The Little Red Train: Great Big Train (Little Red Train) by Benedict Blathwayt- Children’s Illustrated Colour Picture Book- The book narrates the story of Duffee and Jack who are Guard and Driver of the little Red Train. A van crossed them. Driver uttered that the Red train in old and useless. Still, when the train reached the station, three customers were waiting for them. First, showroom manager informed that his furniture which is for sale in winter, is lying at the sea port, second, Foreman of Cement factory said that he wants sand to be brought for his concrete mixer plant, third, sawmill owner wanted cut trees brought from jungle. The reason why these three customers have contacted is that Trucks are not able to ply because of road construction, repair and traffic jam. Duffee and Jack accept the job. Train reaches the sea coast terminus. Furniture is loaded in wagons through a crane in three soft wagons. They reached the mine. Hopper filled sand in the wagons. Last, forest labour had cut the tress in size of the wagon. Labour loaded the cut tress. Train started it return journey. This train is run using coal and steam. It leaves a lot of smoke. On reaching the station, the items were delivered to the three customers. Train was sent for repair, oiling. It was painted with red paint. All said that the little red train has done good work for them. I have read Hindi language translation of this book.

Great story, not too many words, plenty of things to look out for on each page and a reason to make train noises! Kept a toddlers attention to the end.
