This story is about a family who is waiting for family to visit. While the kids wait at home they decide to make dinner for everyone and have it ready when they get home. There is a very young boy who is trying to help with the soup that they are making, but he keeps putting toys into the soup without the older siblings knowing it. When everyone comes home and they sit down to eat the soup they discover how awful it is because of the toys and they are unable to eat it.

A lever 3 math reader introduced simple math in real life situations, three kids are making soup, the littlest one keeps adding strange ingredients like gummy worms, there are just too many cooks!
