Living space is precious. Rebecca Tangueray starts with Making the Most of Your Space, showing how clever use of colour, lighting, and other elements makes for a coherent home with a feeling of space. The Zones explores the organization of areas for living, cooking, working, bathing, and sleeping, and making them multifunctional. Solutions tackles crucial elements such as dividing space, using colour and lighting, and storage. *Whether you live in a studio apartment or have one room that's just too small, create an uncluttered and serene home, whatever your style. *Make every inch of your home work for you.
Made for people living in New York style cities, ie you have a condo. Expensive ideas. Lack of color used, which doesn't make sense. Using color can help the walls recede and give illusion of space quickly and easily. Very, very modern look.
Nice pictures, but their idea of 'small' is over 900 square feet. Also, one of the repeated suggestions is 'build a mezzanine' which only works if you own the place!
I liked the idea of this book because I have a very small house. But, it was a bit disappointing. The small format made all the print feel cramped and the pictures too small. The style of the homes is far too modern for me as well.
