This was the most helpful guide for viewing and understanding the birds that visit my feeders all year. I'm interested in trying to attract bluebirds, orioles, waxwings and buntings. The book helped with feeder and water ideas as well as giving specific information about each species that are indigenous to this area. The Stokes guides are well designed and easy to read.
Setting up bird feeder stations is not difficult and the rewards of watching birds is a joy. This quick guide includes advice on setting up different bird feeders and provides descriptions of several common birds attracted to feeders.
It is interesting that the authors do not vilify any of the predators such as cowbirds and starlings, whose presence can cause more desirable birds to leave.
Exactly what I was looking for to set up a feeder, which has been attracting so much wildlife 😃, and learn about some of the common birds we've enjoyed seeing so far;
I nice concise book of popular bird feeder birds; their characteristics, habits, population range and interactions with other birds in the yard or by the feeder.
