This book is a collection of sermons and radio messages on the subject of the Holy Spirit by 20th century healing evangelist Kathryn Kuhlman. Her wisdom, spirituality, and humanity come together to create a a joyous sense of victory in the Holy Spirit.
"...the fruits and gifts of the Spirit are being restored to the Church." ~ Kathryn Kuhlman, The Greatest Power in the World, Page 46, Paragraph 1
There is no doubt that Karthryn Kuhlman had an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. Not only because of the miracles that took place in her ministry, but also in the way that she describes the Holy Spirit. She speaks on the Holy Spirit as a person. A person that can be greived and that has intellect.
This book will help you to become more intimate with the Holy Spirit and understand His purpose on this earth, as the third member of the Trinity.
As far as I go, this is the first theological book by the author. This is a pneumatology book, how the works of Holy Spirit in the old and new testament.
Kathryn Johanna Kuhlman in her lifetime and perhaps in this present century, demonstrated the restoring and healing power of the Holy Spirit than any other woman.
This is largely due to the fact that she lived what she believed and went ahead to proclaimed with doggedness cum boldness what she believed.
She was of the opinion that no person need ever be defeated in the journey of life. Your consent to defeat is what eventually attracts defeat to a man or woman.
The author spoke extensively on the Holy Spirit and to her, the Holy Spirit was her best Friend. She stated that SALVATION is the first step to a life of victory for the unsaved. This victory is tied to the finished work of Jesus Christ many years ago on the CROSS.
She also pointed to struggling believers the source of power needed to lead a victorious life - HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit to a believer is: 1] Advocate, 2] Comforter, 3] Counselor, 4] Helper, 5] Intercessor, 6] Standby, 7] Strengthener. . LESSON LEARNT The more one realises that he/she is absolutely nothing without the power of God, without the manifestation of the Holy Spirit Who gives the power. He/she is just flesh, blood and bone. And will remain defeated in the journey of life.
It is a common perception that charismatic movement places more emphasis on personal belief and spiritual experience rather than Christ-centered doctrine. Contrary to popular belief, Kuhlman exhorts believers to study the Word of God thoroughly and base their spiritual experience on the Bible. She warns believers of emotional fanaticism and the danger of putting too much emphasis on spiritual experience. Putting aside her biography and critiques from the others, my overall impression of Kuhlman, based on this piece of writing, is that she is one who studies and bases her ministry on the Word. She is sensitive to the Holy Spirit and admonishes believers not to grieve the Spirit. This book uses simple language to convey the truth of God, which makes it easy to read for those who wish to find out what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit. If any conclusion can be made from the admonitions in this book; it will be that the gifts of the Spirit did not cease with the early church and that it is available to Christians today. We ought to aware of the Third Person of the Trinity and His role in the present age. Great power is available to all believers today!
Kathryn Kuhlman uses scripture to define for us the identity, purpose, and personhood of the Holy Spirit. Her explanations are simple truths woven together through use of the old and new Testament to help us understand the nature of God’s Holy Spirit. Her enthusiasm is bright, passionate and thoughtful as she shares this wisdom and understanding with the reader. Everything she says is backed up by multiple verses from the Word of God.
The way Kathryn Kuhlman explains the relationship she has built with the Holy Spirit in this book will make you desire your own. This is one of the best books I have read. It will answer some, if not all, of your burning questions.
I love the books in the Spirit-filled classic series! Always encouraging, always inspiring, and always uplifting. We can learn so much from the old revival and healing preachers. Kathryn Kuhlman was a class in her own. She had such a deep knowledge of the person of the Holy Spirit. A great read.
This book is amazing, if you want to know the Holy Spirit and His power more, personal encounter with the Holy Spirit, personal journey with the Holy Spirit and how He works in us, you get to know more about Him, and Kathryn Kuhlman wrote in a very personal manner, I love how when I read this book I felt like I'm in a deep talk with Kathryn Kuhlman... I could also talk with the Holy Spirit about my journey with Him...
This is a book on the compilation of sermons by the author on the subject of Holy Spirit. It's good for those who hunger and seek to know more about the personality of the Holy Ghost. And indeed it will be blessed and being challenged - for more in Jesus Christ and so much more in the power of God than we can realised.
