Great for an overview, jumps over events, people, and groups that other authors focus more attentively on. Good for general understanding, must be supplemented with other works to understand the individuals and groups who played.

If this was any other subject i'd say it was too boring and academic, but the french revolution is one the least boring topics of history so 4 stars.

love reading history books and books that cover political events, unfortunately this book is written in such a dry and boring manner that i could not simply finish this book.
