Life moves pretty quickly these days. And, in the rush to make a living, we sometimes forget to live. The 7 book makes a wonderful gift because it inspires us to stop and look around with fresh eyes. To break out of our routines. to reconnect with all the things that are truly important to us. And to savor and treasure life -- not just now and then, but every day of the week. The 7 book is the fourth addition in the best-selling Life by the Numbers series, and it is easily one of the most inspiring to give or receive.
This deceptively simple book was purchased in my "previous life", when over-busyness was the norm. Hence it is designed for you to take a look at priorities and more. It no longer applies to my current life, nor does it do well in a pandemic year. Much of the hectic lifestyle of Americans is taking a new track, though not the same for everyone.
This is a great book that makes you think about what you are doing in your life. Are you enjoying it or just passing time? It's a quick read but you get the most out of it if you stop, think about it, and fill in the blanks.
I loved the whole experience while reading this book. I think the way the book's printed, non preachy style of book, less words more impact thing , powerful quotes and many more such techniques in one book. The book doesn't even have page number written at bottom. You can read from anywhere and anyhow approach. A perfect coffee table book but which makes you introspect about life and happiness among other things.
Lots of thought provoking inspiration in a book you can read in a day! This will definitely sit out so I can pick it up and refresh my soul on the importance of living life to the fullest not living life to the busiest!
I hate that there are only 5 stars. If you make everything 4 and 5 then there is no 4 or 5. This book was a couple hours of pure self reflection. Reminders to take risk and to disregard your detractors were especially insightful. The reminder that we all have about 30,000 mornings and that if you are not living life then you are surviving were particularly useful right now. Having fun, joking, do a lot and falter quickly all are signs you are "life-ing" as Tony Robbins said at his seminar. Enjoyed this little book.
Quick read. Sometimes over-designed layouts and overuse of multiple sized fonts detracted from the simple and sometimes beautiful messages the book tried to convey. Good gift book I suppose? Might be a great beach day book where you can sift through, ponder, write, be inspired, and realign to your goals and values.
Who knew my own motto was used by Southwest Airlines? "Take work seriously, but not yourself."
Nice collection of thoughts and quotes and advice for everyday living. Mostly things we already know but need to have (re)pounded into our heads every once in a while.
This book is a good read for someone going through a transition or trying to get over a hump. It has quotes and stories that make one think and reflect.
Short & inspirational with a handful of content that really picks at your brain and forces you to reflect on your life a bit. Good for those who are into quotes & sayings.
