8/10

Not 10/10 just because it doesn’t hit all the perfect beats for me, but it was nice to read something that is in another realm of tastes and preferences!

Vardeman is fantastic at worldbuilding and fit many vibrant characters into this long, long series. It was very action packed, and pretty sexy, and overall a very satisfying and no-punches-pulled read.

I love how irreverent it is when it comes to character deaths and how deep and layered the main characters are. When they’re cheesy or super chosen-one-y, it’s like “Hey, what do you want? Characters that are lame and have dumb egos and play coy and DIE?” and it’s like, “No, actually I don’t want that. This book kicks ass.” So that was nice.

It’s been a long time since I’ve read an Epic of sorts and this was a super fun one. High stakes, high tension, high rewards, high times.

I dug it.

The disastrous ramifications of the betrayal of City in the Sky and its queen Moriana by the Fallen Ones continues to spread across the Sundered Realm as the Dark One's plan to conqueror... and kill... all of human kind is being realized. Desperate times call for desperate measures. The gods themselves refuse to give any help, and it's only through a truce between the bitterest of enemies that humanity has any type of hope for survival. But will that be enough!!!

This is it...the sixth and final book in THE WAR OF POWERS series by Robert Vardeman and the late Victor Milan. And the best was definitely saved for last as the authors unleash all the stops and bring all the threads of the story line together to create the amazing ending that this adventure deserved.

Both Vardeman and Milan have had their individual successes in the world of fantasy and they brought their individual styles and voices together in this to give their readers an fun and exciting story.

On to the next adventure....
