Excellent and comprehensive book on how to treat our bodies well. Great recipe section! The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I read it in 2014 and it's a bit outdated. Recommended for supplement ideas especially.
This book was much better than I anticipated. Lots of helpful and "doable" advice. I particularly liked the "worry break" ideas, the brain exercises, and the way he approached food and exercise issues. My only complaint is that you really had to read the whole book to do the plan correctly. I would have preferred it been set up week to week rather than each chapter dealing with a particular issue. I have really had to take notes and outline in order to get keep the plan straight in my head. So I will officially begin this next week. Here's hoping it works!
This book has something for EVERYONE who wants to be healthier, but it is especially important for those of us over 50 years old. I am trying many of their suggestions (not to turn off the TV for 10 weeks, though) and will see if my health improves by November. They echo many of the guidelines for Weight Watchers, which I believe is a sound program. I happened to meet a lady at Super Supplements today who called the author about her son's illnesses years ago, and he helped her a great deal! Check it out!~
I read this book in about a week. Lots were not relevant but he does believe in dietary supplements. This book was written in 1997 but it seems relevant today. Good suggestions but who has the time or energy to do all that he suggests. Good book and it does indicate what is good and bad about the food we eat.
I'm a believer in anti-oxidants. This book does advise quite a lot of supplement-taking, so skip it if it is not your thing. Otherwise, good advice, mainly.
