of macroeconomics and the U.S. government as well as a solid understanding of financial concepts. A historical perspective or prelude will help establish a framework for students who choose to navigate to areas of the book that interest them.

Material was very clearly presented and well written. While a bit dry at times, I rarely had trouble understanding the concepts. A good overview of financial markets with some of the key calculations for valuation, interest rates, etc included.
