PHILIP FRACASSI is the Bram Stoker and British Fantasy Award-nominated author of the novels A Child Alone with Strangers, Gothic, Boys in the Valley, The Third Rule of Time Travel, and The Autumn Springs Retirement Home Massacre. He is also the author of the story collections Behold the Void, Beneath a Pale Sky, and No One is Safe!

If only we had read this novel when it was first published, we may have heeded its implicit warnings by dint of its ficvicious counterintuition and avoided today’s convulsions, including the latest one this week in America. Trump himself. Even Brexit as a spasm of rage. As we may have done if we had also read Omensetter’s Luck by Gass.

This one is not your normal Fracassi book, but it has some intense moments in it. Living inside W's head was a treat for sure. This guy seems to hate everything, and nothing can make him happy instead of himself. his ego is huge and since no one or anything can live up to his expectations or his ego he leads a rough go of it. i really loved this one, just very good writing. this is Fracassi's first novel he wrote back in 1999, but man its so good. writing is so good. read this as a kindle book, but i now need to find one of the paper copies that wasnt burnt up in the fire.
