Weegee was the pseudonym of Ascher (later anglicized to Usher) Fellig, who emigrated to the United States when he was ten and was renamed Arthur. He was an American photographer and photojournalist, known for his stark black and white street photography.
I have loved the photography of Arthur Fellig - Weegee the Famous - since when I learned to shoot pictures on my dad's pawnshop Speed Graphic. This is Weegee's autobiography from the original in 1961 published a few years before his death. Like he says: You can't make up this stuff.
