The gang takes in the food and culture of Japan while enjoying a sumo wrestling tournament. Of course, it wouldn't be a Mystery, Inc. vacation without a mysterious ghost to cause them trouble!
These Scooby-Doo comics are an insult to the legacy of Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. They're like Cliff's Notes versions of episodes of the original Saturday morning cartoons, which were short enough as it was. If they really wanted to be true to the franchise, they should flesh out the stories more; make them more than just a few pages, which can be read by the average reader in less than five minutes.
Add to that the fact that one of these stories deals with sumo wrestling--which I can't stand; I dislike all sports, but, that one brings back a bad memory I'd rather not divulge here--and this one was a dud. I give it two stars because the artwork was great.
This is a great Scooby-Doo series of graphic novels. Our students have been asking for more "popular character" books, and I really like these Scooby-Doo ones.
