A few things about me...

I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.

And it's really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I'll just let y'all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there's something specific you'd like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D

I just love this series!!

In this latest installment, we get to see the romance between Paolo, a very sexy vamp from Claude's coven, and Dakota, who's only recently come to town, and whose half-brother is one of the Slayers, the group of horrid dirtbags wanting to kill all the vampires.

Paolo is sent by Claude to gather intel, and Dakota is a bit lost and doesn't want to join the Slayers, except it seems his not-so-nice brother is trying to force him to.

This book had a lot more on-screen action while the vamps fight the Slayers, but it also had some super hot vamp-on-human sexing, and lots of snark and sarcasm, like I've come to expect from this author.

Sure, it's not super deep, but I don't expect it to be. I read this series for exactly what it promises - snarky, vampy fun, sexy romps between vamps and humans, and a bit of action for good measure. Bailey Bradford gives all her characters some specific characteristics, and the OMG, you're my mate compulsion for the vamps just makes this even more fun.

I liked Paolo, because he was fun and kind but also deadly when needed, and I really liked Dakota. He was a good guy trapped in a bad situation made worse, but didn't know how to get out. He stood up to his brother eventually, and I was glad that Paolo took him under his wing (bat joke, haha) to get him away from the Slayers. Their love connection was believable, even if Paolo is much older than the still somewhat slightly naive Dakota, who only wants to belong, who wants a family.

Well, he finds that with Paolo and Claude's coven. Well done, Ms. Bradford!

I can see at least two more books in this series' future, because we must find out about Kellan and Jude, right? And also, Erin, Andrew's brother from book 2, gets his own book. I'll be starting that one shortly!!

I get such a kick out of 'The Vamp for Me' series by Bailey Bradford. First, each of the titles is fun and quirky. Second, the stories have all been unique, hot, sexy, and again, fun. And third, I just enjoy the way this author tells a story, plus the fact she kept all the original vampire lore intact. So it shouldn't come as any surprise that I enjoyed 'The Trouble with Mirrors'.

Paolo is a twink. No two ways about it. Since he was turned at twenty, he'll forever be a twink. There's nothing wrong with that at all, it's just been forever since he's had sex so when Claude asks him if he wants a night out clubbing and getting information on the Dark Slayers, Paolo is all for it.

Dakota is geeky, and socially awkward - my favorite type of guy. He doesn't want to join the Dark Slayers but his half brother has said they'll kill him if he doesn't. Hell, he's only known this brother for a month, as Dakota came to Nevada just to fulfill a request in his father's will so he can get the money promised to him.

Paolo is so sweet. He just wants to find his mate and be loved for who he is. Dakota doesn't know what to think when faced with Paolo as a vampire, except that this "monster" has made him feel better about himself than anyone else ever has. It certainly doesn't take them long to figure out their feelings, and they are definitely hot and sexy together.

Another wonderfully fun installment!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

As it has been about six months since I read the last installment in The Vamp for Me series, I don’t feel too badly that I cannot recall if we’ve met Paolo before or not. I’m leaning toward not simply because I cannot imagine forgetting such a delightful character – but admittedly, there were so many vampires introduced in the first book in the series that I won’t swear to it either way. Regardless, this installment gives fans the chance to get to know another vampire in Claude’s coven, see him meet his potential mate, deal with the Dark Slayers (again), and find out what is The Trouble with Mirrors.

Paolo, along with new coven member, Jude, are doing some undercover reconnaissance for Claude, trying to find out what the local Dark Slayers are up to. Dressed up as the stereotypical twink, Paolo catches the eye of Dakota, a new recruit who is slated to be initiated into the Dark Slayers that night. Now as anyone who has read the series will recognize, the near instant attraction that Paolo has for Dakota is a pretty good indicator that Dakota is Paolo’s mate. Even though Paolo has already witnessed several matings among the coven members, he chalks his attraction up to his dry spell because there is no way he would ever mate with the enemy. Nuh-uh. No way. Not happening. Never. But when Paolo gets to spend a little time chatting with Dakota, he realizes that Dakota isn’t on board with the Dark Slayers’ initiation and his been going along with it strictly because of his brother. In fact, Dakota figures the whole lot of them are nuts and wishes he’d never gone looking for his half-brother. When Paolo realizes that he can’t let Dakota get sucked into the Dark Slayers because the guy is too nice and Paolo would really like to see if there’s something to the spark between them, he helps Dakota escape the men and, once they’re safe, they decide to finish what they started in the bar. And boy do they finish it! Unfortunately for Paolo, his “O” face flashes a bit of fang and while it doesn’t register in the moment, the next morning Dakota has a clear recollection of their encounter and promptly freaks the heck out. As Dakota is coming to terms with the fact that the Dark Slayers might not be completely nuts (but still crazy), they come knocking on the front door, prepared to kill any vampires and vamp lovers they might find, including Dakota if his loyalties come into question. While an unexpected ally keeps Dakota and Paolo from dying during the melee, Paolo is left wondering if Dakota can accept him after seeing what Paolo looks like in full-fledged fighting vampire mode.

