I discovered this book while researching my ancestor who fought at Bennington Nicholas Felch. This book gives an accurate historical account of what happened at the battle and key players,but only a few personal accounts. Great for a book report or for light reading.

The real turning point of the revolution!

I live near the battlefield. It is amazing to hear accounts of the battle from the participants. An American victory that paved the way for the victory at Saratoga and proved to France that we were serious about defeating England.

The battle of Bennington in the words of the participants is an interesting book. While it was interesting to read, it was a slow read, but the words of the soldiers and the militia brought back that battle and made it alive.

A short book but relying on a lot of great first person evidence detailed in pension applications and letters. Roughly 100 pages, but the Battle of Bennington was a relatively short fight. The author provides modern pictures from the area which will be good for anyone planning to visit the battleground for a tour.

A quick but entertaining historical narrative about people that fought in the Battle of Bennington. Most of them traveled from far and wide to fight....in this key battle in the Revolutionary War.
