How can a lonely little polar bear find a friend? The snow cloud tries to help by making animal shapes out of snow, but they`re not real, and the little polar bear feels very alone. Just when he is about to give up hope, he spies another little bear, just like him. But this little polar bear is real! A friend at last!
Jane Cabrera is best known as an Author and Illustrator of Children's Books. She has written and illustrated 56 books which have been translated into over 25 languages and won awards in the US and Europe. She lives on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor National Park in the UK. Her books range from picture story books to concept board books for babies.
Cabrera is a great author for the younger crowd. My twin 3 yr old's loved it. Colorful fun pictures that helps get the child engaged and keeps them engaged. The illustrations were paintings that had a unique brushstroke and the colors were so vibrant! Cabrera has a style all her own. Loved the paintings especially! Also, many of her books have themes that are popular children’s songs, so immediately her books grabbed my preschoolers attention. A great addition to any children's library.
Cabrera presents the story of a lonely polar bear who is looking for friend. Attempts to create a friend from the surrounding snow, only leads to temporary but less than satisfying results. Luckily good things come to those that wait. Minimal print with engaging illustrations and a familiar universal theme, it could be added to other books about friendship for young readers.
This is heartwarming book that teaches students the value of friendship. When polar bear is lonely, snow cloud tries his best to make him friends but they all melt away. Eventually, when he thought all hope was lost, polar bear finds another real polar bear to play with! This book would be useful in teaching students about feelings and empathy. It also is great at encouraging friendship!
All this little polar bear wants is a friend, but they keep melting away. Loved the sweet ending! It will definitely get you a few "awwwwwww's" from the audience.
Not my favorite Jane Cabrera book. I like her nursery rhyme books a lot, and this is an actual story about a lonely Polar Bear. It is a sweet story though.
Saya jadi paham tipe-tipe buku bergambar anak yang cenderung saya sukai. Yang semacam ini. Yang ceritanya tipe-tipe "you were so lonely and then you found someone" gitu.
Btw, gambar beruang kutubnya kelihatan kayak anjing dan anjing lautnya mukanya cuman bulet gitu, tapi entah kenapa ilustrasinya ada daya tariknya tersendiri bagi si Gie. Suka. Huhuhu... si Gie bahagia huhuhu....
“Polar Bear and the Snow Cloud” by Jane Cabrera (2011)
“There was once a polar bear whose only friend was a fluffy white snow cloud.”
The bear wishes and wishes for a friend, the cloud generously provided 'snow' versions of potential friends, but it's just not the same thing. … until! - - -
I love this illustrator and writer. She has the cutuest pictures. A little polar bear can't find anyone to play with him because the snow takes them away. Finally at the end another little polar bear that is "real" comes. Cute story.
