I loved this book - I think it could would really well to get one kid to understand how his actions may have repercussions that he didn't consider.. however, was not well received as read aloud material to 2nd grade classroom. Go figure.
The pictures are beautiful. They are semi-bright, but mostly fit into the forrest theme of the book. The animals look anatomically correct, but wear human clothes and make comical facial expressions.
This is a very long story and would be difficult to hold the attention of young children.
Although it does touch on the repercussions one's actions can have, I didn't like that in the end fox does not see the error of his ways, make amends, or even apologize.
All in all, this is a funny little story, but doesn't go beyond that and try to teach kids a truly meaningful lesson.

Cute story where all of the animals Fox has tricked finally outfox the fox. It's very Aesop's Fables.
I wasn't so much into the pictures, mostly because of a personal preference, but partially because there were a couple of scenes where the animal's expressions were...odd.
