Just One Taste...

Rate this book
Nothing tastes sweeter than forbidden fruit. And Lucas Broussard has forbidden written all over him. From the top of his dark head on down, his designer suits cover the heart of a rebel — and lots of secrets. Socialite dropout Vanessa Douglas should know, because she's got a kindred spirit.

Despite how alluring he is, Vanessa really must resist. After all, her fledgling catering business depends on being welcomed back into the family fold...and their endless fund-raisers and formal dinners. It's an entrepreneur's dream, even though toeing the social line is a tad, uh, restrictive.

Still, a single night with Lucas won't be her downfall, will it? Surely she could indulge just this once, then return to playing good girl in the morning. Too bad once is not enough with this man. And even more devastating than his bedroom charm are the secrets he's about to reveal....

A sweet, sexy little novella included with the second book. Makes me want to find out what happens with this couple.

I adored Just One Taste by Victoria Dahl. I read it as part of The Guy Next anthology. The other stories were OK for me but Victoria Dahl's story made me ** SOOOO ** happy. The story revolves around Eric, who is the oldest brother of the Donovan family. He has been the head of the family to his two younger siblings since he was in his early twenties when their parents died. He has always been straight-laced and responsible. His younger brother is the wild child of the family. The family owns a brewery together. At a local business convention, Eric sees Beth. Beth is a curvy, beautiful manager of a local erotica shop. When they meet, Beth mistaken believes that Eric is Jamie, his younger brother, and Eric doesn't correct her because he wants to live on the wild side for a bit.

Eric and Beth have INCREDIBLE chemistry together. Dahl writes great female characters that I wish were my friends. The author also allows us to delve into each character and feel connected to them. This story had great pacing that I couldn't wait to turn the page. The banter and slow burn of Eric and Beth is off the charts. This is a incredibly sexy, sensual, and every woman's fantasy type of book. I can't recommend it enough and it's follow up Real Men Will.

My recommendation is to read the series (Donovan Brothers Brewery) in order. It's is not absolutely necessary but will help with the flow of the characters and story lines.
