The Gibson family so far have been through so much and yet they have come back from so much every time they think everything is going well comes another knock down poor Annie losing the baby then poor Tom losing Marianne and then finding out about their sister's and May dying how tragic was all this very sad .Thank goodness Fredrick came up with the idea of Rosie for Tom to help let his grief out and star to live life again.
This is the 3rd book of “The Gibson Saga” in the year 1848 and Annie Ashworth formerly Annie Gibson had worked hard at becoming a great seamstress. Annie did such a good job at it that she opened her own dress making salon that she named “ The Bilsden Ladies Salon. It was in the very best part of High Street and she was very proud of all she had accomplished.
A mix if all emotions..it like you are watching everything live.. you can just feel it while you read. Oh God how can someone write like this. I just cant wait to take up the next book in this series.. luv you Anna
Love this series, there is a minor mistake as Catherine’s baby is called Philip John in book two but Samuel John in book three. Otherwise a lovely series.
Loved book 3 in this series taking us from 1845 Lancashire seeing Annie achieve personal happiness and ongoing business success. Yes, there are trials and tribulations, and another enemy made - her stepdaughter Beatrice for one! Sadness at how William finds out about his birth and real father by a bitter and hating Beatrice which almost spoils the close relationship with his mother Annie. Also, to see her brother Tom to continue to find his happiness with Marianne which when she is killed by the reckless Lord Darrington you mourn along with Tom and yes, I cried for his loss! Annie's other siblings continue to thrive, and lives improve through the opportunities given to them. Also, her father is given a third chance to find happiness despite Tom's initial disapproval. Also, the doctor gains another daughter - illegitimate from his estranged wife who dies in childbirth and the chance of happiness with his young housekeeper Ellie - Annie's friend from when they both started out as servants in the doctor's household in the 1830s. I loved it.

Book 3 in the Gibson Family Saga - two more to go! Really enjoying this family saga and the stories reflect the history of the period so well. This one deals with the Great Exhibition and the building of the railways.
a great series, loved every book in the series, as it was older some were harder to find...but they have recently be re-released and i hope they find a new audience.
