An examination of the mythological, historical, and archaeological evidence for lost civilizations throughout the world
• Explores unexplained mysteries such as the Caucasian mummies of China, the pyramids of Caral in Peru, and the genetically unique X-woman of Siberia
• Examines evidence of lost, ancient civilizations in Asia, Europe, and the Americas, including extensive investigation into Atlantis
• Shows that Siberia and the Amazon may have been cradles of humanity before Africa
Over and over again, mainstream views of early history--which state that the first civilizations arose around 3500 BCE--are plagued by evidence of much older civilizations, evidence ranging from artifacts and inexplicable remains to pyramids and ubiquitous myths that clearly speak of great empires prior to the rise of the Sumerian city states and pharaonic Egypt.
Viewing Atlantis and its many related myths as a metaphor for a long-lost global civilization, Patrick Chouinard explores the mythological, cultural, religious, and archaelogical evidence for many forgotten civilizations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He addresses unexplained mysteries from around the world, such as Caucasian mummies found in China, the pyramids of Caral in Peru, the “hobbit” remains on Flores Island, the giant heads of Easter Island, the lost legacy of Lemuria, the ideology and occult mysticism behind Nazi theory, and the genetically unique X-woman of Siberia. He also examines evidence of ancient alien visits and other supernatural phenomena in the distant past. Using recent archaeological findings, he shows that Siberia and the Amazon may have been cradles of humanity millennia before Africa. Sounding the call to continue searching ancient, remote, and formerly forbidden regions for lost cultures and genetic root races, Chouinard offers a new chronology for the emergence of human life and civilization as well as a new mechanism for how and why societies and species change over time. By finding lost peoples and their forgotten worlds, we can truly begin to understand the human race and learn from its long history.
The Alt field is an interesting, challenging and some times an unbelievable world. The maximum books, pamphlets and articles in the Alt field are on Archaeology, History, and in Natural Sciences including Astronomy.
I have read quite a number of books on Alt Egyptian History and so is it any wonder that I would read up on Atlantis! Browsing through Scribd books I saw this book FORGOTTEN WORLDS FOM ATLANTIS TO THE X WOMAN OF SIBERIA AND HOBITS OF FLORES and I picked up the book.
Patrick Chouinard’s approach is refreshingly different. It was a new idea that he discussed -there was not one but many Atlantis across the globe in probably all the seas East, West, North and South – in the North Sea, Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, I the Seas off China and Japan.
Every ancient civilization and culture has its legends of the Great Flood that wiped out all but a few men and women who escaped in various boats and as the waters receded made land fall and set up new civilizations to which they imparted their wisdom and skills.
It was these wise survivors of the old super civilization who built the incredible monuments that still stand today – the temples, the pyramids and the most renowned of all the Sphinx- and across the globe -Egypt, Mesoamerica, Polynesia and elsewhere.
As stated in the book “It can be concluded that the Sphinx—and for that matter, the pyramids—represent an order of civilization stretching back some 30,000 years to the Osirian Empire. Despite the rantings of Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner, Robert Schoch’s initial assessment of the Sphinx is, in fact, congruent with all of the available evidence. There should be no surprise that Schoch’s views are met with disdain by the establishment, for are not all great thinkers met with resistance and controversy before their theories become validated?” undoubtedly is an inkling that the classical historic timeline given by classic scholars needs a re-look and maybe a rewriting of our school history books.
Again we were taught that civilization as we know it first occurred in the fertile crescent in Middle East -Sumer, Assyria, Babylon and then spread east and west, to Egypt, India and China. But is this the fact or are the evidence available subject to a different interpretation. David Hatcher Childress states “before the 1920s European scholars generally believed that Indian and Hindu culture bore little intrinsic value and was the possible product of Alexander the Great’s expedition to the Indian subcontinent in 327 BCE. The discovery of the two main Indus cities of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro changed those sentiments forever. This was but a prelude to unearthing many additional cities built with the same grid-like design. Among them were Kot Diji, Kalibanga, and Lothal, the port of Gujarat. Lothal was discovered forty-five years ago, and experts believe there are many more sites to be excavated. The discovery of the Indus Valley Civilization forced archaeologists to reconsider past misconceptions and push back the origins of Indian civilization to an earlier time.”
Recently, side-to-side sonar has revealed the pattern of a series of sunken structures in the Gulf of Cambay off the southwest coast of India. Dredging has revealed potshards, stone and metal implements, weapons, and religious idols and other artifacts. These items were ultimately dated to 9500 BCE, but scholars date the Indus Valley sites to about 4,000BCE a difference of five millennia. The Indian religious tome Srimad Bhagavatam in the Tenth Canto narrates the tale of Krishna on whose death the sea rose and flooded his capital city Dwaraka and submerged it beneath the waves – the location of Dwarka off the southwest coast of India in the Gulf of Cambay. This was an advanced civilization which sunk beneath the waves in 9,500 BCE – the date very coincidentally tallying with the date of destruction of Plato’s Atlantis.
Throughout the book , there are narrations and evidence presented of sunken cities and land masses and any or all of them could have been Atlantis. Atlantis definitely is not a mythical island but it is one of the many civilizations known to have been swamped by the sea – Mu, Lemuria, Kumari Khanda and so on.
The book is well written, the narrative flows easily and it is an interesting read!!!
I am a long time follower of the work being done in the Archeology and Anthropology worlds regarding the lost continents and lost civilizations of this world. Especially Atlantis and Lemuria or Mu.
This book not only gave the history of the studies but current updates and new theories about how we became today's version of man and woman. The book covered the history of written languages all the way to a new set of Runes. It covered new pyramids. The Flood myth and Creation myths around the world were especially interesting in their similarities and for the first time China was included.
The book was written with a great readability factor, which in this subject can be a challenge for an author or even just a person trying to have a discussion. One thing of interest was the Mayan Calendar which is focused upon the date December 21, ...2012. There is a glitch in the computation and the year may well be 2050. We will have to wait and see.
This subject is still fascinating to me and I'll continue to look for books on even one of the topics covered in this book.
I have read extensively on these topics for years; watched documentaries, visited websites, and this book packed so much information that was new to me that I was quite astounded. A very informative, interesting read if you want to explore Atlantis, Lemuria (Mu), or any forgotten/lost civilization.
