This was a book, my wife and I read separately about the parent country of Brazil, where we are going this summer. It was an elemental book we read to get some basic ideas. Portugal, of course, speaks Portuguese. Spain is its main neighbor. There are some interesting wildlife there like bears, lynx, and ibex. They eat a lot of sea food. The Portuguese explored and discovered Brazil, which they colonized. Also, the went down the coast of Africa eventually rounding the tip of Africa. They also have bull fighting. Their food looks interesting.