The Trouble with Mirrors reminds me more of the first book in the series with its humor, which can be campy and irreverent. I adored Paolo. He was so much fun to watch when he turned the flame way up on the club twink role. But it was his peaceful and happy countenance (especially as seen during his interactions with Claude), that provided the complete picture that was Paolo. As for Dakota, I would have liked to have known a bit more about him. Much of the focus on him was actually on the situation he found himself in rather than the actual man. Then again, there was a bit of pillow talk that I may or may not have focused on as well as I should have, being caught up in the afterglow and all. Whew! Those boys were hot together. This may actually be my second favorite book in the series. I loved The Trouble with Mirrors and am looking forward to the next book in the series already. And to answer the question, what is the trouble with mirrors, it’s the lack of reflection – which makes it difficult for the pretty boy twink to properly primp. ;)

This is actually the first book that I have read by Bailey Bradford and even though it is book 5 in the series I decided to read it because it it does not have to be read with the others in the series to understand what is going on. In other words it can be read as a stand alone and you will still know and understand what is going on.

I was kind of ifish on reading this book because I recently got into reading paranormal books but I am so glad that I did read it because it was a very interesting read. The two main characters in this book are Paolo and Dakota. Paolo is the vamp and Dakota is supposed to be joining the Dark Slayers whether he does it willing or not.

When these two men met it was like time stood still and it was like the other was finally fining the other half of their sole. They both have obstacles that can stand in their way of being together and both know that they are taking the chance of being killed by being together but it seems that once you find your mate, nothing else matters.

Even though they both have their own reasons as to why they should not work out, it seems they cannot stay away from one another. The question they both have to ask themselves is,,,, can they except the other for what they truly are and are their feelings for each other the real deal or is it only lust??? Only time can answer that question for them and that is something that they do not have so they have to make the decision they think is the right one. It is it really the wrong one???

Cannot wait to read more books in the series and cannot wait to find out what happens with Kellan and Jude.

I started off in the Vamp for Me series with the second book – Don’t Stake My Life On It – which I loved due to its crazy premise. Then the next book didn’t do much for me. But with The Trouble with Mirrors, the fun is back.

First, we got more Radney, and I have to say, a book with more Radney is a good book indeed. This book is about Paolo. He is the vamp Radney helped save in the second book and he’s out to help his coven leader get some information on the Dark Slayers cult whose sole idea is to hunt and murder vamps.

He has his job and is all set and then… he meets Dakota who can’t take his eyes from Paolo’s behind. Paolo thinks he’ll get the dirt on the Dark Slayers through this new initiate only to find out Dakota doesn’t want to join the cult but has been threatened. So what’s a cute little vamp to do but save him? And sex him up. And fall in love with him. And… oops. Can’t tell that part.

Loved the story. But Bradford left us hanging on two important pieces of information. A: What was the white dust? Enquiring minds want to know *wink*. B: What happens with Kellen? I mean we’re left with what sounds like bad news and then… nothing.

Don’t leave us hanging!

Okay. So 4 stars because the sex scenes were lackluster and I think the book would have been even better without them entirely. But a great Vamp for Me book.

I like this series. This particular book is probably one of the weaker. The characters are nice enough, but these two will never be my favorite couple. The supporting characters are more intriguing, even mean looking Jude. One never really get to know Paolo and Dakota. Sure, Paolo is obsessed with his own looks and Dakota come across as a mumbling fool sometimes, but that is as deep as it gets.

The book is easy to read and you don't really need to engage your self too much. I would rather say it might even harm your sense of enjoyment.
The story rushes past some things that I would have loved if the author had expanded a bit more.

If you disregard those small things this an ok sweet story.

Turned at the age of twenty, Paolo will forever have a butt made to wear sexy shorts. Nevertheless, Paolo is a little envious of the mated vampires in the coven until he meets the perfect guy to be a vampire mate.

The Trouble with Mirrors is the fifth book in The Vamp for Me series. The series is a romantic comedy with a touch of drama and steamy intimacy. The vampires are a group of misfits, forming a coven led by Claude, who started a dating site to attract willing human mates. Without mates, the only other feeding options is blood bank deliveries or go on a hunt for dinner and risk sunburn if you lose track of the time.

Paolo is on a fact gathering mission when he encounters his future mate Dakota, but Dakota is in big trouble. His brother is forcing him to join the Dark Slayers, the very group Paolo is spying on. Things get tense when an attempted escape is discovered and survival is not looking to be in Paolo’s favor.

Bailey Bradford has created an exceptionally intriguing and enjoyable episode that poses several questions in the reader’s mind, as well as builds the desire for the next book in hopes of finding the answers to the mysteries revealed.
